| I agree, the Baldur's gate series was the best of all time in my book. But the, I've played hours of Rogue, Larn and Moria before anyone thought of adding graphics to a D&D game. So what do I know?

| I always avoided Shadowkeeper. The game isn't so difficult as to need hex editing.

| I'd have liked to help, but lack of gameplay, and lack of time, make for extremely little help. I have a buddy that's religious about the game, almost, but he's off a basic training now, and won't be back till December.

| Ok Baldur's Gate II SPOILER BELOW:
I'm trying to remember these right... At gate district, there's a an inn, which has a hidden door downstairs. behind it, you find a crypt. When you enter the crypt a lich awakens... but using haste you'll be able to visit his chest before he's able to do anything. Just note that the chest is locked. IIRC it contains a good sword with some special against undead, Daystar.
There's some other swords too, Equalizer needs parts, and you can buy one +3 charisma -boosting sword from copper coronet once you finish a mission at slums. I'm not quite sure is there swords, but in general if you can get 2 bonus items (my pack had a bonus disc) for the game, they add two stores to the game that have extraordinary items.

| The BG series are the best CRPG ever made IMO. And there are tons of modules to replay/enhance them if you wish (but you should play them "as is" the first time). The baldur's gate dark alliance games on the PS2 are diablo-like games (but well done ; I just finished BGDA1 last week) | | Vindicated Champion of the PSEUDODRAGON (Unhappy) vindicated champion of the DRYAD Against the giants called shot : huge cloud giant female Demonweb called shot : ghost | |

Posted By zenthrus on 07/21/2007 12:28 PM Big Picture-Baldur's Gate Trilogy-Neverending Journey (BP-BGT-NEJ) Mod is ridiculously awesome. Let's you play from the very first steps in BG's Candlekeep all the way through the Throne of Baal using the BGII engine. Also includes about a dozen well-written/scripted/voice-acted mods. It does eat up about 8GB of hard disk but it's WELL worth the time and effort. http://forums.spellholdstudios.net/index.php?showtopic=10924

| You're referring to Lilarcor, an intelligent +2 two-handed sword that renders its wielder immune to confusion and charm effects. And it's not stupid so much as annoying: there's only so many times you can listen (the sword's speech is vocalized) to it yell, "Boo-yah! Throw a coin in that gusher!"

Planestape: Torment was a pretty decent game, but I didn't really like the characters that much, and I didn't like the graphics.
The Fallout series is cool too, but it just doesn't have the roleplaying and character depth that Baldur's Gate does.

| Lilarcor was the from the sewer quest beneath the slums right? "Yoink, got yer nose!"
I still love playing through BG from time to time, starting with I and going on to ToB, most of the time I'm getting bored when I reach the second part of BGII though.
I hated the linearity and hack and slash of Icewind Dale, but PS: Torment is indeed magnificent. NWN series are cool as well. Original NWN is extremely cool with some of the fanbased modules like IIRC: * Eye of the Beholder * A dance with rogues + sequel * Castle Ravenloft + Beyond the Gate * Darkness at Daggerford * etc.
I could have gotten the names wrong, however, my memory sucks!

| | I actually just re-beat Baldur's Gate 1/Baldur's Gate 2/Throne of Bhaal last night (not all at once, of course). I played through as a elven mage/thief, which made for interesting tactics (Tenser's Transformation was a rather powerful spell). I really enjoyed it, and for some reason I think this was the easiest I've ever had with playing through the games before. The only battle that I needed to reload over and over for was Sarevok; even Irenicus and Melissan were easy (especially since I could pepper their "spawn" points with 6-7 traps). | | "Clearly a case of too many hunchbacks and not enough mad scientists..." | |

| I loved the Baldur's Gate Series. Fellow companions that actually have some personnality and a big epic story line that took long time developing.
I admit to using Shadowkeeper a time or two after finishing BG2 the first time. I liked using it to change the appearance of my Ranger so that he'd look cool in the Shadowdragon armor although I had to change it back to make the White Dragon armor look nice. It was also helpful to know what magic items could be avialable inorder to maximize their use when the time came. It was also kind of interesting to give several characters the same containers so that two characters could access them.
I liked the Neverwinter Nights add ons but I basically hated the henchmen in the basic game. I almost never took one of the casters (except to get their trinkets/story line goodies). The follow ups were good for the henchmen and I'd really like to know how to edit the original story with those smarter henchmen who could take orders better and whos inventories I could manage. What good is having a big strong barbian around if he doesn't help carry out the loot? | | | |

I used shadowkeeper to change the elf model to human though, because I hate how Elves look in BG. I now finished all schapter 2 side quests and just paid Gaelan Baele his 15.000 GP.

| You shouldn't pay over 10 dollar.
IIRC, I saw a package of:
* Baldur's Gate I + Expansion * Baldur's Gate II + Expansion * Icewind Dale I + Expansion * Icewind Dale II * Neverwinter Nights + Both Expansions
For 25 Euros in total (something like 35 dollars I guess).
Best wishes,
