I copied the quote and left it as is. I figured that if you needed some time, then let us know the day of. I know that my wife had to have major abdominal surgery back in 2000, so I completely understand needing to be with your wife.

| I'm not sure if in the original post there were some guidelines, but I know that one person might bring a starter of Harbringer, I was looking at getting a couple of Dragoneye boosters. I think some other people had some promos or repaints.
I think it would be safe to say that a prize should be something other players might find interesting to win. Anyone else checking remember a guideline for prizes? | |

I think that Chris Groves had mentioned he has a red dragon (metal) he might toss in. Perhaps you can repaint an Ochre Jelly into a large sized black pudding? What ever it might be we'll toss it in the pot.
Last year we had so much prize support from Kiddoc's local store (or maybe it was just Kiddoc himself) that everyone got a couple of turns to pull something out.
When in doubt, toss in a crap rare, or a booster from some set or some such.

Bring something at least. I think in our last discussion we said we'd just go through the prizes in order of final standings and keep looping until it is all gone. That way everyone gets something at least.
And since it's MaxMinis and it's all about trading and swapping things around, it kinda fits. | |

| Perhaps.... That will likely conflict with the 200 point sealed event that starts at 3:00. If we had a 9:00 start time, we'd have to have the tourney outside the Convention center, and peopl "might" be finishing up with the sealed, but likely not, last year it went till midnight.
Certainly Saturday won't work, and we're trying to avoid the all night tournament.
That leave Evening on Thursday (Starting sometime between 6-9), Friday during the day (People who are trying to qualify are out),or Friday evening. Friday evening has to be early so people are rested for saturday morning.

| Sunday is definately OUT.
They have now announced that Nationals will be held on Saturday, but that the final 8 that move on to the elmination round will get held over till Sunday at 10:00 am.
We should start a thread in general and get peoples opinions, but I'm leaning toward Thursday evening (8:00 start time?!)

| I vote for a late Thursday time for the "event". It seems that would conflict with the fewest number of other events. Plus it gives us a chance to meet each other early in the Con. That way we can have the ice broken throughout the Con. We gamer-geeks need all the help we can get. [)]
I also vote that we play Assault only to mimic the format du jour.
BTW, I will definitely be going to GenCon and this is one event that I plan on participating in.

| Chattan has some good ideas. I plan on being at Gencon but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this after all. I'll be with several friends and we will only have one vehicle with which to travel back and forth to con and hotel so my movements may be limited.
For instance, let's say the Maxminis tourney starts at 8pm and my buddies all want to head back to the hotel at 10pm. Might have some problems there. I suppose some kind Maxminis member could give me a ride back to my hotel in that event, but these are just some of the things I'm thinking about right now. | |

If we shoot for a 9:00 start time, the single elimination should have started for the sealed event.
Seems like there are a ton more conflicts this year (which is good for the game!), so we need to pick the time which is "most" convienient.

Am I eligible to participate in the Maxminis Tournament? As a newcomer to Maxminis I didn't know whether I had to have a certain number of posts, etc. to qualify to play. | I just found out yesterday that I will be there on Miniatures Staff. My primary role will be working with the first Axis and Allies Miniatures League on Saturday and Sunday. I should be off by 9pm Thursday so I'll play assuming nothing else is going on that I need to be involved in.
