Maybe it's because we all really like the great indoors - where we can play games!
Soooo............who's up for Betrayal at House on the Hill tonight? It's kinda like minis - you get 1 mini and have to explore a haunted house. I person becomes the betrayer halfway through the game, and has to try to kill everyone else, while everyone else tries to stay alive. No one knows who the betrayer is, until some unfortunate soul gets chosen by a dice roll. Then the mayhem begins! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!!!!! | |

| Yeah that was fun. First time I got to play in almost a month! I got my but whooped by Ty in the first game in 3 rounds - Completely!!! After that every game was close. I got lucky.
I was using Chaotic Good:
Half Orc Fighter - commander 2 (I know he's LE, but tonight "half" is legal)
2 x Half ogre Barbarian
Halfling Wizard
2 x timber wolf (yeah, they weren't half anything unless you count them as half useless)
This band suffered from bad saves, vs breath weapons and morals saves. But hey, I was working with the theme, right?

1 x Village Priest
1 x Loyal Earth Elemental
1 x Werebear
3 x Caravan Guard
I ended up 2-2, but it should have been 3-1 (I messed up against Paula in my first match when she was up by only 6 points). I might even have been able to go 4-0 if I had not rolled 2 1's in a row in a critical situation against Scott.

| Yes, the tournament tonight was fun. It was good to get back into it after a long busy summer, at the lake.
I look forward to the day I can go 5 full rounds in a timed game, maybe the new maps will help with this when the time comes. It always seems to be that next round when things are about to get interesting.
I really do need to get out and skirmish more often. I totally forgot that the Scullcrushers have that ranged attack, doh! | |

It's been a while since I won a tourny. Let me see, that's 3 saturday tournies and 1 thursday tourny. (2 100's, 1 200, and one 500)
It was a 500 point game. I was sporting:
Justicator (Epic)
Beholder
Gauth
Steel Pred
Rakshasa
Death Knight
It went better than expected.
First round was Richard. He was playing:
Archmage x2
Aspect of Kord (Epic)
Inspiring Marshall x2
Xeph Warrior x2
Satyr
Eberk
He had me on the ropes until I paralysed his epic aspect of kord, won initi, and killed it before it came out of paralysis. Than all I had left to kill were the archmages. I ended up leaving Richard with an archmage, satyr, and an Inspiring Marshall.
Richard you always put up one heck of a fight![:D]
Next was Jay. He had:
Dark Naga
Beholder
Mina, Dark Cleric
Gauth
Huge Red Dragon
Duergar Champ x2
I think I rolled about 5 or 6 flesh to stone eye rays on the dragon. He was turned to stone at about the 6th flesh to stone eye ray.
I kept the Death Knight up at the front so the beholder didn't do much to the rest of my army. After that it was mostly hack and slash and a couple eye rays here and there. My Death Knight was cursed by Mina and slowed by the beholder. Poor guy.
Last was Paula. She had:
Elminster (Epic)
Evermeet Wizard
Wand Expert
Longstrider Ranger x2
Sword Archon
Monitor Lizard (Summon)
Celestial Dire Badger (Summon)
Timber wolf x2 (Summon)
This was probably my hardest match today. I started off strong, but I made some bad rolls and decisions. Fisrt off, I had my Justicator go in alone after Elminster. He used that silver flame spell and sent my Justicator back to the assembly tile without taking damage himself. Second, My Beholder didn't roll very well aginst the sword Archon which later killed my steel pred without him using his cone. I almost lost this match. In the round before the last round I figured out that if I kiled the Sword Archon (Which I was easily going to do with my gauth) I still wouldn't have had enough points because my steel pred was dead, but I managed to rout one longstrider, and kill the wand expert in the process which just put me over the top. I don't believe I didn't even hurt Elminster once. I'll admit, once Paula gets some better figures and a bit more practice, she'll be competetive to play aginst.
I ended up with two boosters. One from working and one from the tourny. I got a Dromite Wilder in my tourny booster and a Dreagloth in my work booster. Paula helped me get the work done faster so she got a couple picks out of the work booster.
All in all, a good day (Except for the Dromite). But The Beer Baron has challenged me to come up with a good dromite band.
