I CALLED IT!

I don't recall the exact thread, one in which we were ruminating about which minis we'd like to see as Epic figs, and I (jokingly of course) started my email with EPIC TORDEK!!! And now it's here, how funny is that! Now, I probably wasn't the first person to mention this possibility, just on that thread, but when a joke becomes reality...

So, what other not-so-popular Iconics are gonna make it to EPIC? I believe that over the next few sets they'll all find there way into D&D minis. So, is this good or bad?

My vote; if they all look as cool as Tordek, I'm all for it! HUZZAH!

And she's smaller than Nebin! And how about the first Lidda? She's so small she might as well not be there! And let's not start on how frail the first Krusk looks in comparison to all the other Half-Orcs that have entered the scene since then...

(EDIT: Had mistakenly typed "Tordek", not "Krusk" in my first email. I just have had Tordek on the brain!)

Tordek is a Dwarf. Krusk is a Half-Orc [:D]

Mialee was ugly pre-Chainmail and they used the same ugly sculpt (albeit smaller) for Archfiends. Definitely needs an update (especially since she's summoning a Nalfeshneee in recent artwork). I'd still rather see the other Iconics that haven't been made produced first.

It's not a joke to everyone.

To me this shows that the DDM team is aiming to appeal to a broader spectrum of fans and that the line is successful enough and with enough long-term security that they don't feel they have to kowtow to fanboys in order to sell boosters: DDM is growing up and here to stay.

This is not the begining of the end, it is the end of the begining.

*sniffle* That was beautiful! *sob*

Well spoken! I agree completely with the reversal of my tongue-in-cheek Thread Title, may DDM remain a vital part of D&D for as long as D&D is vital!

Alternatively, it's the beginning of the end of the end of the beginning!

I agree, that is sentamental. Maybe WotC should adopt it as a title.

I think it's the middle of the center.

I like epic iconics, espescially DMG 3.0 Mialee on the character wealth page w/ the robe of stars.

Although I like the Epic Tordek, I'm not sure what you mean...

How does re-doing the same "Unique" Iconic character appeal to a "broader spectrum"? huh? That sounds like a pretty specific group to me.

I am however, hoping with you about the long-term security, and that this is just the beginning, and we will all eventually get somewhat of what we are looking for.

We all knew that Tordek, Dwarf Champion was eventually going to make its way into a set, but I was not expecting an epic version - mind you, I'm not surprised either.

Does this mean an epic card could come out for the Orc Champion?

Maybe an epic Lemure? It's those beady little eyes, that stare that says the creature is powerful beyond belief... Now if only it could excercise a bit to shed a bit of that extra weight.
