| I just got "turned on" to these!!!! They are super great.
I just opened up the new set "Hidden Crypts". Very Good.
Plenty of caskets, Platforms, and now odd shaped rooms.
2 new sets down the way.
April: Ruin of the Outdoors: Trees and Outdoor stuff? Nov. Caverns of Underdark: Cavern & Cave Stuff
These should be great too. Anybody else use/love these???
or am I the last one to find out about them.....???? GRIN | | Cheers !! ----THOR (Atlanta GA) Kauke@Juno.com (E-Mail me for a current Trade List) www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=Thor

| It is an excellent way to form dungeons. I like them very much.

| I love the dungeon tiles. I can't believe that it took WOTC so long to think of them.
I'd like future sets to consist of above ground settings with wooden floors and staircases, furniture and whatnot. I'd also like a set concentrating on wilderness environments - grass, boulders, tree's. And of course I'd like for them to make two of the large tiles in each set be designed as one large room. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

| I can't wait to start using them, they are certainly a step up from blank mats and markers...

| | SO we cracked open some of the other packs this weekend, and even just adding a few tiles to a drawn map, like baziers, really made it pop. The color adds a lot to the "tan" environment of the normal battlemap. Please, WOTC, continue to make more! | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Lemme get this straight: do you build entire floorplans for rooms and dungeons with the tiles, or do you simply add a few of them on top of the battle map for visual effect? Or both?

| | We just used them on top of the map for the most part. The adventure that we were playing wasn't condusive to building the entire map out of them, and we were also a bit slow that day. But there have been times when we did make entire maps out of them. Just not this time. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Hmm, okay. I thought people only made entire maps out of them, was surprised to read your comment. I think i'd actually be more inclined to use them on top of the battle mat myself, thinking about it.

| | There's a gaming group at a store I frequent that does use the tiles for all of their maps. I think mixing the two can get the best results. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| | You can't do everything that you need to do with just the tiles yet. Anything in the wilderness requires either a fantastic location map or a drawn out on the battlemap. They're just three sets in and seem to be very popular. They'll make more and they should be able to provide for more situations as more sets come out. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

| Actually, using the tiles only partly appeals to me. I'm not sure i'd want to stick to tiles-only maps, as i want full flexibilty to do whatever room/environment i feel like doing. However, adding some details such as wells, chandeliers, floor tiles or whatnot appears like an interesting idea.

| Question: when you put tiles on the battle mat, how to you prevent them from being accidentally displaced all the time?

| Can't edit my message for some reason, but the first line should have read "Actually, using the tiles only partly to identify terrain appeals to me." (Read: with the rest being conventionally drawn on the battle mat)

| | I've seen people ziplock tiles of the same shape together to keep them organized. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Personally, with all the releases they are planning, I can see being able to make whole dungeons with them.
This is how I will be using them.
We play on a green felt board, with removabe 1 inch grid marking (taut string) I plan to do the outdoor encounters on the felt, and use the tiles to do dungeons/cities. They don't slide on the felt at all, which, in playing around with it, was a minor issue laying them on a battle mat.
