| | I was curious to know what fellow DMs that are running RHoD are using for certain NPCs and monsters that don't have minis. For example, I've been pulling my hair out trying to find something that remotely looks like a hobgoblin or bugbear spellcaster (cleric or wizard). Also what minis have you been using for the Wyrmlords and good guys town NPCs (Drellin's Ferry and Brindol)? Thanks! | | Champion of the Lamia www.tygrhobbes.com | |

| The Hobgoblin Adept (Chainmail) would make an excellent Hobgoblin spellcaster...
You just have to find one.
And paint it.
Which is not what I suspect you're aiming for.
You could use Orcs (Wolf Shaman/Druid). I know they're not exact but would be easy to distinguish.
Or you could use the Bugbear Cleric of Erythnul. Again, it's not the best, but it is a caster! | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| | I used a Hobgoblin Impaler for the cleric of Tiamat from Roadside Ambush (encounter 1). Heavy armor, heavy steel shield, and a weapon that looked enough like a mace from 3' away to not matter. That and it looked different from the HobGob Archers and the Bladebearer that made up the rest of the encounter. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) | Regarding Town NPC's, they haven't had to fight against or alongside them yet, so I haven't used anything to represent them. I used a Deepshadow Elf (the ever-useful "guy in cloak" mini) for Jorr Natherson, and will probably use Arcanix Guards and Man-at-Arms (Aberrations) for the Lions of Brindol when the group gets there, since the blue tabards already match the description.
I used a Bugbear Champ of Erythnul for Koth, and will probably use a Silent Wolf Goblin for Saarvith. I don't know what to use for Ulawi Stormcaller, and can only hope for a good choice in WotDQ. I haven't thought about the wyrmlords farther out than that, since the way my group plays, I have months to prepare. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) | I was thinking Inspired lieutenant for Ulawi Stormcaller they comment on her beauty and she does have 17 char.
the doom fist clerics I was thinking orc druid or maybe ever the spellstiched hobgoblin zombie (just ignore the bony arm).
I was going to use the scarlet brotherhood monks as the doom fist monks.
there are enough hobgolins in various sets for the rank and file warriors and their sargents but I'm hoping we see some more RHoD minis in WotDQ or at least things that are better proxies.
the only things i'm really sweating are the ghost lions, I only have one dire lion and off the top of my head I can't think of any other proxies.... maybe the Steel Predator and Warbound Impaler.

| For me I have tons of painted metal minis that I am planning on using for the "named" creatures. So for the majority of the Dragonlords I am using metal minis to distinguish from the normal rank and file.
As for the named NPCs I also have a lot of metal minis from BD (Before DDM [)]). I have been looking at some more Reaper lead for the Brindol town council and doing a conversion for this guy:

I mean he is the big mother trucker and he horn coming out of his head....I mean if I had a horn coming out of my head I would have some issues...ANGER ISSUES!!!! [:D] He needs his own figure!!! Des, I don't know if you will see this but this image is AWESOME!!!! | | Ambassador of FUN!!!

Ulwai looks an awful lot like the Warden of the Wood, which comes out in War of the Dragon Queen. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse
