| Posted By Skyscraper on 01/16/2007 10:46 AM Indeed, i was not thinking about 10' corridors. Still, it appears likely that a good majority of fights will force you to chose one of the two options.
Sky That's ok. Fighting in dungeon environments will make it likely that one or the other will apply a reasonable amount of the time. Maybe the enclosed one (AC bonus) should increase modestly as the dungeoneer advances. Say to +2 then to +3.
I will get back on the other issues you brought up. Thanks for all the ideas. (I'm supposed to be working now.)

| solid class now that all those revisions have been made. I would let a PC use your class in one of my adventures. Not much else to say about it. Im a big sneak attack fan so the lack of it being in your bc would make me as a player steer clear. (though it makes sense that it isnt included) I think a good level 20 capstone would put the cherry ontop of this class. maybe +2damage and to hit while underground? thats my | | chaotic nuetral means never having to say your sorry. | |

| I'm thinking over my last suggestions, and on second thought i don't think that adding explosives-related abilities would be aligned with the flavor you gave the dungeoneer.
However, here is another idea for an ability:
Block Portal (level 1?): with the proper wedges (i.e. that can be found within his usual dungeoneer's equipment pouch), the dungeoneer can wedge a door or portal to keep it shut, as a standard action (not counting that taking out a wedge would normally be an additional move-equivalent action unless it's stored out of reach). The effect is equivalent to the Hold Portal spell (i.e. portal considered locked, add 5 to the normal DC for forcing open the portal). He can also remove his own wedges from the other side of the portal automatically, if the case arises.

| | I have now made more modifications to this class. I may put the current revisions in a new thread to decrease confusion over previous replies not relating to current class information. | | "Look to God and live." | | I think you are just about there. I defintely wouldn't add anything else at this point if you are happy with it, but the balance of always useful and situationally useful abilities I think is good. You may find you need some playtesting for the final tweaks at this point. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Don't know if you caught this tidbit from the description of the upcoming dungeonscape product from Wizards:
"For players, the factotum class is a cunning wanderer, a jack-of-all-trades who can cope with anything the dungeon throws at him."
This will probably give you some good ideas...
PS didn't read the entire thread so my apologies if this has already been stated. | | Champion of Devas Ref list: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5179(42+ completed trades/sales)

| | No, I don't think it has. It'll be interesting to see how the pros devised type of class, although not exactly the same. You can often get good insight by comparing the results when you begin at the same premise. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| | Hmmm...factotum just sounds strange. The class might be interesting, but that name is terrible. Thanks for the heads up, though. | | "Look to God and live." | | It does. I fel like it should be math related with a name like that. Well, maybe the class will overcome this handicap, like Xtreme Xplorer (my spelling). | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| factotum Main Entry: fac·to·tum Pronunciation: fak-'tO-t&m Function: noun Etymology: New Latin, literally, do everything, from Latin fac (imperative of facere do) + totum everything 1 : a person having many diverse activities or responsibilities 2 : a general servant
Well, the name fits, but I don't think a lot of people are familiar with the word. I just looked it up on Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. | | "Look to God and live." | | Just came back from B&N and saw a novel by Charles Bukowski titled Factotum. Never read the book, but if it's like other Bukowski stories, and the Pclass is even slightly based on it, it could be very interesting. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| | I was fortunate for DMing a lot of slots at DDXP to get a copy of Dungeonscape as well as Complete Scoundrel. Factotum is a neat class. It is the perfect class for filling any and all niches. While not great at any one thing, it can do a little arcane, a little healing, a little sneak attack, a little tanking, etc. You can really have fun with the class. But it is very different than the Dungeoneer. The closes in that book would be the Fighter variant they provide. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| | I just picked up a Dungeonscape book also. Yes, the factotum has a few things in common (d8 HD, trapfinding), but is quite different from the dungeoneer. | | "Look to God and live."
