| As a favor to me for taking over our Saturday game, my friend has invited me to participate in his Age of Worms campaign. The group already consists of 5 players and I am just trying to figure out what I should play. I really don't want to play a cleric, in part because I don't want to metagame (I realize with the large # of undead that playing a cleric would dominate, I like a challenge) and partly because lately I've been stuck in a support role. I'm just looking for any suggestions for a character that might fit into this group. Luckily they are about to begin the Champion's Belt so its easy to fit a new character according to my DM. The others are: Human Shadowcaster, Human Binder, Shifter Ranger(melee-style), Halfling Rogue/Cleric, and Human Barbarian.
All official WOTC books are allowed, no restrictions on race. Alignment allowed is any good or neutral. Level is 8.

| Actually, the only thing being a cleric will help for is keeping everyone alive.
A pure cleric or healer will be invaluable in the later stages of the adventure path. | | Champion of the Mimic; Knight of the Caryatid Column Called Shots: Unhallowed - Tomb Mote Vindicated Called Shots: Blood Wars - Solar Aberrations 60/60, Deathknell 60/60, Angelfire 60/60, Underdark 60/60, Wardrums 60/60, WotDQ 60/60

| I know you don't want to hear it, but the lack of a pure cleric may cause trouble down the road. . . =/
Personally (and this is from someone who's read the Adventure Path but not played it), I'd go with a Paladin or a Psion.

| Hello,
As one who has read the entire Age of Worms adventure path I would echo those above. A single classed cleric would be good for the party. A single classed Wizard for versatility would also be valuable (espeically if you can scribe a bunch of scrolls). Barring that, Paladin would be another good choice.

| Having played through part of the adventure myself, but having not read it completely, I would consider something like a Spirit Shaman or a Hexblade.
That being said, without our cleric (stingy as she can be with the healing) we'd all be dead... I'd consider going with a Healer myself and head for the Combat Medic prestige class.
Reading your above post though, you could always pick up a cleric later on if one of your PCs dies off...
If you don't want to be in a support role, go with something like the Spirit Shaman or the suggestions above. | | Champion of Tanis Half-Elven
