Plane of Shadow

04/10/2007 9:12 AM
two wizards cast rift (I think thats the right spell). One cast it to the positive energy plane and the other cast it to the negative energy plane. The openings to the planes would be facing eachother.
Would a black hole form? Would there be choas? Or would nothing happen?

Sounds like it is your choice. It seems like the plana effects may be cancelled out, but there could also be explosions. I'm really not sure.

Negative energy touching positive energy. Itwas the first thing I thought of.

What do you think would happen?
An army of fuzzy bunnies would appear and immediately start looking cute. 3 rounds later a herd of unicorns would show up. 3 rounds after that a herd of big-eyed kittens would appear.

The general over-cute-ness of it all would surely destroy all witnesses.Â

Beats me.  I suppose they could simply cancel out.  Or, maybe they'd collide and explode and do a bunch of damage to nearby things.  Or maybe they'd open a rift to the elemental planes.

DM's call, I think.  The spell's not in the SRD, so I'm not really familiar with it.

Idaho. Yes, we have Gamers in Idaho.

I did some independent testing of my own. Now, i didn't have access to positive and negative planes, so i did some theorizing. I figured i would need some other opposite, like matter and ant-matter. Bingo! I used...

Pasta and anti-pasta.

On trip to the local Italian restaurant later, I have determined that you will get a unigue tasting salad that goes well with a nice flavored lemonade.

Seriously though, I would say either cancel each other out, or massive wild-magic zone.

I was hoping they would cancel out so you were as hungry as when you started and could eat more.

I think each of the wizards would set up a toll booth between the two rifts and charge a few GPs to the denizens of each plane as they tried to move their armies back and forth warring.

Me, I'd set up a hotdog stand and enjoy the show.

It sounds like the ultimate hot tub experience, too. Instead of going from a hot to cold tub, go from negative to positive energy plane.

the stuff that sits in the fridge for a few weeks and gets all hard and crusty but yet you still eat it cause it looks good!
As for the planes I would say a wild magic zone or dead magic zone.

What's anti-pasta?
Things that really don't like pasta.  Eggplant and worms, for example.  Benjaman Jones, for example.Â

No, really, it's some specific type of food eaten as a course before pasta (anti meaning before in Italian).  Check it out at wikipedia.

And just so you look it up correctly, it's spelled "antipasto", a thing I get wrong often as well. It is an hors d'oeuvre and it translates as "before the meal". No pasta envolved.

Wizard A would look at Wizard B and say,

"See...this is why I told you to be a Cleric. You're always doing this. What good is it going to do us when you cast the same spell as I do and counterattack my spell? You just wasted both of our highest level spells. If you were a Cleric, you could have buffed us. But nooooo, Mom tells me I'm going to become a great Wizard one day so YOUUUU have to prove to everyone that you'll become an even better Wizard. And now look at us....we're bafoons & we're not even a well balanced group. Remember when you were taken down by all those goblins that grappled you at once? If you were a cleric that would have never happened. I would have even settled for you being a Bard."

LOL! Your post reminds me of an actually conversation I heard at a roleplaying convention after a character died:

Player A: "Crap this stinks. Now when I get raised I'm going to lose a level."
Player B: "Well if our cleric didn't multiclass he'd be able to cast true res by now."
Player C (cleric): "Shut up!"

An antipasto is a wonderful Italian salad that is covered in meats, cheeses and olives.  I think you can order it at Olive Garden.  THere's gotta be one near you.  Substitute a real Italian restaraunt if there isn't.

Mmmmmm... with creamy italian dressing.

You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com

Wait, Olive Garden is not a real Italian restaurant? Are the commercials lying to me?
