Tumble is the greatest thing since the backpack. The Dodge/Mobility chain is nice, but not nearly as nice (usually) as having a ton of ranks in tumble. But, not everyone with Mobility has tumble, and this got me thinking about something.

How about a feat that negates the AoO granted by reach? (This probably already exists and I'm just over looking it.) I don't mean Spring Attack, I mean something a little different.

Mobility Expert
Prerequisites: Dodge, Mobility
Benefit: Enemies with reach do not gain attacks of opportunity against you due to their reach.

That's it, pure and simple. If you do something that normally would grant an AoO, purely because you're doing it in a region that's within the reach of another creature, he doesn't get that AoO.

Too much, too little? Not worth it often enough?

I'm not sure if this feat exists or not, but it would be a very helpful feat, especially at higher levels, when you start to fight larger enemies. I would definatly take this feat as a higher-level fighter, if it was a campaign that includes giants and dragons, that is.

For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three.

spring attack allows the character to move in without provoking
with reach. It does not prohibit other opponents from making AoO's.
The improved version of this feat in PHB#2 allows you to designate
two foes for negation of AoO's and adds a second attack as part
of the standard attack action.

I have learned to appreciate this feat as a DM, it screws with the
standard tactics of players and monsters depending which side
of the fence you are on.

Thanks Mark, looks like I'll definitely need to be getting my hands on the PHB II.

This feat would be useful - unless your players have acess to rings of blinking or other sources of concealment. Concealment negates attacks of opportunity just as easily... not to mention letting a rogue sneak attack with no fuss about flanking or whatnot.
