| | Look into the Dragonlance campain setting, its one from 2nd edition although I think there's a 3rd ed floating around on the internet. They have 2 seperate knight base classes you can work off of. | | Champion of the Tohr-Kreen. WotDQ Called Shot: Fang Dragon. | |

| Figure or class?
For class, if you can wait, next month will bring us a new PHB II with a new Knight class.
As for figures, I like the Stalwart Paladin, as he matches fairly well with the Mounted Paladin. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. It is difficult to help you find one to your liking when we don't know what you like.
You don't need a special class to play a knight:
Knight = fighter + roleplay | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

Paladin works well too.
As someone else said, looking at the Dragonlance books will find you prestige classes for the Knights of Solamnia, Tahakasis, and Neraka. | | Champion of the Beholder and Beholderkin

| | Something to remember... if starting at first level, you should actually be making up a squire with hopes of becomeing a knight. Any of the core classes can be knighted, but I would stick with the fighter based classes. | | "Are you not entertained?"

| IIRC, there was a base class, Cavalier, in the 1st edition. or maybve it was in the unearth arcana. Anyhow, for 3rd edition, one can use either the fighter or the paladin. IMHO a fighter is a better option as you can develop your own type of knight, and can set your code of conduct as you see it. Also, as mentioned above, Complete Warrior have several knight-oriented prestige classes (Cavalier,Knight of the Chalice, Knight Protector, and Purple Dragon Knight). | | Champion of Cockatrices. | | I had a player want to use the Samurai base class from Complete Warrior. I told him not to use the asian weapon names in the book, but rather their standard equivilent, and that people would refer to him as an "honorable knight". My CS has an Oriental based continent, but no one has gone there yet. THERE is where they're called samurai. | | Completed trades: Gausse, Mazra, Pagansexy, Galerians, Lord_Raven, Drakkengi, Temujinn x2, Random Sasquatch, elf_ranger, Azuretide, Hung4treason, Griffrat (face2face), Nasamonkey Carpe Forum! | |

| | Thanks to everybody for your responses and i think that i am going to wait for the knight in PHB2 to come out and if that takes my fancy and my DM will allow it i will use that if not a fighter + roleplaying it is! | | Proud member since March 26 2005 Champion of the SIVAK DRACONIAN Completed trades: (94) Bad traders(2) DJchuckles, sardal Called shots:Sivak Draconian in DD Trade References Email Me | |

It was in the first Unearthed Arcana. It was the class that introduced increasing ability scores. Also, it was a tad on the powerful side as I recall.

| Hey Sean. We should get together one day and go over what exactly you want.
The Cavalier from the 1st Edition Unearthed Arcana was a great class and with a few tweaks could probably be used.
Dragonlance has the Knights of Solamnia we could use a basis to make a class.
Or design one from scratch.
As long as the class is balanced to the other classes we should really have no problems.

It also had negative levels if you didn't start at a high enough social standing. If I recall you also had the potential for a 1st level character with a fully barded warhorse full plate shield lance sword and lots o cash. It was a little much. | | Asystole is a stable heart rhythm | |
