| David Letterman's Top Ten reasons for Group 1 The Bad News Beers Reasons for Survival.
The Bad News Beers, consisting of Migwin, Tharnog, Cedrith, Grath, Bosephus, and the orcish concubine of Jars are in a bit of a pickle, but with their tenacity for survival, they shall make it back home alive. Here are the Top 10 reasons why:
1) We have Bosepheus (Elminster) the Pig tenderer. With his extreme combat prowess, how can we lose? He hits in combat at least 9 out of 10 times! And when his secret identity becomes known, well the tigermen will just surrender!
2) We have Gorilla Dust! Well we have Grath, and dammit he's a lucky monkey! If we gets chased, he'll through banana peels behind us causing our enemies to slip and fall, or to be delayed in actions from laughing so hard that we can make good our escape! He is a proven reliable locksmith with no equal. The new rogue is nice, but you can't charm those locks now can you? But good old Grath, with a sprinkling of gorilla dust, can open just about everything!
3) We have Tharnog's smarts. Sure he kept them in a jar back on the wrecked Hippocampothingy, but we gots Tharnog! And he can make more smarts! And Tharnog has plenty of smarts to spare. See, he never holds the sword by the blade does he? And he knows the bad guys when he sees them. Go smashy now Tharnog! He truly is a fighter without peers!
4) We have Cedrith! He's also got smarts, and can use the crystal ball the other mage (with not enoug smarts to know we'd be separated) left behind! Well, Team Beers can use it, and we'll figure a way out with the crystal ball and Cedrith. And when he figures out what got Stike Force Ooops into trouble, well he'll make sure we don't make their mistakes. And should Tharnog not kill everything before it kills us, then there is plenty of healing to go around.
5) We have Big Mig! With great plans (remember the sack of potatoes plan that would have worked), a bit of muscle and some spells as well, we have plenty of options! If we get caught, they can't take his spellbooks away. If he loses his weapons or has them taken away, he'll just throw the tigermen around.
6) We have tweeter! That little brd with a whole bunch of hit points will help to save the day. He can squak and fly around and deliver touch spells! And he can poop on their windsheilds!
7) We aren't in a cell locked up. Right there we have a competitive edge. From our vantage point it should be plenty easy to make our escape. BUt it isn't abour being competitive, it is about being one big team. And we are in a better position to rescue them than they are us!
8) We aren't about to be discovered by prison guards. Maybe passersby will find out we're there sooner or later, but probably later than the prison thing. I mean face it, if they are smart enough to install a no-teleport-out ward, thay were proably smart enough t install a teleport in warning ward, and they already know who teleported in and when!
9) We have Jars disguise kit. Yes he left the tiger scap behind. While Mig is too tall, and Tharnog too short, and Grath to hairy, and orc ho too orcish, Cedrith can wear it and fake out the tigermen!
10) We also have Jars ho. And what else goes better at a rescue attempt/escape plan than a homely orc chic who speaks no English (common)? Well we can get her to grunt and show off her uglies! (No I mean it, uglies) When the tiger men are cringing in disgust, we'll clobber them Tharnog style!
But is isn't just about our team being better (or if not better, then better positioned!), it's about teamwork! If we combine the truly great team of Bad News Beers and the really good team of Team Strike Force Awesome, we would get the unified team "Bad Strike News Force Awesome Beers!".
And that just works well on so many levels! | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| I am ashamed; I should have had more faith in my team! Cedrith and Migwin have made me feel embrassed.
Now it is my comrades who are superior in the ways of the uber list. Friends teach Grath the true meaning of teamwork ...
Now how 'bout that XP DM??? Garret! Repost! Repost! The DM is coming! Eat your own heart making list Beregon!!!! Kidding ... no competition as Migwin said wisely above we are ... one Big Team!!!

| And MJ did post that he wants to hear from all the members on the team. So far we heard from me (Migwin), dorge (tharnog), Nork (Grath), and Idzy (Cedrith). Well, I'm posting this except from a recent interview transcript from the other member of our party, Ogella (orcish comcubine).
So, Ogella, what do you think your odds of survial are with your current party members?
Goot! Skinny pretty man has spells. Dwarf hits good too, almost as good as my Jar Jar! Monkey smells too pretty, but him good with locks. If his pretty smell don't give us away. Other tall man good with big magics too, and he throw people who make him mad. Him don't get as mad as my Jar Jar!
And what skills and feats can you contribute to their success?
Ogella can seduce tiger men! I good at Snoo Snoo! I can make them fall in love with me long time! Then lots of Snoo Snoo! If that no work (tiger mens gay I thinks), then I can bite them really hard. Not the good bitin', buts a bad bitin'. Not like leaving teethmarks kind bitin' but leaving holes in their furry skins kinda bitin'.
And what will you do if you don't rescue your Jar Jar?
Me be sad, for him treat me better than last master. But me get new master. Maybe one with-out such hairless pale skin. Then have more Snoo Snoo!
So Ogella, is your team better than the other team?
A'yup. We not in jail. We in zombee makin' place. Zombeez not so goot for eatin, but we have other parts that goot eatin makes. Other teem een jail. They become Snoo Snoo slaves for bigger masters now. Mebbe not so goot ones as Jar Jar!
And there you have it. A complete reporting for Team Bad News Beers. With each member adding it's strengths, we can't lose. And in the meantime, we can entertain ourselves with plenty of Snoo Snoo. Hey...stop that....don't lick me there........oww!

| Hello,
I am OK with Tacos if we want to do that, but I have to admit I have never eaten at Taco Time, so no idea on quality. I would also go for George's if there is more of a move there.

| Hello,
Since Beregon has been challenged to make a longer list, here we go ...
Strike Force Awesome will survive because:
1) We are in position to initiate a slave revolt in the arena. In the confusion we can get away by hiding in lots of out of the way places. All the other team can do is disguise themselves as zombies with rotting zombie parts in order to move about town.
2) If we don't start a revolt we can try to slip out of the building in one of the dead body carts. This will have us delivered to the necromancy place pretty quickly, since dead bodies are taken there daily by what we know.
3) Jars does have a Belt of Giant Strength!
4) We will likely be able to find Salty Pete's flaming sword, and everybody knows that Salty Pete is invincible when he has his sword.
5) Salty Pete might actually be Eliminister in disguise, not that Bosephus imposter.
6) There is always a trash compactor entrance in the cell block, all we do is drop down a chute and avoid the dianoga (whoops, wrong genre).
7) We know the bad guys likely know we are there, so we are better off than the other team who don't know if anyone knows they are in the loft apartment of the necromancer.
8) We don't make up dialogue for our NPCs.
9) I've said it before, and I will say it again, we are pretty quiet in contrast the the Beers.
10) Our actions will actually give Cedrith something to scry that he can focus on, otherwise he has no known targets (except zombie crew members).
11) Our actions in the arena show cause chaos amongst the tigermen. We can leave distracting clues because Beregon has chalk and can write in both Infernal and Celestial.
12) We don't have a "known" celestial agent on our team that the enemy will be hunting (Grath don't you know).
13) Jars really does want to get back to his concubine. That combined with a will to live gives us plenty of incentive to stay on track.
14) Beregon needs to stay alive to rescue his brothers.
15) We are Strike Force Awesome, and no alcohol has dulled our wits.
Cheers

I think the DM's going to go with a couple of them, chicken style.

Ack! We got cursed from the beginning with the name Bad News! Who wouldn't do better with Awesome in their name?
And I tried to show some originality, but noooooo, only the longest list counts. Well, I can make some pretty frikkin' long lists if that's all that matters..........
Anyway, congrats to Strike Force Awesome. I really think you guys had the better chance anyway. So get your arses out of their and come rescue us. I don't think I can stand the smell around here much longer. | But you had beer in your team name so it balances out.
And it's not the length of the list but the quality there in that matters to the DM. It was close though, makes me wonder if I should htach my lastest evil plot and really put things to the test....

| Yeah Well, congrats to Whoopie Do Strike FOrce Awesome. Good go at it guys! I think we really did pretty good there.
Garret had good reasons and Cedrith and Migwin really came through on the long list with quality! Beregon does a good job with the list both in quality and quantity so it is only natural to assume the only way to compete is to make a longer list! Compensating and all that!
I was going to try and post something longer with better reasons today after work - I didn't realize the deadline was today. In any case Mike - you have me a bit curious. What put it over the edge for team Awesome? I had to laugh at Scott's comment ... I can make some pretty freakn long lists! and Team Awesome! wins in the name!
Anyway ... lets try and win the next one then guys ... maybe! We might take up 2 pages of thread!!!
You have me a bit concerned there Mike. Hatch your evil plan? See which 2 or 1 character dies was a comment made earlier?

Migwin’s Diary for Flamerule 10th, in the Year of Wild Magic
After 15 or 20 minutes, we suspect that team Strike Out Possum is in trouble and I try scrying (after Cedrith tries and is unsuccessful). I see the back of Jars head in a dark place. Cedrith tries again but no luck. He keeps trying, and cries out in pain (he was stabbed in the side) and Grath is standing next to him with an evil grin on his face! Grath stabs again. Tharnog swipes at him, but Grath hits Cedrith again (the magnificent evil bastard)! Tharnog swings again and kills him!
As his body is lying on the floor, it changes to a dull grey featureless form. Cedrith finally got the crystal ball to work, and it revealed Beregon standing next to Grath. Is that the real Grath - who knows?
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to us, the other group is in a jail cell. Marvin picks some locks, freed Grath, and then releases zombies and some othercrazy barbarian guy. As they try to make good their escape, they are teleported into an octagonal sand pit of death. The gladiatorial arena is surrounded by demons and teiflings all calling for their death. Two doors appear, as do invisinble Hellcats. A fight ensues.
We decide to leave the building and go scout out the city. We empty the cart and fill it with our stuff, covering it in zombie parts to disguise it. We scruff ourselves up as much as we can, and I prestidigitate us the rest of the way so we appear like zombies. We then do our Shawn of the Dead Zombie walk and head down the street. We notice a great deal of activity, a small army of guardsmen are searching about, entering buildings 4 at a time. We head in the direction of the palace. There is a large crowd at the arena making plenty of noise (large chorus of boos). We find plenty of shops and such. Turning around and cutting over a street, we reverse our course and make a parallel line back. We get to the building with the portal to check it out finding the guards have been doubled, and some are mounted on tigers.
Continuing on we encounter a purple robed tigerman who speaks infernal at us. He points at the zombietorium and barks a command. We head that way and seem to avoid detection. Once out of sight, we turn around and head down another street towards the palace. Unfortunately the guards sniff us out and fireball us. I get a few spells off on our way to strengthen me up. Cedrith heals me, I enlarge, intimidate them and prepare to charge. Tharnog moves up and cut into them. Cedrith heals Tharnog and moves up for support. I hit a tigerman, and again. They fight back but barely hit us. Cedrith moves up and swings! I hit one and drop it. So does Tharnog. The other two move up. More healing, more hitting, and I keep seeing RED!!!! I drop another one! Tharnog drops the last one. We decide to forge ahead and charge up the stairs.
Meanwhile with Stink Farts Blossom, they find themselves trapped in the arena. Spiked evils appear and start to kick their butts. Grath gets a critical, and laughs at the halfling! They keep fighting. Suddenly 3 heroic figures appear….
As we charge up the stairs, we suddenly appear in a gladiatorial arena with some familiar faces. They seem to be taking a beating from spiked devils. Jars is trying to flank Grath. It must be another imposter! The spiked devils are giving them grief. I cast magic missle, but it only fizzles. I step up, swing and miss. Jars takes it down. But there’s another and it has felled Salty Pete. I run over, but the sand trips me up. I swing and hit it. Jars, Tharnog, and me are laying on a double layer of beating! Big Mig SMASH!!! It goes down. I spear it’s corpse and fling it into the crowd!
We have a scant few moments to spare, before a large horned devil appears! Challenges to the crowd are issued but fall on deaf ears! Marvin tries to deal with the devil, saying that this will just be a slaughter, and if he wants a good fight to let us rest a day. POOF! We are all teleported to a small glowing 30 foot diameter bubble room. There is an angelic being in bonds trapped in the bubble. Curse you Tempus - what now?!?!?
