| | Is our local shop bothered by the DDM situation? Are they backing out support or something? They had so many at the last prerelease that they had to turn people away. I am baffled. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse | |

I do not know, I will be checking with the owner later today, if he will be in. As for why, I do not know. I will post any news I can. I will also try to get our local PTO to see if he can get something for us. That would mean that we would play somewhere else. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| I have not been able to get any answers today. The TO of the release events has not returned any of my phone calls. He showed up between my 11 and 12 calls.
I have contacted Steve at the West Valley store and he was going to try and find out what the deal is. I also have a call into the PTO and hope something will happen. I also have emails to key WotC event personal hopping that we can still get an event in.
I will post any new info that I can here. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| Thanks for your efforts spikegif. The P-R's are about the only ones I can make it out to attend. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
If it's location, I'm sure we can work it out.

| I haven't been able to get ahold of Rob as of yet either. But I expect that we can get things going still. There may be issues with some FNM events at the Provo store, that had to be cancelled, and the cards have not been returned or some other problem.
This isn't an issue with pulling out support from Game Den. From what I understand Rob still is Utah's PTO for the miniatures games, and will continue to do so. If they gave the position to someone else like the MTG PTO, the game would suffer, and I for one would not be able to play in any events for safety reasons. The PTO for MTG has threatened my physical well-being on more than one occasion, and has slandered my reputation to many people because I upset him. It would be much better contacting Hastur's Hobbies, but I do believe the issue can be resolved early next week.

| finially got to talk to Rob, the TO for almost all DDM and SWM events held in UT. He informed me that in the past for release and prerelease event WotC has contacted him about running an event. He would them respond by email with them informing them if he wanted one or not. He has not been contacted and was not awair that the prereleases have been anounced. He still thinks that he will be contacted for an event.
Any updates I will post. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

I do not have any contact info with Hastur's Hobbies. I have tied to talk to people there about getting events their and they never showed any interest. I do not even know who to talk to. They do not have the space to run an event either, too many computers and painting going on. I would like that things were kept at the game den, but past major events have had a few problems, info not being sent by WotC, no prize support being sent, and missing paper work. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

Yes, it seems that every major event I have been to at Game Den has had some problems. There is too much haphazard disorganization and procrastination involved in connection with the owner.
From what I can tell, Jarvissteven does pretty well in his sphere as an employee.
The frustration is starting to outweigh the fun of the event, though. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

Our TO did not know anthing about a prerelease until I contacted him by phone (tired by email). I received a email responce from him 3 days later letting me know that he had no info on it. As you can see, he finialy contacted WotC. [:)]

| Will we have pre-event sign ups this time? That way we can avoid problems like the last event where a valued member of the community (Toxic_Rat) was unable to participate because he was running a little late.
If so, please put my son, Greyson, and me down for the event.

Other problems about pre-registreation is that our last event we had several people pre-register and when they showed up, their spots had been sold to some other players. Not very good comunication with the workers.
I am not sure on how the product is sent to the store. WotC posts that the limit is 40 players. That would be 8 cases (prize support also) of product that would need to be send. Does WotC send all 8 cases or does the TO order the cases he wants? Knowing that answer we can figure out where the blame is. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| The Issue had to do with a e-mail filter, and a new person at WOTC sending info to the TO's. This resulted in Rob not getting the info. to request the event. Things were fixed Tuesday morning but I hadn't talked to Rob till tonight to confirm.
As far as the last event went, we had a stellar turn out and didn't have the right product order made out for the event. Could be worse. The MTG pre-release in Utah turned away around 100 players because they ran the event in a small place. We hope this won't ever happen again.

| Request...
Since this event will be held on Halloween weekend and many of us gamer geeks like to dress up (or are married to people who like their costumes), can we make it happen in a timely fashion so that we can enjoy the festivities later on that evening?
One thing we can do is eliminate the 4 player playoff after the swiss rounds. 5-6 rounds of swiss seem perfectly adequate to determine the winners of the prize support for an event of this level.

This info has not been posted by wizards. With the supplies that WotC sends to the TO an event FAQ sheet is sent. This sheet has the ruls like that listed in them. With it not being posted on the WotC web site stating that is how it is to be played, I do not think it will be required for the Prerelease. Events that I have seen that have required that have been posted as such. I do not think we will know for sure until then. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-
