if given the choics between a psion character or a wilder character why choouse a wilder. seems the psion hs more powers to choose from especially with the added disciplines. sure the wilder can spend more points on a particular power to do more damage but the lack of choices must hurt him/her in the long run. plus the better hit dice/melle attacks are not much comfort knowing your probably in a lot of trouble if you have to use a sword to survive?

also those playing psions which disciplines have u had the most success/fun with?

I don't like beeing a mixed character (caster/fighter). If I play a character I always choose one form (mostly a caster type) and specialize myself.

But I think the Wilder/Psion is comparable to Druid/Sorcerer. You take the first to get your "attackpower" and some spells to make you more threating, while the latter has no other purposes then buffing your friends and massmurder your enemies.

I played a psion(Nomad) once. I chose the nomad because of his unique powers and the cool story you can build around a "Nomad" and his appereance in a group...

I love playing psions and psionic classes. What discipline I choose depends on the type of campaign. I played a kalashtar telepath a couple of years back in a game that had us doing a lot of infitrating, I would sneak or bluff my way inside and then pave the way for the others.
In another game we needed a power mage so I played a human psion psychokinesis. One of the benefits of psion energy spells is you can change the energy descriptor everytime you manifest no more fretting about only having fireball when giong up against demons . In third campaign I was a soulknife, soulknifes are okay but very feat starved, you really need a lot of feats to make a really good straight up soulknife.

I have never liked the wilder, no varity. You can do one thing very well but if you can't do that one thing your out of luck. I had a friend who build an awesome wilder could do massive damage at low levels but if somehow that power(s) could be negated(or wasn't usefull in a particular situation) he was plain out of luck and reduced to shooting a crossbow or just standing around in the encounter.
