Pre-Registration for GASPcon 8 is now open.

GASPcon is entering its eighth year, and this one promises to be the largest convention yet. GASPcon 8 will once again be located at the Best Western Inn at the Parkway Center Mall in Pittsburgh, PA. Dates are Saturday and Sunday, November 3rd and 4th. Doors will open at 7AM Saturday morning, and the gaming will continue nonstop until we close Sunday night at 10PM.

GASPcon has something for everyone: MANY RPGA events, boardgames, Independent Role Playing, Magic the Gathering, and plenty of miniature events. On the schedule are 3 separate Warmachine tournaments, as well as Classic BattleTech, D&D and Star Wars minis, and Frag-O-Rama.

Special Guest
The Anticole brothers, creators of the non-collectable card game "Nature of the Beast", will be at the show to sign autographs, do demos, and run the annual NOB World Championship Tournament.

GASPcon Super Spectacular Prize Give Away
Just like last year, we will have a whole pile of donated gaming goodies to give away. The prizes will be handed out on Sunday at 1:00 PM, and you must be present to win. This year we will hold 2 separate raffles, Gold and Silver. When you arrive at the convention, your badge will be marked with either a Gold or Silver sticker based on the following: Pre-Registration – Gold; On Site Registration – Silver. So be sure to pre-register to ensure your place in the Gold raffle.

On the table this year (among many other games) are 2 copies of "The War Game: World War II". This monster wargame retails for $125 USD, and we're giving both copies away in the raffle. Last year, every attendee left with a raffle prize, and we're hoping to keep that trend alive this year as well.

GASPcon Bazaar
This year we are replacing the Flea Market with an Open Bazaar. At 1:00 PM on Saturday, you will have 1 hour to set up your items and sell your goods. Some general rules apply to the Bazaar, so be sure to check out the website for full details.

D&D Minis and Star Wars Drafts
We will be holding 2 booster draft events at GASPcon 8, 1 for D&D minis, and 1 for Star Wars minis.  The cost for these events are $25 each, which gets you 2 booster packs and a chance at the grand prizes - the Drizzt Scenario pack for D&D minis (contains Drizzt, Wulfgar, and Icingdeath), and an AT-AT for Star Wars minis.  There will be a minimum participation level for these prizes, so be sure to check the website for full details.

There is an update for the DDM booster draft tournament.  Here's the latest event listing.


D&D Minis Sealed Booster Draft Tournament
Compete in a DCI sanctioned D&D miniatures sealed booster tournament.  Each player will be provided 2 DDM booster packs from which to build a 200 point warband.  Each round of this Swiss-style tournament will be 1 hour long and prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place.

The Grand Prize will be the D&D Icons: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack.  2nd place will receive the D&D Icons: Gargantuan Black Dragon, and 3rd place will receive 1 booster pack.

This tournament will carry an additional $25 fee to cover the cost of the boosters and prizes.

Please note there will be a minimum participation level for the prizes, set at 6 players.  If less than 6 players participate, the prizes will differ.
