| For the new campaign here is the list of approved classes: barbarian, bard, cleric, favored soul, fighter, healer, rogue, sorcerer, swashbuckler, wizard.
Maybe classes, with a good backgroud etc.: druid, expert, marshal, paladin, ranger, scout, warlock, warmage, duskblade.
Nope: hexblade, monk, ninja, psion, samurai, shugenja, soulknife, other stuff most likely.
Anything not covered there might possibly be allowed, you'll have to sell me on it though. Let the class wrangling begin.

With the 18 CHA there's nothing like healing 5 points on a Cure Minor Wounds. Or adding in the Augment Healing feat and curing 8-15 points on a Cure Light Wounds at 1st level.

I was thinking orginally of an Aasimar Healer, but in my mind it lacked entertainment to me. I'm thinking about being a druid since marshal doesn't seem needed. Or I could try my hand at rangering. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | We'll discuss characters some tomorrow night. Most of the 5 players who will be involved should be there.
Don't go planning too far ahead as I'd like you to work some things out as a group and with only 5 slots some of you might not fit in.

Play 3DA. Loser gets booted out of the new party.
Favoured Souls aren't really as cool as I had first thought. Needing high wisdom (for spell dcs) and high charisma (for being able to cast spells in the first place and getting bonus spells), combined with the fact they cast cleric spells (not much that goes BOOM!, therefore they likely need decent str and con for melee combat usefulness), all means they're rather stat intensive. Throw in the fact that they don't get any domain spells and no turn undead ability, and it looks like cleric is the better way to go. Unless you're like me and your brain gets filled up trying to decide which cleric spells to prepare.

| Richard,
I would agree with you on the Favoured Soul vs Cleric argument in general. The spontaneous casting can be helpful in some circumstances, but I prefer the Cleric's general range. Of course, I enjoy selecting spells and trying to be balanced with known needs and what might come up during an adventure. Scrobe scroll os your friend as both a wizard and a cleric.
Cheers

| About dinner ...
I am OK with Subway if that is what we want to do. My order would be a 6 inch toasted roast beef on whole wheat, full veggies minus olives, no sauce, no salt, no pepper, no cheese.
Of course, if that gets too complicated we could simply order pizza this week and that way we lose no gaming time?
Let's make a decision tonight, as I will not see any posts online (or be able to check e-mail) tomorrow due to no access from work. The government monitors new employees like me fairly closely.
Cheers

tactics are irrelevent. you're all going to die no matter what you do. Resistance is futile. Getting the answer correct just results in more deadly traps being set off.

| As I said before you're the victim of a bad DM. Even if it was a published module killing PCs like that is counter productive. plus it breaks my personal #1 rule of DMing: Never let the numbers get in the way of telling a good story.
Sometimes PC deaths are unavoidable, usually through PC stupidity. Sometimes a death can serve to further the story, often it just punishes a player who has put a lot of work and care into his character.
D&D is suppose to be fun.

I don't have the right books with me now to check but of the top of my head I seem to remember there being major temples in Waterdeep and Silverymoon, somewhere in Sembia I believe Daerlun, places in the Dalelands as well.
She's a reasonably popular goddess.

| Another interesting session folk. Lots of action and high drama and whatnot. For those of you who left early there was a generous 2600 XP handed out.
And because inquiring minds want to know I'll add another 250 to the pot to anyone who gives a nice detailed account of the events of the past session from their characters point of view.
What was the fate of Lannister Lazenby.....?

| Oh Lannister..... the people of Urmlaspyr still love you..... at least 50% of them anyway...... the other 50% still want to see you hung.
Perhaps some brave PC will recount their tale from last night.

| Just wondering if Scott plans on playing in the new campaign and thus force everyone else to play in Paula's group with the killer DM. Garret's already bit the farm over there 4 times.
4 of 5 slots have been filled by Rob, Chris, Nico, and Garret. Leaving 1 remaining which Scott aka Lannister "Am I dead?" Lazenby has dibs on.

| I'm up to a new level. Yay. Now for the hard part. How many spells should I have now? I had 11 (1st), 6 (2nd), and 5 (3rd). When I go into level 7 what do I gain? From what I read I get 2 fourth level spells + INT bonus meaning I get two 4th level spells and 4 of any lower level? | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. You learn 2 new spells every time you gain a level. Every time you gain a new spell level as you did by getting to 7th level you learn an additional spell of your chosen school because you're a specialist.
As for spells cast per day you would have 1, plus the bonus one for being a specialist, plus a bonus one if your Int is high enough.
At least that's what Donny Most told me.
