| The new incarnation of Dungeon is probably your best bet.

I don't know how difficult/not it is to get published. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com | |

| That poses some problems. My adventure is an inch thick are they going to fit it into one edition of the Dungeon magazine? I have multiple villains in my adventure. How would I write my adventure idea when it asks villain not villains? By plot synopsis, it means a summary of what the PCs would be doing and why, right?

| | Talk with Coy Kissee (ckissee here on the boards). I believe he owns/runs a D&D d20 publishing company. I know that he puts out both pdfs and printed materials. | | "Clearly a case of too many hunchbacks and not enough mad scientists..." | |

Yes, I believe so.Â
You could try a 3rd party publisher, Sword & Sorcery, Green Ronin, Atlas, et. al.
You could try here on ENworld.

I'm pretty sure some of the other board members have some publishing experience and can be of more help. Â Â

| Posted By ckissee on 08/22/2007 8:51 AM You could always submit your idea to a third-party publisher as well.  As GuJiaXian stated, I'd be happy to take a look at it. Heh, I'm glad. Didn't mean to put you on the spot and offer your services like that!

| WotC does take sunmissions as well, but they're pretty strict about the guidelines. They had an opening a while back about it, IIRC.
I'd still recommend a 3PC (3rd party Company) after Wizards, though.

| | You're probably going to have to cut it down no matter who you send it to, especially if you're a first time author. Make sure before you send it off you find out what their policy is for submitted material. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but there may be a policy of a company that you may not like. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

Otherwise, your submission will immediately be placed in the circular file. Seriously. Following publisher guidelines (for any genre of writing) requires strict adherence to their guidelines. Ever try submitting a screenplay? Just formatting it correctly can take several days (and if the formatting isn't perfect, they'll chuck it).
For first-time writers, I would strongly recommend starting out small and working up to big. Also, it typically helps (in the gaming-specific industry) if your submission includes only your own ideas (i.e. don't submit something based on FR or DL or even Eberron...create your own world).

| | I'll second Zenthrus' in his idea of keeping it rather non-descript with regards to the campaign setting. | | Official Delegate, Wizards of the Coast Against The Giants Called Shot: Huge Green Dragon Icons Called Shot: Gargantuan Prismatic Dragon

If you are interested in writing an adventure, albeit not paid, in a full setting check out the RPGA. It's a writing credit and is good experience. Since the adventures are relatively short, the time investment is not big and the editing process may shake out a few habits that could permeate your larger work. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow
