Having felled the door posing Mimic, the Kender and Warlock rush into the dicotomy of a room cleaned yet filled filled with webs. They quickly find themselves swarmed by spiders of various sizes.

They descend the stairs of the temple, continuing their investigation they are attacked by a malicious Ghost. The Cleric takes actions to protect the Kender despite his protest. The magic weilders blast it from afar.

A magic emanating door is the only of it's kind on this level, all having been long destroyed. Prudence wins out and they just have the Kender trip the trap, the little one is in agony for sometime after that. They find more clues to what transpired here 700 years ago.

Remants of a once large library are found in a large central room, a woman named Anasasa rumages through what remains. She says she searches for old stories and has been separated from her companion. Anasasa gives the mage what scrolls she's found but their greeting is disrupted when the others discover a small skeletal horde.

By now the Cleric has been drinking his homemade moonshine and is quite drunken, is a bit distressed he's disturbed to turn and destroy half the skeletons. Anasasa takes leave of the heroes and flees to safety. Threat ended the Cleric takes a nap.

Not ready to rest they continue to search and stumble upon a lurking Gelantious Cube, it marks the ranger as its' dinner and the warrior takes the opening to attack freely while being engulfed. The acids are too much and he is paralyzed, fortunately the others finish the ooze in due time. At this point confident nothing else hides on this level they gather the snoring Cleric and drag the limp Ranger, finding a room in which to sleep.

 | | 04/27/2008 6:27 AM | Alert | During the night Kiri-Jolith visits his cleric stressing the importance of having his wits with him, the only cleric having walked these halls since Ogres slayed all preists some 700 years ago. A web filled stairwell descends to the next level, filled with swarms and the body of a now dead half-elf. Anasasa has not shown her face again but they've found her friend.

Lighting the webs afire takes care of the swarms but frees the trapped Ogre Zombies and Skeletons. Our admonished cleric turns the Ogre Skeletons, leaving the party to finish two bloated beasts.

When the skeletons don't return they complete the descent and find them taking their time. Statues of both Mishakal and Paladine animate to head off the intruders, however after our Cleric presents himself as a follower of Kiri-Jolith they stand down. The skeletal ogres are little trouble and our Wizard commands one to follow him. They find temples to all the gods and learn many clues of past events through visions.

A hall of buried dead, leads to a hallowed crypt. They find the temple betrayers' dead body and an artifact of good binding him in death a near millenium. A trapped bearded devil trys to make his escape, hard fought the heroes prevail.
