| To the regular Oakland crew:
So for the November league, here are the options I was considering for the month.
-300 pts
-themed bands (Krush brought this up, and it could be fun. It let's us get away from the Tier 1 uber stuff. I figure as long as you got a certain theme going, you'll be fine)
-200 pt, triad format, roll randomly for the format (assault, plunder, cave of pain)
-200 pt, assault or bounty (roll randomly to determine)
Common rules
-Let's keep the tiles as an option (dice off as with maps normally, but winner can choose tiles in lieu of a normal map)
-Let's do 8 figures for the month. Cool?
Chime in with what you'd like, and we can just go with the consensus opinion.

How about Quad instead of Triad?
Roll a d20: 1-5 is Assault, 6-10 is Plunder, 11-15 is Cave of Pain, and 16-20 Bounty.
By the way, for anyone who isn't familiar with the scenarios:
Assault: standard format with points for occupying a victory area.
Plunder: like Assault, except you can get tile points for occupying multiple victory areas.
Cave of Pain: no tile points, all melee and ranged attacks deal damage +5 (stacks with other effects, but is not doubled on a crit).
Bounty: each creature you eliminate is worth 10 extra victory points (we'll need to decide if the Kobold Miner is worth 10 or 0 in this format).

| Those all sound good - I like Quad as long as we decide on bands before we roll for the type ...
I suggest we each bring 'fun' (suboptimal - not using more than 1 tier 1 piece) warbands as well as competitive warbands. It's be fun to see some themed warbands, or some odd pieces make a visit to the gameboard ... | |

| So here is the format for the month of November:
-200 pts, 8-figure limit
-Quad format (roll randomly to determine one of four formats: Assault (1-5), Plunder (6-10), Cave of Pain (11-15), or Bounty(16-20))
-Show your warband before you roll for format
-Bring themed and creative warbands
-At the end of every session, we'll vote on the most creative warband of that night. You can't vote for your own warband of course. Winner gets 5 bonus points for the week. That counts as nearly 2 wins right there.
Here are the formats:
-Assault as normal
-Plunder: As Assault, but you can gain up to 30 tile points per round if you have figures on multiple tiles
-Cave of Pain: No assault points. All melee and ranged attacks deal +5 dmg
-Bounty: As Assault, but you earn +10 points every time you eliminate an enemy figure
There you go.
Note though: On Monday the 14th, we are running a non-sanctioned 300 pt tournament.
-Buy-in is $5 and prizes are 1 booster per 2 players. We'll be doing a prize draft so everyone wins something.
-Swiss format and normal DCI floor rules, but with the max point limit now 210 thanks to the bump to 300 pts.
-8 figure limit, Huges allowed, and play on either Tomb of Queen Peregrine or Hellspike (dice off to choose).
-This tournament will replace the normal League night on the 14th. Should be lots of fun so come on by. | |

| Hey Endgame crew,
I have bad news. Apparently, WotC oversold their November kits and we won't get em in the store. We'll get December though. In light of that and the shortened season because of Thanksgiving and the December holidays, I was thinking of just combining the two months (Nov+Dec) and ending league on Dec 19th. Makes more sense anyway since Monday the 14th is our 300 pt tournament so league play won't really start until the 21st. With 11/28, 12/5, 12/12, and 12/19, that gives us 5 weeks, which sounds just about right.
Sorry for that. I can't tell you to go other locations to get your Dwarf Wizard and Hall of Heroes tile when we are in the store, but I can tell you that here on Maxminis.
Games of Berkeley on the 22nd will be holding its casual play and you guys can grab your promos from there. Ben got like 3 kits. I think he hogged em all. [)]

| Last night's 300 point tourney was a lot of fun. Thanks to all involved.
Next week we're beginning our 200 point, 8 figure constructed league sessions (using standard floor rules, with the exception that maps may be used instead of tiles if you win terrain initiative).
An effort should be given to providing a theme to your warband. Each week, 5 bonus points will be given to the warband(s) that get the most votes for the warband theme ... that is almost like 2 free victories - meaning that you could lose every match, every week - but still have a good chance of winning the league if you manage to sweep the best warband bonus points each week ...
