| Tales from the Chronicler Nov. 7th, Night 7
Blood Is Thicker In Suzail's Waters Part II Time to finish!
....When last we left off - Migwin and Grath were de-toxining or sobering up onboard the Blue Hippocampus with Cedrith and Tharnog watching over them for 2 days. Beregon spent those days with his Mother and Sisters and found out that his Brothers have not been heard from in some time. Elren - 1 of Beregon's brothers - was apparently detained in Suzail; Beregon promises to look in on his beloved brother if Salty Pete makes port in Suzail. In fact, the Blue Hippocampus is making port in Suzail so Beregon will get a chance to look into Elren's dissappearance. Perhaps Salty Pete overheard about Beregon's family problems and decided to sail to Suzail in thanks for bringing Percy (Best Damn QuarterMaster in the 7 Sea's) from Eldarr's Tower - who knows either way we are happy to have the chance!
The Blue Hippocampus sets sail at last and our intrepid party of adventurer's are merrily at last to be at Sea. Clear blue day as the Sea Salt Mist sprays upon the decks. The wind in the Blue Sails and the Sun shining down. The crew enjoys the gentle sway of the rocking ship - except for Tharnog the Dwarf who is green in the Gills sick over the rail! Captain Salty Pete is running drills for the crew to get their sea legs as everyone has been landlocked for some time. The Sails are raised, lowered and raised or adjusted - Beregon and Cedrith are among them whistling a tune. Grath apologizes to Beregon about not using his 1st name - he explains that Tal is a great last name! And Grath does not yet have a last name to be proud of from a great ship! The Party muses that this will have to be rectified! The Hadozee is happy in the Rigging and flies from Mast to rigging to Mast again. Other than the sick Dwarf all are Merry . 8 days later we make port in Suzail. Captain Salty Pete grants everyone 3 days leave in the Port of Suzail - providing that they check in each evening to sign the book!
The 1st Day our Party scatters looking for Elren. Migwin and Tharnog begin to inquire at the The Rusty Anchor - and of course they must be social and blend in by ... Drinking!!! They drink & drink & drink & drink & drink and never die! And nothing new is discovered other than they must pay for some of their drinks by washing dishes! Cedrith, Beregon and Grath ask around and find at the Merchant Corner that a man matching Elren's discription may have journeyed 2 days ago out of Suzail to the Mercwin Estate.
Our Hero's gather and journey 2 hours to North - Mercwin Estate throuh farmers fields of wheat and grain. The main road takes them to a compound at the top of a hill. The Compound is surronded by a tall wall with 2 guards around the Main Gate. They will not allow them to pass and are none to friendily with their pole-arms. Cedrith and Beregon inquire about their Business Associate coming to the compound and are told that "none of their business!" Grath is visually agitated - but - the party marches off rather than risk a fight as physical force is threatened at this point! (I am sure Migwin would be ticked! - No cartoon pun intended - I think this is the point where Migwin is in the Brig )
Beregon sneaks to the back of the Compound with Grath. Beregon casts invisible on the Rogue who nearly blows the whole stealth by tripping on a vine - then thumps into a Peach Tree in the Orchard! This Rogue is no stealthy fellow! Grath climbs a tall tree and glides over the Compounds Walls and touches down. He spots the Mansion dead centre, a Shed to the North East and a plain warehouse to the SouthEast. Grath runs quickly (quietly) to the shed. Small 10 ft by 10 ft and is able to open it up without too much trouble. Nothing but tools inside. With time left for a quick search of the Plain Warehouse - Grath quickly makes his way there. He is able to make his way inside and finds a number of Grain Storage Bins. Grath skirts the inside perimeter of the warehouse as the center of the warehouse is clearly empty. Grath encounters a couple of men in the midsts of a private/hushed conversation. He stealthly makes his way towards the talking men so that he may overhear what is being said - trip - he spills over tons of grain from a bin. The men stop their conversation and come out to investigate. Grath's invisible time is nearly up - he makes his way outside as quietly as possible - and trips yet again on tools. He scales the warehouse quickly and glides out and over the Compound Walls to the Orchard outside. Grath touches down and is invisible for slightly longer - and is then visible!
Our party venture back to the 2 guards and mentions Elren Tal by name to see if this information has better luck with the guards. They are still very billigrant and unaccomodating. They threaten physical force if our Party does not move on. The Party decides to venture back to town and inquire more with the the local folks or the Official Records Office. Beregon inquires with the local town folk and finds that the Coat of Arms used by the Mercwin Estate is used by a group of Mercenaries not local to Suzail. They originate from Westgate and are of a disruptable reputation. They are very recent to Suzail and are not normally into agricultural produce.
Perhaps it is this time that Migwin was found to be in the Brig due to drunkeness - not sure. Although maybe Grath should join them as he goes missing next session. The Party decides to check with the official records cleark next session. Sorry it was a little late - turn back to previous page for what happened to the Party next ... .

Good times. Migwin's Diary (undated entry)
Well it was an interesting couple of days in this city. We followed up some leads about Beregons brother. They lead us to a mansion outside of town, we investigated, but unfortuantely Grath was nowhere to be found. It seemed to me that breaking and entering would require our stealthiest member. Well we got into the basement by putting the guard dogs to sleep. After that it all went down hill. We bluffed the scullerymaid to thinking there were ghosts, but the guards figured it out soon enough. We we chased away without any success.
Later on we tried a more direct approach, Tharnog the dwarf got a job moving boxes in their warehouse. He found evidence of captives (slaves oerhaps) and snuck away to let us know. I didn't think we could take them all on without getting arrested, so we went to the authorities. They raided the place and found evidence of the slave trade there. No signs of Beregons brother were to be found, and we suspect they shipped him off already.Â
Well, back to the boat and we leave port in another day.

| Sounds like sneaking in didn't work out so well. And the lazy ape was no where to be found eh? Well sounds like I might have been somewhat needed when I was nowhere to be found. Hey Mike - do I have to come up with why I was gone.
Keep the why we need a Rogue Stories coming. So far Scott is up for extra XP! | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

You were sick aboard the ship with Monkey Pox.
Percy was going to nurse you back to health with some of his Mom's famous chicken soup but as clumsy as he is he tripped and spilled the hot piping soup all over Grath's face. Ouch!

| Tharnogs Diary (Part 2)
We went through the city to the office place to try and find Beregons brother. We learned that the company of the mansion worked on the 3rd floor (Perfect place to glide for and escape) but we had no monkey. So Beregon tried the direct approach. He had found his brothers cape, but no brother. We went back to the mansion to try and find out if he was in there. We managed to put the dogs to sleep with the help of Beregon. We searched the house very quietly and almost got caught.
The next day we had an idea for me to get a job moving boxes at the warehouse we first checked out. I saw a room that looked suspicious for a warehouse to have. After about five minutes of I sneaked away and tried to get in the room. After a couple of times trying to bust it down it finally gave way. I looked inside and I saw manacles for prisoners and a piece of ripped sweater. I got out of there as quickly and quietly as possible. When I got back to the group I showed Beregon the piece of sweater I took. He had recognised it as on of his mother’s makings. And he suspected that he went on board with that order. We talked to Salty Pete about following it and he said he could get some boxes of stuff to ship to there. And we leave tommorow.

| Wow, that makes me feel more missed and wanted ...not loved; but, who wants wild monkey love anyway?
So I could have glided in and out (unique to me). I search pretty good and and looks like you could have used that help. Locked rooms in this narrative so I could have helped there. You definitely needed a Rogue; but, did you really need Grath specifically ....? After all .... in the chronicles I wrote I messed up the stealthy part. Sounds like you didn't get to far .... but .... would Grath really have helped???
Someone could try arguing that Grath would have made things worse???? | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

| Hello,
Well, I may be too late here for any bonuses, but here goes.
Beregon missed Grath the most of all, as the life of his brother is on the line. It now seems that Elren has been sold into slavery and is bound for Westgate. What curse stalks my family?
If only Grath had not had the monkey pox perhaps we might have been in time to rescue my brother. Of course, Grath appears to have given me a mild case of the monkey pox as well, as I was ill when Tharnog went off to case the warehouse.
Still, sneaking and gliding are somewhat of a specialty for Grath, and he is now better with locks and searching for things.
That is why Beregon missed Grath the most.
Of course, the rest of the party may now feel that I am pulling everyone into danger with my family connections. Darn evil mercenaries.
I wonder if Ugluk is behind all of this?
Cheers

| Grath is the winner - I mean Garret!!! Congrats!!!
They were all good - but Garret's was in a natural log from his point of view that flowed as a story which is what Mike had specified. Garret had said outright how I was to be usefull but also was the 1st to mention it subtly too. Congrats to Scott whose was the first factual diary and Chris also whose was personally motivated but not really anything new.

| Not sure about that one Garret. I think they are kidding - but not. Meaning you get a freeby for now with time off for good behaviour. But - if ya keep doin stuff like that there are consequences. You don't think I am goin to just keep doin things without telln people? Do ya. (Pushing Shell traps so pitts open below ya )
The time to worry is when a whole bunch of whispering, passing notes and secret die rolls and snickers go on. Then one day the DM just ... springs in on ya. Who knows ... maybe Lannister's trial came about due to ... Oh say Bach doin something ... then again maybe it was only Mike. But Scott had to have done something... then again Mike can be mean. Best to stay on his good side.
Best not to tick off the DM and the rest of the Party. Grath is going to start behaving better now | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

I think I should behave a bit more with the parties wishes. I'll still be wide eyed and green with envy whenever treasure is involved ... but more of team player. Besides my Rogue is very lovable .... until!!! you know!!!

| Tales from the Chronicler Nov. 21 Night 9
The Crimson Pirate's Haunted Booty Part I
The Blue Hippocampus sets sail the next morning on a gloriously clear sunny day! Before setting sail Beregon sent a letter back to Marsember from the Port of Suzail to his Mother and Sisters that he is following Elren to Westgate Beregon sent the letter off before the final loading of Westgate's cargo was taken on by Salty Pete. The ship is now heading SouthWest towards open sea out of the waters of Cromyr. The crew is merry and in good spirits as they go about ships business. They even break out in song as they work the deck and Tharnog's Jug playing is even melodonic ... or pleasantly recognizable!!! The district of Cromyr is left for open waters as the ship sails into the night.
Morning breaks and a thick, omnious morning mist hangs everywhere around ship. Sailors being superstitous are uneasy as the fog never lifts into late morning. The ship is still in the water or becalmed - the crew is unnerved. Grath the Rogue climbs the rigging to the crow's nest to see what he can see! Beregon and Cedrith gaze out into the horizon and Beregon fears innwardly as he determines that ... the fog is magical and summoned by conjuration magic. Beregon informs Cedrith, Migwin and then Tharnog and advises them to keep their own Counsel on it! Beregon and Cedrith go to inform the Captain as Migwin and Tharnog try to calm the crew.
Grath scans the horizon in every direction and spots ... a Red Errie Glow to port. It looks like ... a Red hazy Sun ... how far ... Captain Salty Pete takes Beregon and Cedrith down below for private counsel. He knows of the mists likely magical nature, but does not know why? He tasks our heroes with this away mission to find the origin of this magical mist- and if possible - neutralize it or report back. Take what resources and crew are necessary but keep things quiet as to not alarm the crew. They emerge atop deck to Grath's descry of a Red Sun to Port 300 yards!!! So much for being quiet grumbles Beregon as he could not inform Grath before going below as to being quiet and discrete.
The terrified sailors rush to the Port rail and are murmuring and straining to see ... nothing. Cedrith spots with his keen Elven eyes ... a red glow around ....a ship. Quietly he informs his party members and Grath who glides down from the Nest. Cedrith notices that the ship does not edge any closer ... all is still. Our Heroes climb into a row boat with 2 crew to row them towards the mystery ship - Migwin & Grath in the Bow, Beregon flanked by either rowing sailor and Cedrith and Tharnog in the Stern. Salty Pete wishes them good luck as Beregon asks that Percy be kept safe while we are away. Off into the Magical Mist we row!!!

| Been meaning to get to this for a while. Aside from the intrepid heroes of out story this is the current crew manafest of the Blue Hippocampus (Salty Pete's temporary ship).
Captain: Salty Pete (The grizlled sea veteran.)
First Mate: Mustafa (A strong, mute Turmish sailor with a mysterious plan.)
Quartermaster: Percy Finch (The youthful son of Eldarr, strong head for figures but accident prone.)
Sailors: Frantaslav (A supersticious sailor with a dour attitude from Procampur, he signed on for the maiden voyage in Marsember.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Van Gelder (A cheery sailor from Cormyr with a giant mustache, he signed on for the maiden voyage in Marsember.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Doby (A farm boy from Shadowdale, ran away to become a sailor. Joined the crew in Suzail.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Xixpel (A mean and angry but capable sailor from Mulmaster. He joined the crew in Marsember.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Corbo Delespi (A rakish young sailor from Sembia, he joined the crew in Suzail.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Hannover (A quiet, pious sailor from Suzail. he joined the crew in Marsember.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Mendlebaum (An extremly superstitious older sailor from Sembia. He joined the crew in Suzail.) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Perkins (A happy go lucky sort, joined the crew in Suzail.)
More details to be added as you come to learn about the crew or as they die off and are replaced by new members......
