| I was zipping through ebay and saw a ton of classic modules on there. If you had too choose some classics too covert too 3.5 what would they be. I would love too see.. Adventure in Ruins(Pool of Raidiance..sp?) love that storyline as it got me started in D&D Borderlands Keep (another classic) Castle Amber ..I believe it was the second one for Ilse of Dread...remember playing it, it was fun. | | Champion of the Peryton Vindicated Champion : Pit Fiend, Devourer ATG: Fog Giant DW: Duergar Priest RPG Only!!!! | I'd love to see
Against the Giants, natch
The Slave Lords modules -- great adventure, and I think it would be superb in 3.5
Baltron's Beacon -- This is my favorite single adventure of all, a VERY challenging and diverse story
Dare we hope?

| For 1st edition Against the Giants trilogy would be awsome. Ive never read or played it but the series that follows after the Giants that has the city of the drow would rule. As for 2nd edition Id really like Dragon Mountain, Rod of Seven Parts and Return to the Tomb of Horrors. All 3 are awsome delux boxed sets. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight | |

| Castle Amber was tons o' fun! One of our players was transported to the Elemental Plane of Food at the magical banquet! Ravenloft is awesome, of course, and it is getting updated. My bro brought me back the original 2E module from GenCon. | | | |

| I was at the D&D seminar at gencon and they were taking suggestions
for more updates such as the one they are doing for the original I6
Ravenloft module.
Some suggestions from the audience were
Castle Greyhawk
Undermountain
The "giants" series
Barrier Peaks
Dragon Mountain
Night Below
And probably a few others I can't remember.
I agree with Kyrin that Balton's Beacon would be awesome. One of my favorite 1st ED modules.

| These ones are a must IMO:
Keep on the Borderlands
The Queen of Spiders/GDQ mega-series (G1: Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, G2: Glacial Rift of the Frost
Giant Jarl, G3: Hall of the Fire Giant King, D1: Descent into the
Depths of the Earth, D2: Shrine of the Kuo-Toa, D3: Vault of the Drow,
and Q1: Queen of the Demonweb Pits)
U Series (U1 Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, U2 Danger at Dunwater, U3 Final Enemy)
Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth

Thank you for jogging my memory. This one was brought up and they
seemed quite interested in the idea. After all, Saltmarsh is already in
the DMG 2 so it is a natural choice.
Tsojcanth w/ Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun would be quite cool as well.

| | I wouldn't mind seeing the original Pharao reissued as well. I never cared too much for the follow-ups (Oasis of the White Palm and Lost Tomb of Martek). Pharao on the other hand gave my group so many hours of pure fun!
Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth was also great as mentioned, together with the Forgotten Temple. Dwellers of the Forbidden City was cool too. I guess I kind of liked the "I"-modules! :) | | If voting could really change things, it would be illegal. | |

| My all time favorite has to be The lost Island of Castantamir. The story, details and background for it is great and I have already run it 4 times in 3rd and 3.5 editions. I also have ran a long 3rd edition campaign based on the "ruins of adventure" module. I liked a lot of the other adventure series as a kid, but reading through them nowadays they are pretty crappy. The lack of detail is staggering compared to what we get now. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | Personally, I'd stick to the ones that were designed as regular campaign adventures (GDQ, ToEE) and stay away from the ones that were designed as tournament scenarios (A series). The A series contains all sorts of encounters that taken individually are interesting but taken as a whole result in a series that makes very little sense at times. (The stockade adventure is mostly an exception.) It also suffers from the arbitrary 'you lose all your stuff' syndrome of A4, which in addition to being bad design, just doesn't work right with spontaneous casters in the rules system. GDQ, on the other hand, is at least fairly consistent in terms of tone, etc. Any of these old modules would need extensive storyline/NPC work to be up to modern standards, I think. Another good choice for updating would be the old D&D (not AD&D) module Rahasia, which is one of the most innovative modules of its time in terms of design. Ravenloft is already being done, or I'd suggest it as well - so much better than Hickman's DL stuff. | | Anson on WotC boards | |

| The 1e dragonlance modules were bad. Not a fan I've done the Useries upconverted to 3.5 and let me tell you it was a great campaign, Up converting was east and the players loved it. Though the U series tends to be more of a thinkers series then a hack n slash. I want GDQ redone please. Heck I'll upconvert and submit it myself if Wotc wants to revamp it. It would be phenominal. The characters would have to end up around lvl 20 for the finally though. | | Join the fun of the Eternal Campaign

[/QUOTE] Hrm, well I disagree there. There is a fundamental difference between 1e adventures and those published for 2, 3, and 3.5. Keep in mind many of them were set in Greyhawk where the Mantra is to provide the skeleton, and allow the DM to flesh it out. The A series is one of my favorites of all time. A1: Yep, you need to include more clues to connect it to A2, but it is not that hard, and frankly as presented, you can customize to perfectly fit where you place it, how you play, who your players are playing against in it! Of course A4 starts with the party without weapons! Spoiler warning!!!!! - - - - - - - - - - - THEY WERE DEFEATED BY THE SLAVERS at the end A3, and were being held to be sold into slavery. Of course they should be left with nothing at the start of A4. That is how A3 was designed. IF you PC's manage to defeat the slavelords in A3, then you don't run A4... What DM doesn't like the opportuntiy to remove those trubblesom overpowered magic items from the party.... All the same, my choice for which to be redone would be based on level: Low Level: B10: Nights Dark Terror. Really just for the first part of the module. Wondeful siege scene at a woodland outpost with stockade defences against gobinoids. Even came with counters to use... perfect for an 3.5 DDM compatible update Honorable mention: C3 I agree with Brad, I've used this one several times, B2, such a classic... U1: My favorite level 1 adventure Mid Level: A2 Secret of the Slavers Stockade My favorite of the A's Markessa is such a great NPC to haunt your party Honorable mention: C1 Hidden Shrine of Tomachan: Nothing like playing against the clock to get some slow PC's moving! High Level: G1-3. The Giants just rock, particularly in 3.5, this would move from a 1e adventure for characters level 5-8 to a 3.5 adventrues for characters near 14th level or so. Honorable mention: D1-3 These would require a box set for 3.5 treatment though. Pat E | | "Games evolve. Otherwise we'd still be pushing rocks around the dirt. | Favourite classic module???
Where to start:
In no partiuluar order
The Tomb of the Lizard King - love those vampiric lizardfolk Temple of Elemental Evil The Scourge of the Slavelords (The Slaver series) The Queen of Spiders Ravenloft - actually decapitated Strahd in that one Ruins of Adventure Curse of the Azure Bonds The Desert seires (Pharoah, Oasis of the White Palm etc.)
Which one would I love for WotC to re-work?
Definitely the Slavelords series.
