There were some prereleaes events held in the past at teh store over in Somerville. Not sure how well attended they were, but you might try going over there to see if they have anything regularly scheduled.
More events are popping up, though no right IN boston... Myriad Games in Salem runs games every Sunday, Battleground in Weymouth every Wednesday night....
