Over on Enworld I had originally suggested running a Burning Empires demo. Assuming there is still an available table during Block 2, is anyone interested? (Devilbat was the only one who previously mentioned wanting to play this, and he can't make it anymore.)
The demo scenario is called "Fires Over Omac". Please heed the following: - if it happens it'll be during Block 2, 2-5pm - it's meant for 2-4 players plus GM - it's designed for 4 hours so we might not get through it all - Burning Empires is a pretty new game and I've only played 2 real sessions of it so far, so I'm not the most experienced GM. But it is an awesome game! - there's a lot of stuff about Burning Empires that you won't see in a demo - it has a lot of campaign-level mechanics, collaborative world creation, etc. that there just isn't time for. However, I will be able to give an overview of this stuff and answer questions.

| Artellan - welcome to the boards. In regards to your 1st question about reduced non dinner pricing, I'd rather avoid having to come up with 18 different prices for 18 different people. Come discuss it with me.
As to the demo of "Fires over Omac", I think we can get a table to run it on. There may however be too many games to choose from, so I don't know how many players there will be. I appreciate the interest, so don't take this as being negative. I don't know for sure how many people will be in attendance, or what their gaming preferences will be. It looks like we may have 5 games/demos going on, and say we have 20 people, less the 5 who are running the games, that leaves 15 people to play 5 games, or 3 per table. They may all want to play at 1 table though, and that may be a problem.
So to all who are interested, sound off which games you want to be in. This doesn't have to be a firm commitment, but it will help me decide which game is at which table, etc... You can certainly change your mind. Some of these will only be a "go" if there is sufficient players interested.
Oh, and shadowbear, you can play D&D. If you sign up and pay today it will only be $8, and you can let me know which games you want to be registered for. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| I'm pretty much set to run D&D in the first slot for up to the first 8 people wanting to play. Minis and characters will be provided, all you need is dice and a pencil.
I'll be playing Dreamblade in the second slot assuming there is enough for a tournament. I'll bring along a couple extra warbands for people to borrow.
And I'll be running the D&D minis tournament in the evening slot open to all those who can afford the cost of two boosters. Perhaps Scott will even offer up a special gameday discount, then again maybe not since he's a greedy capitolist pig.

Not for the session I'm running. It'll be designed for the characters I'm providing. Feel free to bring your own characters though, perhaps one of the other DM's will allow them.

| Hi All,
I've updated the schedule over on Maxminis, and it looks like this is all coming together nicely. A couple of things, if you will:
1) 4-5 tables? Originally I was wanting to space things out throughout the room and wanted a top amount of tables at 4. I've bumped this to five for block 2, and we will see what is needed. As the room sits now, I have 1 huge 4x8 table (#1 for D&D), 6 6x2.5 tables (usually for minis, but will be allocated as needed), and 1 square 4x4 table. I also have 4 unfinished 4ft octogonal poker tables which I may set up for 3 dragon ante. So as things progress we wll move things around as needed. If you are doing a demo and need specific requirements, let me know.
2) Dreamblade demo in 1st block, I need a volunteer to run it or it may be cancelled. I could try to do it myself, but I'm tied up being coordinator/cashier. That would make it difficult for me and choppy for everyone else. Anybody on these forums play Dreamblade?
3) Heavy Gear? Is this going to happen? I haven't heard from the person who wanted to do this. As of now it is on the schedule as to be confirmed.
4) Burning Empires, has been added for block 2. Artellan will have pre-gens ready. Thanx Arty!
5) Ryan's D&D in Block 2. Do you have a character/player limit? Are you using pregens? Let me know some details when you have a moment.
6) Block 3 D&D DM needed. Volunteers?
I think that has us covered. The only other thing is sign up and registration. I will look over this thread and see what I can glean about who is playing/demoing what. I am starting a spreadsheet at the store to keep track of who is seated where. If you are coming, please sound off as to what you are doing in each block. I'll put that in the spreadsheet. And don't worry about changing your mind, this just helps establish which games need which tables for seating.
Cheers,
The Beer Baron (aka Scott)

If there aren't enough people interested in playing my D&D in the first slot I could do the Dreamblade demo.
As for the minis event it could be either Sealed or Draft, sound off if you have a preference here. Majority rules there. If it is draft I'll start the draft process during dinner to speed things along, you can draft as you eat. For that matter warbands could be built in a sealed event while we eat as well.

| Thanks very much to the Beer Baron and everyone else involved in setting this up. I had an absolute blast running my Burning Empires game. Kudos to the other four players for their inspired play - even as GM I felt like I was just along for the ride. Probably one of the most enjoyable (and intense) sessions of RPGing I've played in, pretty cool considering I'd never met any of them before. (Jon, one of the players, wrote up an actual play post here if anyone's interested in what the hell we were doing.)
In short, an awesome time and I only wish I could've stayed longer to play in some of the other games and meet more people.
Cheers and thanks again to all involved. Mike
