WoW is a huge game to install. It's 5 discs when you buy it in a store, several gigs. Not to mention the ginormous patches, the install itself probably takes 3 hours all said and done. Very worth it though, it is the best game in the genre for a reason.

| So, who's coming out for 100 points tonight? And Dreamblade tomorrow?
Don't forget for those interested in the new Game Knight league there's a sign up sheet at the front counter as well as draft sheets for you to choose your prefered commanders. So far there are 8 people signed up, hopefully we'll get a few more.
The deadline for submitting a draft sheet and signing up for the League is April 28th. Of course the league is set up to allow people to join up at any time, you just lose out on a chance to get your commander of preference. I'll have the draft done on the first of may and post the results here as well as have them available for the 200 point game that week.

Just to make sure, dreamblade tomorrow is gonna be some kind of New Set Limited right? So I don't have to make a warband?

Never the less you make a good point so I am going to set it so you can't play a commander who is currently drafted by another player. You can still add a secondary commander to the warbands you build from the pool of undrafted commanders.
Therefore there will only ever be one Storm, Cleric of Dol Arrah, Couatl, Rakshasa, etc... in play at any given time. Plus we can identify player's by their commander, Rob's the Eye of Gruumsh.

I think we're going to be good to go for a Dreamblade draft and see how that plays out. In theory you don't have to worry about building a warband to a certain number of points, just get 16 minis who you like.

@ Mike: But I don't have to build my warband tonight. I can just do the draft and I'll have a warband. I meant in the sense when you draft in D&D minis you still have to worry about picking minis that can work on a team together up to 200 points and are of similar alignments. With Dreamblade those things won't be a factor so in theory it should go quicker.

I'm doing my online sanctioning for May/June. I noticed some upgrades to the dci site that allow me to change the format of a sanctioned event. We can still draft up some minis and enter the results as constructed, it's not like it makes a big difference either way.

| I just had an idea. Why don't we schedule a Winnipeg Championship Tournment?? It could be like a prerelease. Similar cost, similar lunch, similar prizes, similar turnout (hopefully), ect. It doesn't have to be a draft (Unless you guys want it to be). We could attach Mike's riderless Red Dragon to a trophy (grind off the gith's legs). So what do you guys think? | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | Its an ok idea, but you need to flesh it out some more you didn't explain much.
What format: sealed, constructed, both over 2 days?
Where would the prizes come from if entry fees just pay for lunch and boosters and maybe T-shirts?
I'm sure theres other considerations.

| 8 people out yesterday to play some Epic DDM. Andrew, Tyler (late), Garret, Rob, Nico, Scott, Richard, and Chris Love. Richard was the big winner.
Thanks again to Rob and Wizards for providing the extra prize support.
The league sign up is progressing nicely, 13 people so far with possibly a few more to go. The more the merrier of course.

It's an interesting idea but there's a matter of figuring a lot of things out. What will the format be, the rules etc? When do you hold it as to not interfere with other events and maximize your possible attendance. If it's sealed you'd have to space it out between release event.
Still, it's an idea worth considering for down the line.

| | I was thinking it would be like the pre-release, but it would just be 200 point constructed instead of sealed. It could be sealed if you wanted it to.It's just an idea. I'm not good at coming up with these things completely. I'll say sealed and no one will come, or I'll say it could be price x an no one will come. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. Posted By ShadowLord XT on 04/22/2007 8:50 AM Guys, I was slightly more serious than normal about the Winnipeg Championship Tournament idea. What are your thoughts? I think it would be a cool idea. I dunno, it has possibilities. Some points have been made regarding format, swag, prize support, and attendance. The Pre-release events attract out larger numbers as it is a new set. WOTC sends out a case of minis for free as prizes, as well as repaints/epic cards. The T-Shirts cost me quite a bit, but that is sort of looked at as coming out of my advertising budget. Pizza lunch can be done anytime, as long as I book ahead of time (they don't normally open for lunch, but they will for me).
So what is different than a regular Saturday? Play all day? Lunch? Those we can work with. Prize support, I'll ask my delegate. Attendance? What will bring people out in numbers? We did okay with the ENWorld/Maxminis gameday a while back. We could do that again.
