I'm curious about the demon lords.
Where were Demogorgon and Orcus first described in first edition?
What modules have they appeared in?
Where does the Tenebrous portion of Orcus's story come from? Is it a module or a novel or unknon?

Post this on ENWorld, or go to wikipedia, and you'll have answers pretty quickly, I believe.

The Tenebrous/Orcus portion of the story comes from the Planescape modules "The Great Modron March" and "Dead Gods", combined. A double-super-module plot. Seriously cool. [:D]

Yeah, I really need to work on my H/W list one of these days...

Orcus and Demogorgon were originally statted in the First Edition Monster Manual, along with Juiblex and about half of the Archdevils.

Orcus and Demogorgon were both in the 1e monster manual, and both became MAJOR icons in D&D culture due to being overused and abused by ten year old DMs sporting imaginations with no brake pedal. I'm betting most of us who cut our teeth during elementary school in those days have at least one story of staring down a demon lord (Yeenoghu, in my case [:)].

I'm betting That if you break down the demographics of people who bought adventure path modules, you'll see a HUGE spike of 30-somethings who bought Bastion of Broken Souls, mostly because it mentioned Demogorgon for the first time in ages. I bought Sunless Citadel and didn't buy any after that... until I thumbed through Bastion and the name "Demogorgon" popped out. That was the quickest buying decision I had made ina while [:D]

Man, I wish I had my old MM I with me now.

For some reason, I've got an itch that can only be cured by Treasure Type "H".

That is one thing I definitely prefer about old school AD&D...the cool demons/devils listed right there with the orcs. Of course, we didn't get Grazzt and some others until the MM II, but that was still pretty core stuff back then.

I think I'm going to have to save up for the Fiendish Codices. I've got me a demon that needs fleshing out...

Always keep mine by the computer, for inspiration. [)]

I've barely started on FCI, and it is worth every penny. Good shtuff. I'm liking it especially since I lost touch during all the 2nd Ed schmozz, so it's helping me catch up on Abysmal Politics...

Well, all my old 1st and 2nd ed. stuff was left with the former DM. I don't even know if he still has it. I really should check, as there was a Dieties & Demigods (with Cthulu) in the batch.

"H" works for me. I wouldn't want to be greedy. [)]

Is there a lot for customization of the demons in the FC I? That's really what I'm looking for.
