| I'm confused. Are we participating in the Worldwide D&D Game Day or are we playing DDM or both?

well, D&D miniatures are a rpga event. DCI handles the recording of all sactioned event. The rpga did not have any means to track and record any such games, so they got the DCI group to handle it. This is our normal DDM day anyway. I am not planning on making any changes to our schedule just because of WWD&DGD. Last year our stock on repainted minis (retail kits) was looted by the rpg players. Many extra cards remained and no minis to show for.
As a rollplayer I have no problem if you find a rpg event to play in and not DDM that day. Just a note though, the rpga events are to be only 4 hr long so your could still get DDM in if we start a little later. | |

I'm with you on all counts, pilias, except Assault. I enjoy that format. I hate Cave of Pain and Plunder...especially when I'm trying to play with an 8 fig band against non-8 fig bands.
I've always been anti-Extreme format, but that was because I hated the huge figs. However, I'm VERY keen on Epic and look forward to playing some 500 pt games.

| I should also add that I hate the 12 fig limit MUCH more than I hate playing with tiles. I can understand that not everyone that will be playing will have the new maps and so we need to play with tiles for awhile longer to allow the maps to get disseminated. However, EVERYONE can build 8 fig bands instead of 12 fig bands.
I think that we should adopt a friendly 8 fig limit rule for our constructed events. I'd hate to see the community lose peoples' interest because we are slow to adopt the new rules. Of course, this is only a friendly rule and wouldn't be a requirement for anyone who didn't know about it or didn't want to be friendly. That way we'd still comply with the DCI rules.
I guess my point is that we need to listen to the community and adapt or we're going to lose people.
You guys have my commitment to continue to play by the 8 fig limit rule even if it continues to contribute to me getting thrashed like last week. [:P]

| I will gladly conform to the 8 fig limit.
My current, favorite warband actually has only 4, which in the 8 fig environment is much more playable.

| | I have no problem with people wanting to play the 8 fig rule. We can not however use maps. If we are to use maps, that same map must be supplied to all players. (This is in the DCI rules) We do not have enough maps for every one to play on except for the lost temple. | |

| | Just stopped in at the game den in the valley fair mall. not much in known about what they are doing for game dan. 2 DMs may be running events, but what they are doing I do not know. If you know of other locations that have plans you may want to look into them. Hausters Hobbies or Black Rose are 2 good places to check out. | |

| I'm not a big fan of Plunder either, but I did like Cave of Pain.
I also like that other format that WoTC has mentioned though I can't remember the name of it, the one that will be in the new triad.
I would also support a move to 8 fig limits, and I understand about the maps, though I really do prefer the maps. | |
