It was nice to get for league, not so nice to get spanked each game.

You may not use an Epic version of your League commanders but all other Epic figures are legal including non-drafted Epic commanders. | | | |

| 4 more regular sessions to go in this League and then the Finals at the end of March.
Next Saturday is the next session, and don't forget everyone by request it will be a 500 point game. You are not allowed to use an Epic version of your commander should there be one, nor an Epic version of someone elses commander. All other Epic figures are fine including non-drafted commanders.
After that session all players will have the opertunity to trade in their 2 current commanders for any single undrafted commader, starting from the bottom of the standings with preference given to those in attendance that day. Any commanders that were drafted by a player who has yet to play in the League will be eligible to be taken. | | | |

| In other gaming new I will be at the Gamers Lair Outpost this Saturday from 2 to 6 PM running a demo of the new DDM rules. Come on out and get a jump on learning the new system.

| Certainly something that could be considered. Let's see how the next few sessions play out.
Eight is a good number for having a clear cut winner for the finals after 3 rounds of play.
That being said only the top 8 placers get into the finals, should one or more fail to make it out for the last session their positions won't be filled by lower ranked players who do. | | | |

This week:
Wednesday - private function - game room closed closed
Thursday 200 points sanctioned DDM
Friday - Casual play minis, More DDm &/or Magic and/or other?
Saturday 10 am SWM 150 points sanctioned, 1 pm DDM 200 points non-sanctioned.
Coming soon - February 16th, Gopher the Music Inagural function
Mark Dobres is getting his DJ business up and running and here is a free kick off event. It's a social, without the $10 ticket. There will be the usual social type stuff being held at the Legion on Logan, along with a cash bar. We were talking about making the day time into a large gaming event, but I haven't had time to get to planning. How many people would be interested in a "Game Day" type of event prior to the social? Is it feasible to move the league game there (I know some of you come from the north end). Comments? Suggestions? Ideas? | |

| We got David L, Denise, Ryan and myself out, so we had ourselves a nice little tourney. Snig the axe was back riding a Nightmare, and with the help of his Fire Giant buddy rode off to victory. 3 close and very fun games!

Only Scott and I out for minis today at Gameknight. We played one game where my rolling did not work out. I think I killed one skeleton from Scott's warband, while he basically wiped the rest of my band off the board.
Oh well, practice is good I suppose.

This week,
Weds: D&D back on the menu!
Thurs: Valentines them DDM, all warbands must contain a couple (1 male and 1 female, same species -humanoids?)
Fri: Demo DDM 2.0, casual play magic and boardgames.
Saturday: Battle of Hoth Event SWM 10:00, DDM league - 500 points epic 1:00 pm, Kickoff social for DJ Dagopher (Gopher the Music DJ services) at Legion #2 Logan Avenue (admittance is free, cash bar, come out for early gaming in the afternnon, social kicks in at 8:00)
Otherwise the weekend was quiet. Just too cold I guess.

It is indeed the final session, something that was pointed out earlier. I imagine Scott hasn't had the opertunity to correct it.
As for the 22nd being a problem for people if it is we can look to change it to another date. The following week may be a little busy as i think that's when the Star Wars minis release event will be. How many people does the 22nd cause a problem for?

Kai It is a shame that the scene is slowing down a little. The cold certainly doesn't help but I think everyone has their own reasons why they don't come out as much anymore.
For me part of the reason is if I'm running D&D there wednesday, Demos and other stuff Friday, playing SWM and running leagues on Saturdays something has to give. Unfortunatly that is usually Thursday DDM.
I think some thought and discussion needs to be put into the reasons why attendance has dwindled and more importantly what can be done to get the community back to the regular close knit group we had.

if you are going to go the PANIC ATTACK route I suggest you bring a Gin bottle wrapped in a Paper Bag drink the Gin then breath with the bag works like a Charm lol | |

| I was just asking becuase Wizards sent me 5 to give away. The map does look interesting.
Most of the characters are from comics and other extended universe stuff, a lot of it in the New Republic or later eras. Although Canderous Ordo for instance is from KOTOR. | | | |

| D&D Minis 2.0 Demo Tonight!
The new system is less than 2 months away from offical release, come on down to Game Knight at 6 PM and get a head start on learning the rules.
So far from what I've seen it plays great, it's been a lot of fun to demo.
Free prizes to all who attend, not to mention I have 6 boosters to give away to people who buy product.
Who are you to resist?
And later in the evening it'll be time for some Super Hero RPG. All are welcome to come down and play.

This session is 500 points. And remember, no drafted commander may be used in their epic format.
At the end of tomorrow's session everyone will have the opertunity to trade their 2 commanders in for any undrafted commander as well as a commander picked by someone who at that point has yet to play a league sesson.
