| I haven't voted because none of the campaign worlds strongly appeal to me. One complaint I have about various campaign settings is that the organizational structure of the books is so different from the Players Handbook and DMG. If the formatting were the same, then that would be a strong plus for the campaign setting. Not all of the same types of information are provided. For example, a new race or version of a race is in a given campaign setting, and they will leave out statistics for age or height and weight. This is a trivial example, but I am just trying to provide an example off the top of my head.
None of the campaign settings have a flavor that I really like. I have been playing in Dragonlance for over two years and have enjoyed most of it. My biggest complaints with the adventures is that there is a heavy railroading feel to it, like we as a party must go down this path in this order. Period. I also don't like how the entire adventure series is non-stop without chances to have weapon enchantments added, since it takes several days.
I really don't like Eberron, but won't go in detail at the present.
Forgotten Realms has a couple of problems for me. One is the the main book is 3.0. Another is the overwhelming number of deities. The whole setting just seems to be overdone in terms of how much stuff there is.
Greyhawk--I realize that the core rules are assumed Greyhawk. However, there isn't the breadth of information for Greyhawk like there was in earlier editions. I don't really know much about Greyhawk.
Those last two I have never heard of. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

| FR has been a favorite of mine for awhile. The FRCS is probably the best sourcebook I've read to date. It holds up extremely well for being 3.0 because it's best parts are the historical and regional descriptions. If I could I would have voted Eberron a strong second. Although I haven't played in it yet, the setting is really solid and different from the normal stereotypical fantasy settings.
One D&D world I've gotten really into recently is Ptolus, Monte Cook's world that he had in mind when writing D&D 3rd ed. Mainly just one city, it's depth is amazing. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| | Yes. The campaign book came out last year at GenCon. It's very big and expensive, but it encapsulates a lot of material that would fill up several lesser books (I think it includes a couple of previously printed mods as well). | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| Dark sun was nice, but needed a bit more than the gimmick. It was coming along nicely before 3.0, IMHO.

| Greyhawk is the traditional default D&D world. I almost liek how the world isnt at detailed as FR. Its almost as if in FR you are afraid to adventure in it because you'll do things that will contradict what is "really" supposed to happen.
And thanks to Dungeon Magazine there is plenty of 3rd edition Greyhawk stuff.
I wouldnt worry about Dark Sun or Planescape being on the list. They were fun gimmicks and are liked but hardly a #1 favorite. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

| | Hmm...I'm partial to both Birthright and Magnamund, neither of which are on the list. Birthright presumably will never see an update and Magnamund has received marginal support from Mongoose (although they did put out a handful of miniatures which is cool). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. What's funny is that I never saw Planescape as different from FR or the other 2nd ed worlds, just another part of it. For me I liked the twists from standard campaigns that were in it. Never played it, but always wanted to. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

| I voted Greyhawk, I just like the default world of D&D. My current campaign is in Eberron, though I don't think I've quite mastered the Eberron feel. I'm a real fan of gothic horror mixed with fantasy, so my favourite D&D realm would be Ravenloft, but that wasn't on the list. | | "No disintegrations? | | I would have taken Ravenloft, but it wasn't on the list. I voted Mystara - the old adventures are still some of the best to me, and the 2nd Edition Karameikos box set was top notch. FR is sometimes fun, but there's been so much done on it, that it's hard to surprise pc's (and the changing of the weave/shadow weave stuff is turning me off). | | Shottglazz "Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand; I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me."
