| Hello all,
Everyone have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN. Lots of candy to give out to Boils and Ghouls.
I will see all of your out at Game Day I hope.
And then, of course, the week after for gaming.
Cheers

| Hello,
I am OK with pizza, Chinese or George's for the coming week. Pizza is probably easiest considering everything that is happening. We can do Chinese the week after, and then George's at mid-month?
As to Halloween, only about 25-30 kids around my place. Slow night.

| I'll consider that no objections, Whoppers it is this week.
And to celebrate I'm issuing a Whopper Chalenge!
To the player who eats the most Whoppers I'll award 100 XP times the number of Whoppers they eat. The DM is having 2 Whoppers so the minimum to win is eating 3.
Good luck everyone. | | | |

| Posted By dorge on 10/29/2007 8:37 AM My plan for getting the Ale back to the city would be this: Half of the group goes back to town with the cash and half of the potions we have just incase of an ambush. I would think one fighter goes with the group and the other fighter stays with the Ale. The group that goes would get a couple of donkeys and a half a dozen people to help out with getting the Ale back. My character has 5 trail rations left so I could stay and gaurd the barrels of ale. He also has 3 potions of Cure Light Wounds, and I think Grath has two. Mabye Big Mig and Beregon could go to town. When you got there you could pick up the Cleric after he's done his God worshipping stuff get the people and donkeys and come get the Ale. Hopefully there will be no ambushes and hopefully no one will try and steal the ale. Here is the plan that I was thinking of again, I was just thinking... is there any others?

| Scott had a plan all worked out - but - he has probably been a little too busy with everything lately to have time to sit down and type it out (ie comic con, beer club, trick or treatin, being a Dad) On top of that and running the store he won't be there to see his plan come to fruitation (spelling?). So I think it is up to us isn't it? I'll try to post the chronicles to get people going on this too. | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!! | |

| Tales from the Chronicler Oct.24 Night 6
Ales Well that Ends Well Part 1
Apparently Tharnog and Migwin did not spend the night in the gutter or in the Stockade; but, apparently they did nearly drink the Blind Seagull dry. Havind depleted the barkeep and owner out of nearly 1/4 of its nightly stock of fine Ale he felt obligated to let them stay over. They even got Steak, Eggs and Ale for breakfast! I guess the hair of the dog needed a remedy cause they must have been a bit to hung over!!!!
Our intrepid heroes meet at the Wizard's Tower for Beregon's appointment with the Wizard - minus one cleric - Cedrith Elariani is occupied at the temple trying to gather insight into his visions. The party is served Mead downstairs until their audience as the Wizard cannot be disturbed upstairs in his lab at this time. A brief time goes by (not quick enough for Migwin) and they are shown into the upstairs labratory with various old scrolls and antique books and bubbling chemicals in goofy looking flasks. An elderly wizard (maybe 50's) balding and wearing a stained robe eye's the group from across the room. He seems to especially eye the monkey Hadozee who eye's him back to show him his rudish behaviour. Beregon Tal interrupts this stare fest after stopping Migwin from mixing chemicals in the hidden corner - a wizards work is never done. Beregon introduces his companions with much politeness - to make a good impression and the Wizard reluctantly intoduces himself as Eldar.
Beregon requests that his son Percy be granted leave for a sea voyage that Salty Pete is planning - the best QuarterMaster of all is needed!!! Eldar says that this might be true - but his son will go nowhere even if Salty Pete has returned him safe and sound as before. Percy is unlucky and naive when traveling and is generally taken advantage of by shady people! Migwin the Barbarian is insulted and angrily raises his voice to the Wizard, "SHADY!". "Were not shady people - your're not going to take us for a bunch of ... Monkey's!!! No Offense Grath. The Hadozee Rogue simply glares and huddles in the corner picking ticks from his fur. Migwin continues, " We know how to read and ... we know how to read!" Eldar contemplates them as Beregon Tal assures him that they are trustworthy folk.
Very well says Eldar, obtain 1 pound of Elm Fire Moss from the spot marked on the map which is 1 and 1/2 days travel to a wooded glade where it grows. The Party is curious how they will know of it and he explains in detail how they will find it growing on the tree bark and its' appearance. It also glows with a silvery light in the presence of Elven magic. Migwin is wary and tries to sense any deception on the part of this elderly wizard. He also questions him continuously - for which Beregon tries to assure the wizard no insult is intended. Migwin inquires of the nature of the Moss - where does it grow - is it hazardous - care is needed to handle and pick it. What foes will they face on the map - undead, zombie's or dragons??? No deception is sensed and none of these foes should be present so the party agrees to the task to secure Percy for Salty Pete's Sea Voyage. Before the Party can take their leave the Wizard promises that should they acuire extra magical moss that he could get them elemental resistance to cold from the extra moss. He might even be able to help them trade the wand of darkness for something else.
The morning has gone and it is lunch time at which time the Party's different tastes for nourshment sends them to opposite sides of the Lunch Market. After what some consider a satisfying lunch the party equips itself and heads out into farmland and follows the map NE. They make it to the edge of the woods and find an old campsite including firepit. The settle down for the night as the Barbarian / Sorcerer uses Burning Hands to ignite the pit and throw on a log. The Party eats, trades stories and jests till time to turn down for night - yet the Hadozee and Beregon has some sort of arguement! "Why dost thou call me by my last name Tal so often?" Grath - It is your name isn't it? Beregon - my last name it is - are we not friends? Dost thou have contempt for me - using my last name in disrespect? Grath - It is no disrepect - should I have such a fine last name I would use it and be proud of its usage - you know not what you have taken for granted!!! They turn in for the night a little miffed. Migwin takes 1st watch, Grath takes 2nd watch and Tharnog last. Other than the cry of wolves the night passes uneventfull.
Migwin snares rabbits for breakfast and finds berries to boot. Beregon and Migwin converse over Tweeter - Migwin's eagle familar. They have a good hearty discussion before the Party breaks camp and continues North East to the spot on the Map. The Party makes good time as not more than 1/2 day travel they arrive at the magical mosses glade. The Elm trees ... have no Moss??? The Hadozee says search the other side of the trees!!! The party searches and searches ... and searches the adjacent glades as well ... the Elm Fire Moss has been scraped from the tree ... fairly recently and also over the past few months! Someone has collected it with a blade to the trunk ... and there are tracks Migwin discovers! Tharnog the Dwarf says the Moss could have been missing for weeks.
After 3-4 hours of searching the glade and searching for tracks the party is a little disheartened to find they can collect no Elm Fire Moss for their task. Grath suggests they find a moss substitue or grow their own .... he gets many stare and grumble on that plan. If someone has gathered all the moss then what is to be done??? Certainly they cannot force it from them - perhaps they would have extra to share??? Migwin finds that there are many a booted track around the glade in scavenging for the moss. The footfalls seem both large and small??? Grath finds a trail leading north from the glade and shows this to Migwin. In hopes that more moss can be found or that the others might share the party begins to track the trail heading North.
As dusk approaches ... on the horizon's twilight is ... Greyish Smoke rising... not more than an hours travel. A quick debate ... and off they head in search of extra Elm Fire Moss. The sun sets as they trod on ...
Tune in ... later as we continue the tales from the Chronicler!!! | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

| Tales from the Chronicler Oct. 24 Night 6
Ales well that Ends Well Part 2
When last we left off our intrepid heroes saw rising greyish smoke on the distant horizon around dusk - about an hour away. The general direction was that of the tracks for which the small and large footprint tracks headed to the North out of the glade where the Fire Elm Moss was supposed to be found (2 miles away). The Party decides to proceed at night at quietly or stealthly at half movement - taking our time. After 2/3 of an hour (40 min) an open clearing with a makeshift cottage or shack is about dead centre more or less. The sun has long since set and Tharnog with his dark vision and Beregon can make out figures in front of the shack.4 goblins around a Copper Still. The Party originally thought the shack to be desserted but the goblins were spotted - and later 2 others would exit the shack ... how many more??? A lone human carrying a bussel with some sort of ... fine material (Oh no the Moss???) is carrying the material to the top of the Still for decanting. The debate with what to do in the Party is cut short and action is needed. The 20 min or so needed to traverse the clearing to scout is not an option even if the Hadozee is made invisible using Beregon's spells - not enough time to get there - scout - get back. And sending the Hadozee alone is not a great option either! ACTION! ACTION?????
A Plan is swiftly arrived at and followed - Beregon suggests that he leads the Party in an Orb of Darkness while the Hadozee has invisibility ahead for surprise. Beregon Tal casts invisibility on Grath who scouts ahead after Tal casts Orb of Darkness around the himself/Party. The Party members hold on to Beregon's Staff which he signals the Party members to move, stop and change direction by moving the Staff as he thought needed. The time to attack would be based on the Rogue or other circumstance and Beregon would raise the Staff above his head to disperse the Party and start the attack. The Plan works beautifully - noone notices the orb of darkness advancing on the Copper Still - all beit very slowly as the terrain (plain) is not perfect going. The Human with the Bussel of fine ... Moss??? is busy decanting ... whatever.
The Attack! ... The Hadozee is invisible behind the human with the bussel. Grath gets the surprise attack on the Human ... interrupts the decanting! Migwin kills the front goblin, Tharnog advances up for a better position next round of combat. Beregon casts Orb of electricity to one of the humans {that exited the shack just before combat (2 earlier)}. The Hadozee does more sneak attack damage but misses the next couple of attacks. Tharnog and Migwin start killing off more goblins as Tal ... Sorry Beregon casts Snow Ball Swarm on a group of foes! Migwin has advanced and killed the human who had the bussel of Moss while Tharnog kills another human and then cleaves into the Human Executioner! Beregon has since cast Mage Armor on himself as...... reinforcements exit from the shack (this shack is kinda tiny for all these dudes ... Dr. Who's Tardis or what? )
Our Wizard Leader casts Alchemists Fire onto the Reinforcements: 3 humans and a Bug Bear. Migwin takes on the Bug Bear and tries to intimidate him. Tharnog goes after more humans and the Hadozee tries to assist. Beregon does a couple of magic missles to the Bug Bear and a Wand of Shocking Grasp as Migwin finishes of the Bug Bear. Tharnog dispatches the rest of the humans with at last a one fianl successfull attack from the Hadozee!!!
Beregon determines that 1 1/2 lbs of Fire Elm Moss (among other Moss) is in the Bussel. The copper still is well crafted/good quality ... and Beregon detects that the Copper Still is magical. Various treasure is found on the dispatched foes. Grath finds some sleeping furs outside around the Shack with nothing of real interest in them. Inside, a table with 3 Dragon Ante game has the high stakes of 152 Gold Pieces with various gemstones. Some cots are in corner and ... a ramp leads down into a root cellar, a bit larger (20 foot radius) is discovered by Migwin and Tharnog charging in from the shack above. A torch is struck and 50 Barrels (20 Gallons) are present.12 Barrels are filled with Moss Ale with aberration??? magic which a note above indicates someone will be by for the Ale in a couple of weeks. The ale is apparently to be used against ??????. What do we do now???? Destroy the Ale, Drink the Ale, Use the Ale, Forget the Ale and complete our Task, sell the ale OR wait for the person waiting to buy the ale???
Beregon Tal our esteem Wizard is contemplative. Migwin and Tharnog think the Ale should be taken to town (2 days)- and sold. Grath is not sure what to do - but is interested in who is collecting the ale in 2 weeks. The Party will sleep on it as such and ultimately sleep on it in the morning. Beregon Tal and Migwin take 1st watch. Grath takes the 2nd watch and Tharnog takes his usual 3rd shift.
What will the Party decide to do in the morning??? | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!
