| Hey guys, about yesterday, i really was hoping and wondering... if i would actually be able to change my character to a tech specialist ... I really was considering it, and although it would have been new, i REALLY REALLY would enjoy playing a Tech Specialist. I Understand that everyone basically has the skills of a tech specialist, but i would definatly really enjoy playing a modest shy young engineer, who wishes to become a chief engingeer some day. As a hobby would also create droids and blasters because well... lol who doesnt need a blaster these days in ages, and all kinds of droids. I would just change ability scores to 9 12, 12 14, 18 12 (18 origionally from CHA to switch with the 14 of INT then -->) I would just boost up his con and strength by one point and drop his CHA by 2 to represent his shy persona, having a mild bonus for gathering the appropriate information. I feel this would be very enjoyable to play this kind of character as I could play the modest shy genious who in other terms on his down time "creates his friends".
In the end I feel that this should be a group decision.... but i would greatly appreciate it from the bottom of my post.   As i have not been formally introduced i was wondering if this was still possible. Having a +4 intelligence could always become handy as well and i could learn 4 different launguages  anyone need a personal translator . All joking aside, I know that we have scotchy and i wouldnt mind taking over that character, but i would rather develop my own story line, instead of taking over a most of the time drunk engineer we found ... ... ... naked... :S as that really is not in my personality, and he has basically been set, and even in real life, i could care less for drinking and that is a trait i even bring into my RPing ...
Forgive me for this request but it is one i would be ever so grateful for, if allowed i will post my characters statistics to explain what my character would have, and I will create a back story for him minimum one page

I found out that it is not illegal to have military grade equipment, especially if it is prevalent, as it says in the arms and equipment guide, specifically
" Prevalent: The equipment is readily availiable throught the galaxy "
" Military: The item is usually availiable only to governmental organizations or to those with ties to them - but privte ownership of surplus equipment is not too uncommon. The given price is for a surplus item of servicable quality"
In the end as i see it as long as something is prevalent it, as typed above for the military description, it seems that people have access to military equipment all the time. Think of the army surplus basically as well, hell u can get relish off them, although they SAY that only CF members have access to it. Now that shield generator we got, may NOT be prevalent but as long as it doesnt have the Illegal Description or Licenced description it is not uncommon that you would have something like that in your posession. lol Basically again just as another example of equipment, now i could understand if u had a private retinue or maybe at most 20 battle droids that would be pushing but still, say around there, well there readially accessable, and it wouldnt be uncommon for baktoid to sell them to people for personal protection, but now having a private army of 100+ im sure the Republic government would kind of well wonder what your doing and basically have you go through paperwork and licencing galore to keep possesion of MOST of your BD's. in anycase thats what i just noticed about the wording, sort of like a loophole cause well hey, its in the Arms and Equip guide so its lagit

| We had 6 people out for minis tonight, Richard, Norm, Jay, Jory, Chris Love, and myself. Not the greatest tournout but enough for a nice tournament none the less. Hopefully attendance gets back on the upswing again soon.
Richard was the winner of the evening going 3-0 and defeating Jory, Chris and myself along the way.
Woohoo, Storm Archer repaints for everyone.

| Yup, Epic Tordek was able to pound his way to victory. He avoided rolling any 1's on morale saves, and only rolled 2 1's on attack rolls instead of like 4 or 5 on Saturday. I'd have preferred to alter the band some, but never got around to it. Lost map initiative every round too, so I wasn't able to pull my first turn dimension hop onto a teleport and then fire away with the ballista. I was fortunate to get a pair of 80 damage criticals with the ballista, one on jory's 2nd purple worm, the other on Mike Epic Moradin.
But Tordek was able to avoid getting swallowed whole and pummel a couple of purple worms, then my support scattered to the four winds to avoid evil bahamut breath weapons long enough for tordek to pound on Big B (mephling came in handy here to do 5 damage to bahamut with a lesser orb spell to make up for the flaming bolt only doing 45 damage so that tordek only needed 4 hits to kill Big B), and then tordek disposed of his evil twin and false god. SS and CoDA healing were more valuable than the Epic Moradin. | |

| I was looking at the Slayer and thinking...hmmm...... Mind you there is no "ban" on Couatl/Ballista/Tordek, I think it would be a challange to play something else. Be inventive. If I play, and I'm hoping to, I'm going to make something a little obscure. What that is yet I don't know.
Richard - pretty close. I may put the boosters at $15.99, and do the math the same way. Right now we are $13.99, which is $1 over US MSRP of $12.99. Retail store discounts are also shrinking by 1-2% on most items as well. But we'll see. | |

| My plan of assassinating his commander and routing his Dragon didn't work. Damn LG vs LG bands. Lg can't hit Lg worth a damn. He killed my commander and the slaughterstones went poof. Argggg. But yeah, it's good for the kid's morale.
First ever Edge tourney, only 1 person. Dissappointing after getting 7 out to our first ever Dreamblade tourney. Now I have to file a tournament cancelled report.

This week should be fun:
Wednesday: Pirates or Star Wars RPG. I have a bad feeling about this. Yarrrrrr! Most likely SWRPG will keel haul pirates yet again. Maybe some folks can show up early and show me the booty! (ie...get a game of pirates in).
Thursday: D&D minis 200 points constructed. One more Sept Retailer kit left. Come and get it! Sadly I have a function to attend to, with copious quantities of locally fermented malt beverages. Sighhhhhh.......
Saturday: Star Wars minis 200 points at 10 am.
Also, Dreamblade Edge tournament at 10 am, come on out, we only need 4 people!
D&D minis "Battle the Colossal Red Dragon" at 12:30 pm (CRD's wanted).

Methinks trying to kill a commander and then rout an LSD is not a high percentage chance for victory.
LG can hit LG just fine. As long as you've got a marut or use the couatl to bring in the aspect of kord. Play something like two maruts, dwarf artificer, mialee, warforged scout, fodder for activations.
How is the kill the collasal red going to work? I might be able to try my hand at that. | |

| I was using the warpreist of Moradin. Kill the opponents commander, and every hit forces a morale save if they (the LSD) was out of command. Using 2 slaughterstones, there should have been enough morale saves that statistically he should have failed one sometime.
I challenged everyone to build something without a Couatl, so I wasn't going to put one in myself. It wasn't a tier 1 warband design, granted.
Kill the CRD, as a tournament might be hard to work for prizing. But basically each person gets a chance (or two) to fight the dragon, and then be the dragon. I might work it in such a way as the person who beats it, and has the most points of creatures left is our winner. Or maybe it will just be for fun. Or we could do teams, etc...
Anyone have any other ideas?
My alternative would be to play a different tournament I thought up - 500 points epic with no rares. | |
