Glad you enjoyed it. It shouldn't be too long before you're back aboard ship again.

In the meantime there will be an XP bonus for this past session. 150 XP to everyone who gives their version of what Migwin missed during his "lost weekend" in the form of explaining it to him as he sobers up aboard the Blue Hippocampus.

Is that at the beginning of our 8 day cruise or at the end???
I guess he was recovering from all the Moss Ale ... at the start of the
voyage. Hey ... lets all play practical jokes on Migwin as we tell our
stories. How 'bout XP for the longest, crudiest running gag???

Hello,

I don't remember exactly what we had last time.  I am pretty sure this is a partial list, however:

2 x Chicken Balls
2 x Popcorn Chicken (or whatever the little breaded chicken bits were called)
Beef Chow Mien
Mixed Vegetables
Special Chow Mei
Sweet & Sour Chicken

I know there is something else that I am forgetting.  Shouldn't the menu be on this thread.  I thought that we posted it?

Anyways, I am up for changing the menu a bit this time around if people want to experiement.  How about Spring Rolls or Egg Rolls (if they are OK from our source).

I will have to leave early to pick up my parents from the airport, likely leaving at roughly 7:45.  Everyone OK with the order going in at about 5:30 or so and us eating right away?  I would like to do as much gaming as possible before having to leave.

Cheers

I couldn't find the last order we did in this thread either.

It was something like this though

125  Special Chow Mai
77    Honey Garlic Pork
95    Breaded Chicken
34    Chicken Shanghai Noodles
43    Beef Mixed Greens
69    Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls

there may have been multiples of some items, and I believe the consensus was that there was not enough veggies and too many noodles, and that the breaded chicken was superior to Nico's chicken balls.

Ah yes,

That list appears to be what I recall.  I agree with the cleric on the general consensus as well.  The breaded chicken was much nicer than the chicken balls.

I'm all for starting early if we can manage it. I seem to remember we went with 3 orders of breaded chicken and it all went. We can mix it up and do another veggie dish. If we figure out the exact order we can have someone call it in early and have it ready when we all arrive.

Hello,

If we are generally agreed with what we had last time, then my suggestion is we switch out the chicken balls for a pure vegetable order of some sort.  Not sure what they have on the menu, but something like that.  Perhaps mixed vegetables in black bean sauce if they have it (Very nice dish at other restaurants when I have had it).

Of course, again there is the option for vegetarian spring rolls or egg rolls (don;t know the quality).

Maybe just go with vegetable rice as a side order for more variety?

Cheers

I confessed last time that my chicken balls sucked!!!
I think last time we agreed to axe the balls and get the
breaded chicken instead. I usually love the balls so I will
be a want'n the breaded chicken instead!!!!!!!

I think we also agreed on another vegetable order cause
that also dissappeared to quickly last time. I will try to
leave work right at 3:30 this Wednesday to get more game on!

Tales from the Chronicler Nov. 7th Night 7

Blood Is Thicker In Suzail's Waters Part 1

The Party wakes in the morning and Beregon and Tharnog head back
to town; leaving Migwin and Grath to guard the Still and the Kegs. The
2 day trip back is uneventfull. Tharnog finds Cedrith at the Blind Seagull
after Cedrith spent his time visiting the Temple's Clerics about his visions.
Beregon takes the 1.5 pounds of Fire Elm Moss to Eldarr's Tower. The
man servant escorts Beregon to the busy Wizard upstairs who is cooking
....something. Eldarr is happy to get more Moss than was asked for and
starts arranging it in piles for his work. He is slightly suspisous of the
rest of the Party being missing - Beregon convinces him that
they are else where on other tasks. He agrees to let Percy go on the
next Salty Pete voyage as the Party has proved their salt in worth. Beregon
asks about their previous agreements & Eldarr agrees to Beregon peeking
into Eldarr's spell book and providing elemental protection potions with the
extra Elm Fire Moss left over. Beregon also asks about how he may sell or
trade the Wand of Darkness. Eldarr gives a name (Thonus) & address
42 Lakewood Road to the NorthEast of the Blind Seagull in town near a
Lake. Beregon and Party are invited for supper that evening and our
Wizard accepts graciously. Tharnog and Cedrith run into Beregon just
outside of Eldarr's tower as he takes his leave.

Migwin and Grath are passed out in the woods near the Copper Still
having drank their fill of 3 kegs (20 Gallons each) of Fire Elm Moss Ale!!!
They made their Fort Save inorder to drink and not die from 3rd Keg!!!

Cedrith questions Tharnog Why would you leave the Ale with the
Rogue and the Barbarian?
Tharnog shrugs it off Who else???
The trio heads for the address to trade or sell the Wand of Darkness.
They knock on the door of the house of Thonus and a slit in the door
opens - greetings exchanged - they're welcomed in by a friendly knome.
Meta Gaming Here : Grath says don't trust Knomes guys!!!
Thonus the knome appraises the Wand of Darkness the Party wishes to
dispatch - 100 GP. Thonus offers them a White Pearl. While
Grath is not there to appraise - Tharnog says it appears to be 100 GP.
Thonus offers to trade other stock - Party agrees that they might
return later.

The Party inquires into where they might get animals to help transport
Kegs - villagers indicate a Farm to the North of the town has PACK
ANIMALS. The Party agrees to check into the farm as they head out
the next day. They set about supplying themselves for the journey
back and hiring 10 people from the market. The Party picks up
enough trail rations (18) for the return trip - and hire 10 complete
strangers. Trustworty guys - Sheesh!!! The Party returns to
Eldarr's Tower and has a fine meal of Roast, Vegtables & Soup
some sort of dessert with fine Smoking and Brandy!!!!
Beregon
abstains from the Smoking and Drinking - Cedrith indulges though!!!
Eldarr and Beregon talk shop - magic and future plans for magic.
Eldarr passes on 6 potions of resist elemental cold from the left over
Elm Fire Moss. The Party returns to the Blind Seagull for the night.

Migwin and Grath are still passed out after this extra day. The
hope is that 2 more days they will sober up - yeah right!!! Probably
break open another Keg of Fire Elm Moss Ale!!!

Cedrith, Tharnog and Beregon gather their Party of Ten at the Market.
They hire 4 mules at 2 Silver/ Day at the Farm on their way out
of town back towards Migwin and Grath. The trip back is uneventfull -
except at the end of the 2 days they find ... Grath and Migwin nearly
recovered after double barrelling their stomach contents into an empty
Keg. The Party decides to rest before heading out
the next night. Cedrith decides to treat the Men to a treat - Good
Food, Drink, Music and Fellowship - He brings out a Keg of the Ale to
celebrate seeing as Beregon determines that the Ale will be illegal to
sell in town. Merriment and much rejoicing is had by ALL ... HURRAY!!!

Migwin decided to join in the festivities as he has sobered up and
recovered nicely. He sneaks in 2 more Barrel of Fire Elm Moss Ale
He probably drinks one himself 10 Men and Migwin are passed out!
Next morning everyone is just Blitzzed out of their skulls
Cedrith and Beregon are dismantling the Still after deteriming that the
magical enchantment on the Still will probably not be lost. Unfortunately
all the mules are needed to carry the heavy Still components. Beregon,
Cedrith and Tharnog think that each Man should be able to carry
2 barrels each - 1/2 the Party could carry barrels also while the remainder
guards the Party as they travel back. Cedrith goes to gather the men ...

Oh No ... they and Migwin are pissed drunk!!! After a day of
recovery the Men are ... almost Okay ... except poor Murbar and Simon.
Murbar and Simon failed their Fort. Saves and died - mean DM, mean DM!!!
Beregon dumps the rest of the Ale to insure no more accidents happen.
Murbar was a single guy and Simon ... 12 kids and a wife!!! mean Dm, mean!!
Cedrith and Beregon think the Party should compensate the family of Simon!
20 barrels are taken back by 8 Men, Migwin and Tharnog. Cedrith and
Beregon carry the 2 dead men and the Mules drag the Still parts.

The trip back is uneventfull and the Party drags the magical Still to Eldarr's
tower. Eldarr does indeed want the Still and will exchange for magical items.
The Party sells the barrels for 2 GP each and pays of their expenses plus for
the burial of the 2 men and the rental of the mules when returned to the
farm. The net profit from this adventure is 12 GP. The Party
agrees to give this money to the widow and 12 kids.

Eldarr the Wizard gives the Party magical weapons in exchange for the
magical Still, the Bec de Corbin and the Club +1 for:

Longsword +1, Dwarven Waraxe +1, Great Sword +1,
Wand of Magic Missle (3rd Lvl 50 charges), Wand of Detect Magic
Ever Burning Torch
He also gives them Percy but I don't think he
is magical!

He bids the Party well and says farewell to his son Percy - gets one final
promise from us that we will take care of his son. We march back to
Marsember with Percy - uneventfull trip. Much rejoicing -- HURRAY!!!!!
Salty Pete is reading in his cabin on ship & is happy to see Percy again.
At last we can set sail on our main voyage - details to follow - in 2 days.
Our Party has 2 days until we ship out - we are all happy to ship out soon.
Cedrith decides to keep Grath and Migwin on ship -somehow they
got more Ale - I thought Beregon dumped that stuff!
Migwin and
Grath are de-toxing - heavily! Tharnog decides to also stay on ship to
watch over his friends and looks forward to shipping out!

Beregon visits his family to find out his brothers have not been heard
from in over a month - 1 is detained in Suzail (Elren). Beregon is asked
by his mother and sisters to look in on any of them if he has a chance.
Beregon agrees to check on them and thinks that he should get
relatively close to Suzail. When Beregon gets back to ship in time to
set sail he finds out that we are indeed making port in Suzail.
Brine might indeed be in our viens - but - family blood is certainly thicker
in the vien then water. Beregon vows to help his kin when port is made!

Our 1st Sea Voyage, Migwin's De-toxing, and Grape and Vine Adventures
continue in Part 2 plus our recounting of Migwin's drunken tales as deemed
by our esteemed DM for XP bonus
Fun Times!!!

Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

Okay, here's what I'm thinking.

95 Breaded Chicken x2
77 Honey Garlic Pork
125 Special Chow Mai
34 Chicken Shanghai Noodles
54 beef with Broccoli
44 Barbecued Mixed Greens
132a Spring Rolls x6

That does come out to about $12 a man. We can chop some off of that by dropping the spring rolls. Let me know what you think.

I think we might have enough even without the Spring Rolls.  The two vegetable dishes look good to me.

How about drop the Spring Rolls and add one more order of Breaded Chicken.

The Saga of the Blue Hippocampus and it’s Illustrious Crew

November 14, 2007

Migwin’s Diary for Mirtul 10th, in the Year of Wild Magic

In the port of Suzail, capital of Cormyr on the Dragon Mere, the travels of our intrepid band continues. Beregon has led the group to the offices of the Merkwin trading company in search of his missing brother. He has been through here as recently as 3 days ago. There had been prior evidence to lead us to believe he had been kidnapped. They confirm his brother was here, but no clue as to his whereabouts. Beregon managed to recover his brother’s cloak from the offices. With no further clues, I suggest going and talking to the town guard, to see if they know anything.

Beregon relates the story to the Lieutenant on duty, but they don’t know of anything. We leave and examine the buildings in the area. We find out the building is too small for the business they are in, which seems suspicious. I think investigating the mansion outside of town seems more promising, less guards and a better chance to get away anyway. We leave town and head out there preparing to infiltrate their estates.

There are two guards at the front when we get there. We debate going into the back way. So I climb the fence, lowering a rope for Beregon to crawl up. There are dogs inside, and Beregon puts them to sleep with his magic. Tharnog and Cedrith and climb over as well. Grath isn’t with us, but when he was here in the afternoon (and invisible), he almost alerted them to his presence. We head over to the manor house, and up to root cellar doors. It is full of food and wine, but otherwise empty. A cook or someone is above washing dishes. I take a couple of bottles of wine, just in case we need them to make the guards look as if they were fighting over it.

We decide to bluff the cook, and I levitate a bottle of wine with Mage hand, as if a ghost were around. She comes to investigate, freaks out and runs away. We head up and are trying to find a way to go before anyone comes. Taking a set of stairs up, we find a hallway full of doors. Snoring comes from one of them, but Beregon’s brother doesn’t snore, so we skip it. We searched 2 rooms, find a painting of the organizations patriarch, and made a hasty retreat to the cellar, where we find ourselves locked in with the potatoes and wine.

Listening to the room upstairs, it seems a male guard is now doing dishes. I make some ghost type sounds and we try to bluff the guard, and he leaves in a hurry. We rush upstairs, and grab some table cloths to make ourselves into ghosts. We here guys rushing through the house. Armed guards are going door to door. I use my mage hand and levitate a sheet to make a ghost, one guard runs in fear, but the other attacks the sheets. I jump him and knock him unconscious. He calls out intruders first, so we jump out the window. I prop up the one guard I knocked out and cover him with a tablecloth then jump out the window also. Our plans are all bust, and we are nothing more than cat burglars. We go to bed defeated.

The next day we go down and stake out the warehouse. Tharnog takes a job moving boxes for the day, to investigate the warehouse. Cedrith and I remain on stake out. Tharnog finds a prison like complex in the warehouse, and recovers a shirt that Beregon identifies as his brothers. We decide to go to the town guard with our evidence and enlist the authorities’ aide. The guard has investigated it and knows he’s left town. They dispatch some guards to investigate, and find that the prison has been torn apart. But they know something is going on and are going to watch them. The best they could do was guess that Elren was aboard the Grey Talon en route to Westgate. We head back to the Blue Hippocampus and wait to depart. Hopefully Grath and Beregon are feeling better.

XP - TBD
