| | 03/31/2008 12:45 PM | Alert | Prot's all well and good, it's what my paladin is gonna be after all, but more survivalbility isn't necessarily the easiest. I know my warrior was a pain in the ass to play until I started dual wielding. Especially for clases that can't heal themselves, killing things faster is generally superiror to outlasting them. That said, paladins can heal themselves, so it's sorta moot. But if he's got points in talents that require shields, we do need to get him a shield.
We should be able to find you something better than a shield with 371 armor for your level. I think my paladin (whos just started using a shield himself) has one that has 361 armor, assuming I won it on the auction house last night. If you're twice my level we can get you a shiny shield from somewhere. maybe SFK, I think that's where rob's paladin got a pretty nice shield one time. Commander's Crest I think it was called.

Mike's wise commentary... I'd probably do this instead.
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?0000000000000000000005304133000000000000000000000000000000000000
I took the five points from improved devotion aura (it really doesn't add that much, and it adds nothing if you use another aura (when do we get the other auras? is there a website that shows spells and what level they're gained?)) and put them into Shield spec and toughness. Course, if we're gonna go all shieldy, he needs a shield.

| | 03/31/2008 1:12 PM | Alert | An additional 40% on the devotion aura is nothing to sneaze at. I think on my holy Paladin at 66 her's it normaly at 820 armor boost, for Nico it would be 1148.
If that's the aura he's specialized in other pallies can switch to their concentration or ret auras.
Your build would be a good way to go though.

I'm not sure I quite understand what you said. 820? 1148?
Nevermind, figured out what you were saying. your devotion aura gives 820, with the talent it would add 1148. but that's only 328 extra armor, and I gotta believe you have more than 3280 armor, in which case you, well nico actually, would benefit more from the toughness ability.
I know right now for my paladin his Devotion Aura grants 160 armor (I think). An increase in 40% would push that to 224, or an increase of 64 pts. If I instead put that into toughness (grants 10% more armor from items) as long as my armor is currently 640 or higher I get more from the toughness boost.

Plus I knew Nico already had it chosen.
This one might work actually...

True, didn't think about that. But then, if the tank is doing good, no one but the tank should be taking damage, so the armor rating of party members would be irrelevent. In a perfect situation of course.

Both Garret and Richard were saying there is a quest in Elwyn forrest or something to start me off on rez. Otherwise I think i should just have the thing already naturally - unless I have missed something as usual
