| Game Knight DDM Ladder League Rules
These are the rules for the Game Knight DDM Ladder League. The League will run for 12 sessions and begin on Saturday May 12th. Each League session will have an entry fee of $6 to cover prize support for that session and the prizes at the end of the League.
Format
All games will be 200 point matches with the Assault format using the standard warband building rules with the following exception. All players will draft 1 commander that they will have to include in every warband they build.
Commander Draft
Which commander you receive for the League will be determined by a random draft. Players enrolled in the League are asked to submit a draft sheet ranking the commanders they would like to have in some order, sheets are available at the Game Knight counter to fill out.
Each player enrolled in the League will then be assigned a random draft order with the draft occurring on May 1st. When it comes to a player’s turn in the draft order they will be assigned the highest ranked commander not yet chosen on their draft sheet.
The First Session
The first session on May 12th will be played as a standard Game Knight non-sanctioned tournament with points acting as tie breakers. The standings of this tournament will be used to determine the starting points. First place receives 100 points and every rank below 5 points less.
The Ladder Rules
The way to gain points in the Ladder League is to beat player’s ranked above you. Beating a player one rank above you gets you 10 points and for each additional ranking above yours you gain an additional 5 points.
Losing to a player who is ranked below you costs you 10 points no matter how much lower they are.
Wins against players ranked below you or losses to players ranked above you don’t result in any points changes.
Between each match in a tournament the player rankings are readjusted.
Byes
Byes should they happen don’t result in any point changes. In the first round should a bye be required the League Manager will take it. In following rounds the byes will be awarded to players with losing records at random.
Parings
For each round in the Ladder League players will get paired with the player who is closest to them in the rankings in the first round. After that players are paired together with similar wins and losses that session.
Tie Breakers
In case a tie breaker is needed to determine when players points are the same the first tie breaker will be attendance, a player who shows up gets the higher ranking over one who doesn’t.
The second tie breaker will be the player’s previous place before they are re-ranked. Should an additional tie breaker be needed it will be done by a d20 roll off.
Bonus Points
At the end of each League session players in attendance will be awarded 5 bonus points. Should a 1st place player not show up for a session they will lose points equal to whatever is needed to drop them to 2nd place and have 1st place in the Ladder go to someone who attends.
New Players
New players can join the League at any point. They come in with 5 points less than the current lowest ranked player.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for each individual session as any other Game Knight tournament.
At the end of the League prizes will be awarded to those finishing in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, the player who has the most sessions ranked in 1st place, and the no-prize to the player who finishes with the worst ranking.
League Manager
Mike Jackson will serve as the League manager, all decisions he makes will be final. The right is reserved to make changes to the League rules at any point to keep things running smoothly and enjoyable for everyone.

| Hello,
Thanks for posting the League Rules Mike.
I have to withdraw from the league at this time. Based upon the new job and finishing up my existing contract work my schedule has really changed over the past week and I am going to be busy pretty much every weekend through May and June. That means I miss the first four league matches for sure and possibly more (as Thursdays are tied up as well at the moment).
Maybe I will be able to join in later, we will see.
Good luck.
Cheers

| You can still join now to have your commander reserved. You won't actually enter into the standings until you play in your first session so there won't be a problem there. Plus you perhaps get to have the pleasure of denying people of a particularily tasty commander. | | | |

Oh and Baron, do you have a Ghale Eladrin in the case? I probably have something to trade in. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. Yeah, July Long weekend is a dumb time for prereleases.
I do believe Scott has a Ghaele in his case.
And yes Mike, I will possibly be in Wisconsin for the last two weeks of June and the first week of July. Hopefully I can avoid it and make the prerelease but we'll see.

Nice to get a Large White Dragon though.

| Sadly not myself, errands to do and the like and with being at Game Knight tomorrow and Saturday tonight is my only chance to do them.
Someone do me a favor and give everyone who attends a shout out about the League, 13 people signed up so far but the more the merrier and don't forget to get your draft sheets in.

The theme is Clash of the Titans for DDM, wabands must have 2 minis of 70 points or over or a single mini that is 100 points or over (200 point assault).
I'll likely bring a warband for each and see what's up.

| I'm thinking of changing my hours for June, aka summer hours. I'd like to close Friday nights, which we only opened to support Fiday Night Magic. DreamBlade will have to be moved, and I'll need input as to where and when. Star Wars RPG will also have to be moved, but that one is welcome to be moved to my house.
I may decide to close the store on Mondays as well , and have a 5 day work week for once. All hypothetical at this point, but that is what I'm thinking.
Feedback?

I don't see anywhere good to move Dreamblade events to that doesn't interfere with something else the majority of us play. We can try Saturday afternoons perhaps, speaking of Saturdays are you going to be shifting to summer hours again?

| I did. My foes stood no chance against the lucky Vaarsuvius shirt. I played Drow Cleric of Lolth/Epic Werewolf Lord/Epic Thrall of Blackrazor/Fomorian/Fire Mephit/Cursed Spirit/Bat Familiar/Orc Warrior. Essentially I ran around and hit stuff till it died. Then I sucked out it's life to give my thrall more hp. Six people out. Me, Tom, Jay, Jory, David, and Garrett. I pulled an asura.
Speaking of which, Norm, I've got an asura for trade now if you still need one.
Also, Jory, I left the gnome trickster for you with Scott. You left before I could give it to you.

| Hey, that was my warband idea. If I had gone I would've played Werewolf Lord (EPIC), Thrall of Blackrazor (EPIC), Mountain Troll, fodder. It's in my case right now (except the werewolf lord, I'd have to borrow one). Now I can't play that since it looks like I copied Richard's warband. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | Headed down to Game Knight for minis of some kind.
Today is your last chance to sign up for the League and enter the draft to get the commander of your choice. Of course you can always join in later and take a commander who still remains to be drafted.
If you can't make it down to Game Knight today just enter your top 10 commanders here and you'll be in. So far we have 14 people signed up so it should be a lot of fun.

| The draft has been completed pending some possible changes by the 3 people who haven't submitted their sheets yet. All in all 15 people have signed up for the Ladder League so I consider that a good start.
Here's how it breaks down....
With the 1st overall pick in the draft Chris Van Walleghem chooses....... the Blackguard on Nightmare! 2nd pick went to Garret choosing Vlaakith, Lich Queen. 3rd choice Tom who is in under the wire with the Cleric of Dol Arrah. 4th pick goes to Norm choosing the Cleric of Garl Glittergold. 5th choice overall went to Nico and he took the Aspect of Moradin. 6th pick went to yours truly taking Storm Silverhand. 7th pick overall went to Jay who did not submit a sheet to this point and thus was assign the Couatl by the default order. 8th pick went to Jeff and he has Shuluth, Archvillian. 9th overall went to bram and he selected the Death Slaad. 10th overall pick was Bach and he took the Vampire Aristocrat. 11th choice went to Scott and his pick ended up being Snig the Axe. 12th overall draft pick went to Rob and he has the Eye of Gruumsh. 13th draft pick goes to Tyler and he selected the Rakshasa. 14th overall was Andy and he was assigned the Inspiring Marshal by the default order. The 15th and final pick went to Chris Love and he got assigned the Village Priest by the default draft order.
So there you go, 15 commanders have been assigned you have a couple weeks to start building warband ideas. For Jay, Andy, and Chris L you have the opportunity to choose another non-selected commander by posting here before I bring the draft sheet to post officially Monday. I'll give Andy slack up until the League starts as he's new to the game more or less and I don't think he has an Inspiring Marshal, the other two non-submitees I know you have your assigned commanders.
And if Jay gets his choices in before midnight tonight I will redo the 7th pick down as necessary which could shift things around a little.
I'll see everyone for the first session on May 12th. Good luck.

| As for gaming today only 2 people out for Battleships and Dreamblade.
6 people came out for the Clash of the Titans Jory(Ice Devil and Fire Giant Forgepriest), Scott (Thaskor and Steel Predator), Garret (2 Centaur Heroes), Carson (Large Silver Dragon), Tyler (Strahd and Death Knight), and myself (2 Mariliths). Scott went 3-0 by default as Jory had to leave before he could even play Scott.
To decide who got the Devourer from the prize booster a 4 way collapsing caverns match was played between Scott, garret, Tyler and Carson. I sat out and gave Scott my place as he didn't get to play his third game. The winner with the last minis standing was Carson so congratulations to him.
I got another Celestial Giant Owl so rock on.
