| Answer: 5 dead stirges.
I was running a 2/2 Elven Fighter / Mage with Spiked Chain and Combat Reflexes and 20 Dex. When we saw the stirges I told everybody to get behind me. Stirges flew up, and none of them got through. I rolled 3 natural 20's -- Elf-boy was in the zone!
And our DM got to use my Sirges. [:D]
Anyway, just thought I'd share.

| LOL that’s awesome.
I remember my first encounter with stirges. We had moved a book pedestal to reveal a 5 foot wide whole filled with a dozen of stirges. DM asked us roll initiative. I won. My halfling wizard proceeds to cast flaming sphere down the whole. No more stirges.
