| With all the interest Shoe's RHoD thread has sparked, and the fact that I'm running the adventure myself, I thought it would be a good resource to post what minis DMs are using to represent the various enemies from the adventure.
My game has just started (one session) and the players were approaching Vrath Keep as the session ended, so we aren't too far, but here's a list of what I've used so far.
Ambush
Hobgoblin Regular - Hobgoblin Warrior (De), Hobgoblin Archer (WD)
Bladebearer Hobgoblin - Bladebearer Hobgoblin (Ab)
Doom Hand Cleric - Hobgoblin Impaler (Af)
Hellhound - Hellhound (Ha)
Causeway
6 Headed Hydra - Behir (GoL) (poor substitute, I know, but the next time they see that mini, they're going to seriously underestimate it)
Vrath Keep
Hobgoblin Veterans - Hobgoblin Warrior (De) (They're used to these minis dropping with one swing/shot -evil grin-)
Manticore - Manticore (GoL)
Goblin Worg Riders - Snig, worg rider (WD), Snig the Axe (Ar), Worg (Ha)
Karkilan - Minotaur (GoL)
Wyrmlord Koth - Bugbear Footpad (GoL) (I'm in the process of modding him, turning the morning star into a wand and making the mail around his waist look more like a fur kilt)
Old Warklegnaw - Fomorian (GoL)
Skull Gorge Bridge
Hobgoblin Veterans - Hobgoblin Archers (WD), Hobgoblin Warriors (De)
Hobgoblin Sergeant - Hobgoblin Sergeant (GoL) (skin touched up to remove that day-glow orange look)
Hellhounds - Hellhounds (Ha)
Ozzyrandian - Green Dragon (Ab)
That's as far ahead as I've planned so far. I'd be especially interested in hearing what people are using for the Kulkor Zhul war adepts and mindbenders. I'll update this list with other choices people have made, and my own choices as my group progresses through the adventure.

| thats about as far as i've gotten so far as well, i used pretty much the same minis except the Bugbear Champion of Erythnul for lord koth and Brass Dragon(de)for the greendragon. The Green just looks to tiny and not at all scary for the encounter, the brass is exactly the right size.
The Behir scared the &%$# out of the party even after I told them it was just a proxie for a hydra. [:D]
They skiped the Warklegnaw encounter, i'm hoping I can still steer them towards it later just to get in some roleplaying if nothing else. | | | |

| One major change from the first poster's picks:
3x Worg Riders = primarily Silent Wolf Goblins mounted on Timber Wolves (also seperate, unmounted versions for when they're not mounted)
Here's my list of proxies/models I plan to use picking up where the OP left off:
2x Kulkor Zhul War Adept = Hobgoblin Adept (Chainmail)/Hobgoblin Talon of Tiamat (DQ--pending)
1x Chimera = Chimera (WD)
4x Crimson Tiger Thug = Human Bandit (Ha) and/or Daring Rogue (De)
2x Ettins = Ettin (DK) and Ettin Trooper (Chainmail)
1x Aranea = Aasimar Cleric (Chainmail)/Large Monstrous Spider (DE)
3x Barghests = Barghests (Ha)
2x Greater Barghests = Fiendish Dire Wolverine (AF)
4x Ogre = Ogre (Ha)
8x Blackspawn Raiders = Blackspawn Exterminators (DQ--pending)
1x Lupe = Goblin Scout (Ha) mounted on a Hyena (Ha)
Let's just hope the PCs stay out of "Into the Horde"

6x Ghost Brute/Ghost Dire Lions = Dire Lion (De) or Hellcat (BW--I'm just guessing [:P])
3x Doom Fist Monks = Doom Fist Monks (DQ--pending)
1x Gray Ooze = Ochre Jelly (Ar)
1x Wyrmlord Ulwai = Probably a modified Hobgoblin Archer
5x Doom Hand Clerics = Probably Hobgoblin Impalers
6x Lesser Bonedrinkers = Kobold Zombie (DQ--pending)
1x The Ghostlord = Lich Necromancer (GoL)
2x Gyno/Andro/AnySphinx = Golden Protector (DQ--pending)
4x Hill Giants = mix of Hill Giant (Ar), Hill Giant Barbarian (WD), Hill Giant (Chainmail), and Hill Giant Chieftain (WD)
1x Abithriax = Large Red Dragon (De--one of the few minis that looks substantially better than the Chainmail equiv)
5x Bluespawn Thunderlizards = Redspawn Firebelchers (DQ--pending. If they're readily available, meaning cheap, I'll repaint a few blue)
2x Kulkor Zhul Mindbenders = Hobgoblin Fighters (Chainmail--different enough from Urthok)
1x Wyrmlord Hravek Kharn = Modified Bladebearer Hobgoblin
1x Tyrgarun = Large Blue Dragon (DK)
4x Blue Abishai = Blue Wyrmlings? (DE)
2x Wyvern Zombies = Wyverns (GoL)
1x Bone Devil = Bone Devil (Ar)
1x Night Hag = Night Hag (WD)
2x Bearded Devils = Bearded Devils (Ha)

There's really rather decent coverage available for minis/proxied minis for RHoD. Getting your hands on several Barghests or Bearded Devils is a bit tough for most (luckily, I already have enough [:D]), but overall, not too horrible to put together (OK, the wraiths are going to be a pain as well....[XX(]).

Yeah I agree...Its a real shame..I hope he comes up in a future set.
Unique characters, or "bosses" from publised adventures would be really cool. Major encounters deserve proper minis.

| | Shoe had a nice proxy for the Bonedrinkers that I switched to after seeing it. He used the Dolgaunt Monk. Even though it's larger than it should be I think the image you get is better than say a ghoul from Harbinger. | |

Are there really 24 Blood Ghost Berserkers in one encounter? I was checking the WE for RHoD and it puts that number there. After eBaying today I have 10 [:(] they are hard to get or too expensive for an uncommon. | |

| | The only parts that I can think of that could have that many Blood Ghost Berserkers is Into the Hoard (optional encounter) and one of the phases of the Battle of Brindol where you have to defend a roadblock from wave after wave of enemies. I just briefly skimmed over that section so I could be mistaken. | |

No, the largest regular encounter at any one time is 8 BGB's.
The 24 is if the players do something really dumb and try to take on the horde head on by themselves or if they try to sneak into the Horde and assassinate the commanders. Both cases are supposed to be suicide, or nearly anyway. | | | |

Excellent!! I had forgotten to check the Chainmail line for decent proxies. After reading this, I found 3 of them on a site specializing in out-of-print roleplaying stuff. Painting them will be a nice break from painting Blood Angels space marines.
