By the way, what's it like on the Canary islands? What's the climate like? Glad to hear about your interest as not many people know where they are. Well, most people only know that Europe is an old continent with a fair city called Paris (lol).
We usually have a fine weather with a lot of sunny days during the year. Anyway, there are also many micro-climates. The North of the occidental islands is greener than the south and that is much more evident in my island: Tenerife. As volcanic islands you have some dry zones in the South. Some of the oriental islands look much like the south of Tenerife, while the occidental ones have some greener zones like Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma. This last one seems to be quite feared by you, the Americans.
