| | This is from PHB2. It grants DR 2/- with chosen armor. My question is, if my character has armor that is Adamantine (and gives DR 3 already), if I chose this feat, would it give him DR 5 with that armor, or does it not stack? | | "Look to God and live." | | Does it list anywhere what type of bonuses these are? If it doesn't, I would allow them to stack, as the Adamantine seems like a material bonus, and the feat feels more like an insight type of bonus (knowing how to position yourself for a blow, so that the armour absorbs more of the punishment than you do). Thus, if immobilized, the DR 2 from the feat shouldn't work. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| | Now that you mention it, it does say in the book that "any time you lose your dexterity bonus to Armor Class, you lose the benefit of this feat, because you cannot properly deflect the blows of the enemy." So, it sounds like it would stack. Thanks. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse | |

| | DR with the same vulnerability stacks. So if you have DR 5/magic, and you acquire something that adds DR 5/magic, you have DR 10/magic. The DR 2/- and 3/- from the feat and the armor would stack, though as mentioned, if you're flatfooted or immobilized, you lose the DR 2/- from the feat. :) | | I now have a Have/Want list updated with all my rares! This is incorrect (and would be WAY too powerful):
quote: If a creature has damage reduction from more than one source, the two forms of damage reduction do not stack. Instead, the creature gets the benefit of the best damage reduction in a given situation.

| | Yeah, any DR that stacks will specifically call that out - there are a couple examples I remember seeing here and there. | | Anson on WotC boards | |

There are some feats the specify they stack and a few other abilities here or there. But unless it states it stacks, it does not.
In this case you would get best of the 2. If they had an adamantine weapon, theyd bypass thge 3 and then have to deal with dr 2/-. If they don't it would just be 3. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat. | |
