| | I suppose it could be a problem depending on the general speed of the rest of your party. The last Dwarf I played had the powerful charge feat, he might of gotten there a bit slower but when he did he packed a big wallop. You can always try to acquire some magic to boost your speed like Boots of Striding and Springing. | | | |

| My advice is to min/max. Normally I don't advocate it, but I also hate having a slow PC.
Being a dwarf and a fighter you probably have a high CON, right? You should consider taking the trait from Unearthed Arcana - I think it was just called Quick - that gives +10 to your base speed but you subtract 1 from your HP each time you level up. Your CON and racial bonuses should more than offset the downside enough to make it worthwhile. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

| Low speed is really a hindrance IMO.
I don't know if you're actually looking for solutions or just feel like talking about the speed, but I'd take one level of barbarian if you find speed to be problematic, it's a very useful mix for fighters anyway, rage + speed increase is just too good to pass on. Plus, as a dwarf, your speed is not reduced by wearing medium armor, so you can wear a breast plate and still have a 30' movement.

| | The Divine Vigor feat is also a way to get around this, if you take a level in Cleric and above-average Charisma for a Dwarf. | | Please donate BLOOD at http://www.monstersgame.co.uk/ac=vid&vid=11018554 Champion Of Kaz the Minotaur Knight of ALL Draconians. | Many people also take a 1 level dip into barbarian for the speed bonus, depending on your armor type...

| | I find it annoying with a human fighter in plate. Other option that don't involve feats are waitng for Haste to be cast (40' is a lot better than 20') or getting Boots of Striding and Springing. It's not too expensive and then you have 30' like a human. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| I hate my characters moving slowly. I've only played Dwarves twice and both were one shots at a convention or at Gameday. First one I was a fighter and the fight was half over before I got there, the other time I was a cleric and the party was smart enough not to get too far ahead of me.
One Barbarian level, Boots of Striding and Springing, Haste and the Quickness trait are all good ideas. I usually just play a human to avoid the speed problem that I know will annoy me too much. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

| Invest in potions of Fly. They aren't terribly expensive (esp. at higher levels) and your speed (and manueverability) are greatly improved.
Party battle tactics can make a huge difference about perceptions of speed. Our group developed a party consisting of 4 ranged attackers (magical or mundane) and a Dwarven Defender. Speed didn't matter as much to the PCs as it did to the monsters they encountered (why run headlong into battle when you can force your opponents to come to you?).
As has been pointed out you can always take a level of Barbarian. Offset the armor restriction by investing in a suit of Mithral Plate (counts as medium armor).
Another (more complicated option) is take 4 levels of Duskblade (PH2) and the Battlecaster feat (Complete Arcane). You get Swift Expeditious Retreat (+30 ft speed for 1 round as a swift action) a number of times per day (plus other potentially invaluable spells such as Stand and Rouse) and you can cast your spells with impunity while wearing heavy armor (no arcane failure). You don't sacrifice BAB (duskblades have fighter BAB progression) to accomplish this, either. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie?
