Just wondering what everyones favorite 3.0 - 3.5 published adventure has been thus far? It can be WotC or a Dungeon adventure or campaign, it really doesn't matter.

I am preparing for a new adventure for a campaign we are about to start up after about a year off and am thinking of running RHoD. I am wondering if I missed any others worth taking a look at.

I am sure there are many others out there that would like a favorites list to look at as well so lets see what we come up with.

Here is my have want list:

Sunless Citadel is tons o' fun.
Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil is decent but I prefer to run the original Temple and just update things as needed.

The winner, though, is Red Hand of Doom. The overall concept is interesting and it's well written. [^]

Red Hand of Doom or Age of Worms are both very good. Of coarse, AoW requires you to track down 12 issues of dungeon, so RHoD would be easier to pick up now.

Red Hand of Doom is the first WOTC module in years that I've wanted to adapt and run. I usually buy Goodman Games modules and adapt them to the C&C system or develop my own adventures.

Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil was a great one but The Red Hand of Doom might be better, haven't run it yet so can't say for sure.

I have ran the ToEE for a 3.5 ed, heard the horrors of the RtToEE, I can't say about the AoW as I am going to be ran through it. Yet, I am smitten with the RHoD. I am really impressed with the overall design and the input from the designers who offer advice at certain critical points in the overall scheme of the adventure. Great in theory and execution.....it would get my vote for the best 3.5 adventure....[)]

I do have both adventure paths since I subscribe to Dungeon, and do think they look quite impressive, but have not run either of them.

One that has been mentioned that I have not run is the Sunless Citadel, but I do own it.

It also looks like many are as high on the RHoD adventure like I am. The whole war thing and the PC actions affecting the outcomes really has me interested.

Yes, I have the first Adventure Path, too. However, I didn't like how the combined volume of the whole path is better than the version I received in the magazines. I've often though they should release an update pdf for those of us who were dedicated to the path via their magazine. I certainly do not wish to buy it a second time.

My group, who typically never finish any adventure, finished (and thoroughly enjoyed) "Trouble at Durbenford" from Necromancer Games. Rappan Athuk (also from Necromancer) is one of my favorites as well.

The man who thinks he can, and the man who thinks he can't are both right. Which one are you?

That's why I'm so hip with a Huge purple worm...proxies very nicely for Wystes [:D]

The 3.0 adventure series (sunless citadel, forge of fury) were all pretty decent mods. The Sunless was by far the best, though.

Another really fun pre-pub mod is Dawn of Destruction by Mongoose for the Lone Wolf game. It's d20 but would take some work to convert to D&D rules (but it's fun if you're running Lone Wolf).

So far, Shackled City Adventure Path is my favorite. Age of Worms Adventure Path looks pretty good too. From D&D 3.0, my favorite was Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

Wow, maybe it was the DM, but our group HATED Speaker In Dreams. The funky shop wasn't too bad, but it went downhill quick. I think we trashed the temple almost as much as the bad guys (we took to breaking through the walls at least). It wasn't the most hated adventure, but I digress since that was not the question...

I would say the best published adventure I've run was The Ghosts Of Aniel. Even better was the fact that it was a free adventure from WtoC. I've run it with 2 groups so far and while neither of them was successful, both said they enjoyed how creepy it was.

I'm currently running RHoD, it looks like it will be cool if the characters can survive it. I have my doubts, even though I started them on it at 7th level.

Age of Worms is hands-down my favorite adventure ever. Depending on your starting party level, Sunless Citadel might well be your best choice.

Take a look at "The Sword of the Justicars" in Demons&Devils from Necromancer Games (really wicked [}:)]), also from NG the trilogy of Rappan Athuk is fine, I like from WotC 3.0 "The Forge of Fury" and "The Lord of the Iron Fortress", too.

My group and I enjoyed Speaker of Dreams as well as the Forge of Fury.

I am becoming more interested in the Sunless Citadel with all the feedback, but my group is at about 7th level. I will definitely run it when we start a new campaign someday with all of the positive feedback on it.

Note that it's Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil by Monte Cook rather than The Temple of Elemental Evil by Gygax.

I didn't like City of the Spider Queen. We were TPK'd three freaking times during that adventure, and gave up trying to destroy that temple made of negative energy. Part of it was probably the fact that we had a druid instead of a cleric, and the fighter slot was taken by an elven ranger. But it still wasn't much fun being obliterated every four or five encounters.

It's deja vu all over again.

See, I knew someone would get to our groups most hated adventure eventually.

City of the Spider Queen seems to be a DM favorite. My group got about 5 rooms into it and when the Dwarven Cleric was killed (who our hook for the adventure centered on), we told off Randall Mourn and left. Some of the blame goes to our DM who started us on it early, but every time I read a recap of it I hear about multiple PC deaths.

Some people may like the grinder, but that's not my version of fun.

Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil for me. I'm DMing it at the moment (and my brother did all the internal artwork [:D]).

It includes a massive variety of creatures, and has a compelling central storyline with excellent villains. Great, great fun.

Sunless Citadel. It wasn't perfect, but it almost immediately captured the sort of nostalgia old modules like Palace of the Silver Princess and Keep on the Borderlands had.

(And it was a pretty damn fine adventure, a few cartographical issues aside.)

Age of Worms (chock full of Kyuss ungoodness), Shackled City, and Maure Dungeon.

Soon, oh so soon, the Savage Tide will roll in..... This is going to feature Deomgorgon, a trip to the Abyss, and what sounds like alot of time on the Isle of Dread.[}:)]

I've also toyed with porting over Return to the Tomb of Horrors to 3.5 and well as the expanded Against the Giants (as an epic adventure).

The eberron adventures are fun, too. My group has played through Forgotten Forge, Shadows of the Last War, and Whispers of the Vampire's Blade, and are currently playing Grasp of the Emerald Claw...all are very fun.

We also played through most of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. It is fun, but it was so long that the players eventually lost interest.

I converted the original Ravenloft adventure into 3.5 and everyone loved it. Some classics are just too good to pass by. After Dragon Magazine listed their greatest adventures and it was in the top five I had to run it, so I found it used on the internet. Amazingly I had begun playing in the early eighties as a preteen and had never played this classic.

Are there any other favorites not mentioned yet?

Perhaps warm fuzzies on any already mentioned?

So far the leading vote getters include:
Return of the Elemental Evil
Shackled City Adv. Path - Dungeon
Age of Worms Adv. Path - Dungeon
Sunless Citadel
Red Hand of Doom

In no particular order of course.

The Red Hand of Doom is very well written, and I like its theme a lot.

Ooo, yes. That Maure Castle adventure in Dungeon was rock-solid. There's also a follow-up adventure (not the whole magazine) in another issue of Dungeon about a year later.

I've only run RttToEE. It was an excellent tool for learning to DM a 3.x game.

I picked up RHoD and am looking foward to running my players through it

I really enjoyed the Black Ice Well by Monkeygod publishing. it was a single adventure, but it was pretty long and intruiging.

City of the Spdier Queen was interesting but since we played it with a 6 month gap in the middle it was kinda rough.

Looking to buy some figures? Chances are I may have them!! Check here!!
