Friday night not looking so good for Dreamblade this week with Richard away and Nico saying he's out....

My estimate for gas is probably high, its around 3600km round trip at a buck a liter and a car that does 10L/100km thats only $360, I think my car gets about 8L/100km.
So it might not be too expensive.
So far I think it is just Yourself, Myself, Bach & Jay. If we drove, we could use my van. It has room for extra people and or bags. It can hold 8 people, but that would be very tight. 4-6 would be more comfortable. If you budget $100 for fuel, maybe we should look at airfare. The money we each would make working that extra day would probably be enough to cover it.

Air Canada - roundtrip $205
hotwire.com - roundtrip $520
Expedia.ca - roundtrip $620
I don't know why Air Canada is so much cheaper. I was also thinking a flight out on Wednesday woould mean we would be in Indianapolis the day before the con. This would mean 1 extra day at the hotel. Or we could leave friggin' early on Thursday, but that will make for a long day. We could fly out Sunday evening and be back for work on Monday.
If anyone can figure out how to get airfare cheaper, please investigate. Road trips can be fun, but arduous. I think if we can get airfare under $200, and preferably under $150, that would be the way to go. | |

| I'm looking at air canada now and the cheapest I can find is 225 to get to indy wednesday or thursday and 255 sunday to come back so thats 480 before taxes round trip.
I tried expedia too and the best I could do was $700 per person based on 4, for flight and hotel.
Leave winnipeg at 7:35am and arrive in indy at about 1pm on thursday. Leave indy at 8pm sunday and get back just after midnight monday morning.
That doesn't leave a lot for gaming and food out of my $1000 budget, basically 1 persons flight costs as much as 4-6 people driving it. | |

| @jacksonm - I think I would play either the CG or LE bands from your list of 4 at the top. Using the LE version could be really fun with the spawn ability of the Terro Wight. Just bring a few extras with you to the match.
@Richard - If you are reading this thread while at XP, please bring back swag. I am sure we can arrange trades for anything good you might pick up. I am hearing about nice dice and stuff on various of the preview/news threads.
@the GenCon crowd - I don't think I would take Mike up on his shipping offer, who knows where you might end up.

| It's a go. We need another warm body to replace Bach. Sonia and Christian also may end up not showing up, so there may be even more space. Marco is bringing some other games as well, and I have some too.
@ Rob - I think you're right about air Canada. I may have been reading it wrong. Driving it is. 2 more bodies and we'll be able to play D&D on the road trip down there. | |

| I'll try to show up for Crushing Catacombs (Not Collapsing Caverns as said on the scheduals) in April. I'll print off the rules and give them to Beer Baron in case I can't make it.
I finally got an Orc Wizard which makes my losing to Chris not as bad. What rare did he pull anyway?
Here's some ideas for future themes for tournies:
Back in the Day
200 pts.
Special Rule: 12 fig activation limit with tiles
Infected Allies
200 pts.
Special Rule: A random mini in each warbands carries a disease which deals it 5 magic dmg at the end of each round. The infected mini can get rid of the diease by dealing melee dmg to an enemy. The enemy that takes the dmg then becomes infected. A mini can be infected more than once.
Rare Sight to See
200 pts.
Special Rule: Each warband must have one, and only one, rare figure in it.
Rock, Paper, Scissors (I can't spell scissors)
200 pts.
Special Rule: Warbands must have two of the three following in its warband. Rock - A mini with the ability burrow.
Paper - A mini painted with its main colour white.
Scissors - A mini visably wielding a double edged sword.
Welcome to Mechanus
200 pts.
Special Rule: Youre warband must have at least 100 points worth of constructs in it.
Family Portrait
200 pts.
Special Rule: 150 points of your warband must be one type of mini (i.e. 150 points of dwarves, or orcs, or ogres, ect).
Bar Fight
200 pts.
Special Rule: Warbands can't have a mini that deals magic dmg. One mini in each warband gains the ability stagger (This mini doesn't have to charge in a straight line). You choose which mini in your warband gets the ability.

| sorry I've been out of the loop for so long. So, Gencon, have we decied if were flying or driveing?
Also, Campainge outfitters has closed. I went there yesterday only to find it abandoned. But the fellow who ran it has moved to a new location on the corrnor of Mcdermot and albert in the exchange. it is now under the banner of Imagine Games. After speaking to the owner (how's name i can't remeber) He said he sold Campainge. but we wouldn't let on to who, he just said some corprate guys.
could this be a new show in town? Will Gameknight fall to the newcomer? Not on my watch. | |

| Hi all. Campaign was done Dec 31st, but Pedro is planning on re-opening in the exchange district under the new name soon.
Shadowlord - some good ideas there.
Idzy - I'll update the schedule soon (in my spare time).

Bach's D&D Wednesday (yay!!!)
League night Thursday (go team Undermaugs!)
Dreamblade Friday
SWN & DDM Saturday, both theme games
In other news, GameKnight has a truck. I just got a gimme from my dad, a 1986 Ford V8 1/2 ton truck (Explorer I think). It is destined for a custom blue paintjob this summer, but for now I just have to get out to Morden to pick it up. I was thinking of getting a custom plate and the ideas so far include:

It was a lot of fun. Despite all the inclement weather my flights were fine and I arrived in good shape in washington.
I did ok in league play going 5-0, but I only did get the five games in. I didn't do all that well in the merc assault (2-2), did pretty crappy in the constructed (0-3, drop to play in epic), but I won the epic tournament (4-1), and made top 8 in the limited championships (6-2). Unfortunately that meant no Unhallowed prerelease for me, and I ended up losing to Robert Hatch in the first match, so I didn't get to win one of the shiny trophies. But I did have a good time, especially at the community draft.
Each of the top 8 for the Limited Championships also got two boosters of Unhallowed and one of mine had the Beholder Lich in it. Other rare was Van Richten.
All in all, between the prizes for winning the Epic Tournament and all the sealed play I came back with something like 16 more boosters worth of minis, including:

Gith Dragon Knight

Lord of Blades
