| Hello,
Yes, it was a great night out. I may have gone 0-2, with one bye at the end, but the games were competitive. Things came down to the final round in each case, so I am not too upset.
I am looking forward to 500 pts next week.

Yeah it makes sense now I looked in the book and it doesn't say that an AoO is a melee attack so that would explain it.

| Hey guys, I just wanted to be the one to tell you that as of this saturday I will no longer be a part of GameKnight. Scott will be the sole proprieter of the shop. I want to thank you guys for all you did to help GameKnight be what it is. I may be there from time to time playing in the tourneys or even helping out. I don't know yet.
But thanks all the same.

| Hello,
So, what was the final decision of things over at Galaxy? Are they going to run any more tournaments now? Was a turnout of 6 enough?
Would love to help out, but most Sundays are work days.

I imagine there'll at least be one in October. I'll be talking to Justin on Sunday most likely.

| Hello,
So, is everybody ready for the 500 pt Extreme Skirmish?
Any chance we can have it sanctioned? I want to increase my DCI rating and try to topple Richard form the standings. [:D]
OK, not likely to happen.

I'll be there. It won't be sanctioned. In order to get it sanctioned you have to submit it to DCI a week or so in advance to get the sanctioning number, or whatever it's called.

| I wonder if we could just get Scott to keep track of the games and then report it once he gets the number, sure its not strictly by the book but whats the difference?
Really we could probably do that every week as long as we had enough people participating to sanction | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| I talked to Scott tonight and he wants to do sanctioned tourneys so I've been looking up some info for him.
He was also wondering about sanctioning the themed games. Probably not the extreme ones like Jack in the box, but stuff like no rares or all small.
I couldn't find anything in the floor rules that says you can't.
I posted this over in the skirmish forum to see what others think of it too. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| | I think the only things you can get DCI sanctioned are things that use the DCI rules, which would mean assault and triad. | |

| Hello,
I think I have to go with Richard here. I doubt anything but official formats are accepted for sanctioning. I would personally only feel comfortable with the official formats in sanctioned games. In many of the scenarios outside of Assault and Triad the format can really affect the outcome.

| you could still play assault or triad with no rares or other theme bands.
I didn't mean changing that. It really bothers me that you can't sanction a straight kill em all game though. And the sanctioning form doesn't even have an spot for assault it still has quickstrike on it. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| Rob,
Well, the paperwork angle sounds interesting. The RPGA/DCI is not the most organized group is it if it still has not updated its forms in over a year. I suppose they will wait now until January or March and update everything with the change to maps (and likely change of format as well).
I have to say sanctioning would be a great thing, although I do not put much stock in my DCI ranking. It will interest some other people incoming out, however, which can only be to the good for the local scene.
Cheers [:)]

The 500 point game was brutal, Richard was playing a storm giant with 4 crow shamans and a Moon elf fighter for tactics which gave him the ability to take 6 attacks a round with the Stormy.
Dan was playing 7 Bulettes with a green fang druid and some support.
Scott played a Huge red and 3 large reds
Omand played a Huge Gold
Paula played a Huge red, Zombie white and some fodder.
Basically my poor King Snure, Beholder and 2 Fomorian band had no chance since I kept rolling 4 or less (9 out of 12 times) on the Beholder rolls.

No, I did. But the 7 bulettes were a cooler warband then the Storm Giant and her flock of ravens.

| Hello,
I had a great time for my first 500 pt skirmish. I ended up 1-1 at the end of the night. Paula just had no luck against me with her band. had we gone to the end rather than to time (and then some for poor Scott) I would likely have finished her Huge Red with my Huge Gold. I was ahead in terms of beating down the dragons in both cases with her.
I was the first to face off against Dan, the 7 Bulettes was a monster band to finght (no pun intended). I just did not have enough damage output to do anything against that many creatures.
If anyone was curious, my complete band was:
Huge Gold Dragon Couatl Cleric of Dol Arrah Warforged Hero Dwarf Wizard Justice Archon x2

| I got them laminated a Staples Depot on Pembina highway.
Storm Giant is the best huge figure out there. I can't believe only one of her was used.

I have to admit, I considered running one. In retrospect, it might have been a smarter choice.

| | The Storm Giant might not be the best one on one, but I think it has the best support pieces which makes her almost unstoppable. She never misses and 40 dmg. She rocks. | | | |

Hiya.
I don't know that I'll get into A&A. I don't know that I could afford both A&A and DDM and I prefer fantasy anyway.

| No richard you aren't wrong.....sigh......Maybe I should have made it harder just for fun.
Anyway, I just wanted to get onto these boards so I could check in and post messages to the gang when needed. Next months minis schedule is going to be worked on really soon (maybe today). I am going to attempt to sanction a couple of them a month for starters to see how that is received. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| | Hmmm.. no A&A lovers yet, pah. Oh well, anyways, are any of you terrain builders? I am looking to get started building some terrain for A&A minis, and I know the jist of the materials that I need to buy (styrofoam, mdf style hardboard, pva glue, paints, powdered wood putty or whatnot, etc). But where's a good place to get stuff like that? There's a Michael's and Home Depot right next to eachother by the Boston Pizza on St. Anne's, would those be two good places to check out first? Are there better places with better prices? | | | |
