I've used shooter glasses

| | A buddy of mine does the same with clear cubes, each one an inch high (or more) so you can know the exact height. There is a product out there that are magnetic discs that can be placed underneath a fig that shows status. One color signifies flight and the number signifies height. Other discs show stunned, unconscious, poisoned, invisible, etc. It's aneat idea but I don't like modding figs (you need to glue a magnet to the base to make the others stick so you can move the stack around). | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Unfortunately, the MK cylinders are a little too big -- they're about 1.5 inches in diameter and take up more space than most PCs.
To show flying characters, I usually place them on a die, with the number of the die indicating how high they are in 5' increments. For example, to show a PC flying at 30', I'd place him on a die with a 6 on top. This works better with DDM minis than with others as the bottom is flatter and they don't need to be balanced as carefully.

| I'm not sure the exact measurements, but, why not check the clear plastic candy holding candy cane shaped tubes that kids get for Christmas?
If you cut down the flat end on a few of them, you could probably have a pretty good array of clear plastic cylinders. | | Completed good trades with Demagogue, PigSnot, DoB, and Alepulp.

| I just make flying PCs flap their arms
More practically, I have some nice 1" clear d6 dice that I put miniatures on to represent temporarily flying minis. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References

| | I saw a pic somewhere of this guy's gaming table. He tied the minis to string/fishing wire and tied that to a push pin and stuck it to the ceiling. It was a pretty spiffy setup. | | Vindicated Night Below Champion of the Digestor!!! | We use two things, both of which every gamer should have , a die to mark how high the PC is flying or levitating and the small plastic table a lot of pizza places use in there boxes to prevent the pizza from getting smushed. Low tech and inexpensive but it works for us. | | | |

| aleatools magnetic status effect thingies they're cool.
You can write the height you're flying on them in dry erase on the side of them. You can also color code lots of the same monster.

| | I work in a hospital. When someone's blood sugar is critically low, we give them an injection of dextrose solution. One day I noticed that the glass tube (like a shot glass) that the dextrose was in was about an inch in diameter. It's about six inches tall. You can put a D12 inside to show how high you are (5' increments and all). The glass is relatively thin, so having several in a box doesn't add 10 pounds of encumbrance to by bag. | | E-mail | Have/Want List | Reference thread "Whatever you do, don't drop a blade barrier on a troll."

| | One of my players made a bunch of 1" blocks at 1", 2", and 3" high that have velcro on them for stacking. Pros: Easy to tell how high the PC or enemy is at and there is no mistaking the fact that they are not on the ground. Cons: Unstable if you get too high and nobody can hang out under them. We tend to use the old dice boxes too. | | | |
