| I dunno, I was thinking about just pikcing a creature type and going with it, perhaps a drow or unique band. I was thinking that it might be worth trying to choose a book and pick equivalent figs...halflings, ranger, wizard, sorta thing if you see what I mean.
That is, as long as you dothe goldilocks thing. A fairy tale theme must be present, so if you choose something else, I'll build the fairy tale band. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | I was actually thinking that I was going to bring my psychic friends network band. This is the one where we don't actually play the band that we bring, right? | | Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.--Dylan Thomas

| Yeah....
Well, I may have to do the fairy tale thing after all unless....
I just had a great thought.......but will it work?
Warforged (fighter or hero), wolf (timber or regular), any female mini, Dire Lion, I need some sort of construct or at least someone skinny from LG.
If we bring tiles to match the warband (I'll have to check) It would use the hall of Heroes for sure, after all it does look like a yellow brick road! | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | The corridor (I think it's called) is yellow-ish as well. I don't know what you would use for the scarecrow, but you could fill out the rest of the band with halfling "munchkins". | | Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.--Dylan Thomas

Perfect, i may not need any munchkins though at 200 points (and so the band has a commander I may have to use Alusair as Dorothy. All this time I had two Alusairs, and now that I just traded one away, I suddenly want to paint the one I have into a blue dress. Any thoughts on a better than Alusair Dorothy? | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | Got it sorted....except the scarecrow. So many CG figs that would work, I may have to try a CG build. I have 28 points remaining, I thought I might have to use the warforged wizard, at least he's partly a construct, and brightly colored. Anyway, let me know if you have any thoughts on it. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| Gadzooks!
I started to go through the H/W lists, and I think I have found what I need. It looks like a pretty good warband actually. Good number of activations, some good synergy among a few figs. Could do quite well. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| I too am excited about the 100-point format, although some fiddling I did earlier was a rude reminder of how I'd gotten used to 200-point design and forgot how much more demanding 100 is in terms of trade-offs. As far as the Drider goes, I never invested heavily in them so that sting isn't there for me and I can understand it's power. However, and Brian will probably shoot me for this, I am in the camp that believes that the LSD had a bigger meta-game effect - Drider may have been more aggressively costed, but I don't know that I ever built a band and then said, 'Oh I can't run that 'cause a Drider band would destroy it'. On the other hand, several (especially LE) builds have hit the trash for that exact reason. On the other hand, a save=10 errata for a number of creatures might have taken care of that too, but we digress to a topic that many other threads have covered.
Back to the band, I'm arguing between a CG animal and archers (ooh, alliterative) band and a 'thank god there are no LSD in 100' LE band. Thus far, my powers of persuasion have been unable to push me in either direction

| I'm feeling the same way, and strangely over similar concepts. I have been unable to shake the "animals and archers" thoughts from my own head and am remembering now how hard it is to shrink down to 100 points.
Oh well, another few days to think about it. I'll probably sit on this fence right up till about quarter to five on saturday. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

Anyone off the fence yet?
As always I seem to have a coupke of warbands to take up with me tomorrow, and although I have a pretty good idea which one I'll be using it may change yet. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | I am really having difficulty with this one...100 pt builds are really difficult for me. There's so much stuff I want to use. I am going tomorrow (as you know), but all i've been able to come up with are 200 pt builds. | | Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.--Dylan Thomas

| Well Sid (or would SoS be better?), I know you mentioned also having the animals and archers urge. If you're reluctant to use it because I might, go ahead - my babysitter is in florida and is reluctant to come back just to watch my kids so I won't make it this week.
Brian, you'll have an easier time making the 100 pt band once you start trying to figure out a way to fit an LSD in it (although, the 100 pt parallel might be CoY, MGD and 2 M@A)

That's too bad. Ungrateful babysitters....don't they know anything about responsibility? that being said can't you just put the kids in the basement or something? That's what I do with the dog and he's fine.
Seriously, too bad you can't make it, Hopefully we'll see you next week.
Maybe B could just cut off an LSD's wing, I'd knock a few points off the top for that. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | I know the tourney's over, but maybe for the next 100 pointer, I think I'd allow the whole 'LSD in 100-pt. if he lops off a wing' if I get to watch Brian cut the wing off one of HIS beloved LSD - Mwa ha ha. As far as the kids go, I had considered duct taping them to the ceiling (the thought of the fall to the floor tends to discourage them from trying to wriggle free), but my wife was coming home before I was. My in-laws are on the Island next week-end so I'll either definitely be there as Val gives me a reprieve, or definitely not be there as I play host. Too soon to tell. | | | |

| Even I, may not be able to go. The family is talking about going out to lunch on Saturday and then to a movie, rather than on Mother's Day.
I hope it'll be switched back to Sunday though, guess I'll have to wait and see. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| | Me and Kev went up on the 7th. I came in 2nd and I believe kev came in 3rd. Some interesting armies. Two Drizzt unique armies (which came in 1st and 2nd by the way) an CE beatstick of ravs and maws, a couple of undead armies, and a 2 beholder army. I can't really remember what else there was as I didn't face them. All in all I believe a fun tournament.....well at least I had fun. | | | |

| I'm planning on making it this weekend. Unless the family plans some activity as I have relatives visting from across.
I took my car in for repairs so naturally it's worse than ever, so if others are heading up I may need to ask for a ride again, unless they really do get it fixed on Friday (which is the plan). | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"
