My local gaming group is looking at trying something fun and different running a gladiator league where we'd build characters and then pit them against each other. Anyone know where we could find rules for building characters, matches etc? I thought there was something on wotc's site a while ago? Thanks!

A few years ago there was The Delver bash. You could probably google it.

Not sure how up-to date it is.

The people who are bringing you Tokkens have developed a kind of gladiator game for use with the items. They provide base characters that you then would add on magic items of a certian amount and then have them fight each other. Something like that might be a good starting point for you, or at least inspiration:

TokkenMaster (rules, characters, etc)

Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

Try it now. I forgot the quotation marks in the link so it didn't appear.
