Also, Neil Fallon, singer of the band Clutch, has talked about playing, even writing in the lyrics to their song 25 Earth Years "Way back in 1980 / We played the AD&D / My character was baffling / A druid wizard halfling".

Also, just because an article says celebrities "embrace" the RPG world doesn't mean they are or were gamers. We all know how the media tends to exaggerate things. Someone could have said, "D&D sounds interesting, I would probably try it out" and the media reports them as being a gamer.
Wil Wheaton plays though for sure. He occasionally posts on Enworld.
