I suppose that would depend what kind of campaign you are running. One thing to consider is how do dragons fit into your game world as a whole.
If dragons are feared and reviled everywhere perhaps the new races would be greated as Drow and treated with equal fear and suspicion.
In a general sense moderation is not usually a bad thing. perhaps just allow one or two players to play them until you get a better feel for how they fit into your campaign.

Yes there are.
Dragonborn are a new, relatively rare race that can easily be added to an existing campaign. It's basically a transformation that a normal PC race can undergo in order to become one of Bahamut's chosen.
Spellscales have supposedly be around all along, but they're rare and have just recently begun increasing in number. This will be the most difficult one to retrofit into a campaign.
The others (kobold, 1/2 dragon) are all for the core MM or the draconomicon (draconic creatures) and should integrate fine into a standard D&D campaign.

| | Thanks. My players have already decided one wants to be a spellscale and the other a Dragon born. They say their going to study and come up a with a background for my approval so I guess we'll see. | | Champion of Flint Fireforge Knight of The DarkMantle KoK: The Easily Swayed "I use to have a working probelm, until it got in the way of my gaming." | |

| I was thinking maybe turning the PC's word on it's head... think about it:
During a quest to recover the metallic dragonorbs, the pc's encounter an odd race that is almost hlaf-dragon in appearence. They are the sacred watchers of Bahamut, and, bursting into a big speech to the pc's they reveal that the dragons are involved in a war of their own, a war involving Tiamat and Bahamut. During this time, a group of clerics begin to travel the world, spreading word of Bahamut.
It's a work in progress, obviously. | | My Trading Thread

| Regarding Clerics of Bahamut, I was wondering if anybody got the "Complete Divine" book and could tell me what the favourite weapon for Bahamut's clerics is.
Are there interesting spells in the "Dragon" domain?

| I've had a player use the Kobold option, with wings. It's pretty good, gives some fun play without being overpowered. Of course, it mostly depends on your players. There's always a way to break something...

| Just be sure to avoid allowing Venerable Dragonwrought Kobolds. They auto-qualify for Epic feats regardless of level | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References | |

| Posted By realmaster on 11/17/2007 1:07 AM regardless of level?? thats just wrong. Dragonwrought template turns kobolds into the Dragon type (not dragonblood subtype). Dragon-type creatures automatically qualify as epic upon reaching venerable age (which for 'real' dragons means gargantuan+.
Being old does have some benefits...if you're a dragon

Who needs working hips when you can take Combat Archery, Epic Leadership, Epic Toughness, Great Charisma (gets your Cha up for Epic Leadership), etc.?

Looks like the favored weapons is "bite" or "heavy pick", which is kind of cool. As for the Dragon domain spells, didn't find a "Dragon" domain! | | When the levee breaks, mama you got to move....
