| A week and a day left until the first league session. I see that a lot of you are busy working away on warbands, good stuff.
Even though you might have missed the draft people are still welcome to jump into the League. If anyone still wants to join or knows someone who does all they have to do is let me know and choose a commander that has yet to be selected and he's yours. Better act quickly though, I hear Richard has his eye on the Elf Ranger......

| Another tech question for league:
If I put a second commander in my warband (like Mina, to work with my Snig), and a new person (like Richard) decides to join the league and chooses Mina as his commander, what happens?
Does he get Mina, and I have to drop it? Does he get denied Mina, as it is already in play? Does he get it, but I still keep the use of it?
Hmmmmm......although I think this question would be more accurate if I used Ultraloth as a secondary commander. He seems to be favouring that one. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

Both players must duel to the death for the right to use that commander!
Here's a serious answer.
In your example above if someone builds a warband with a secondary commander and a new player arrives at that session wanting to join the league with that same commander here's what happens. You still get to player the warband you built, he gets to take that commander and use a warband with it.
After that point in future sessions that commander would be off limits as the other drafted commanders.
If the new player reserves the commander ahead of time I will do my best to let everyone know in advance so they don't include it in a build they make.

In addition the bottom third of the league will have the opertunity to change their commanders after the 6th and 9th session starting from the bottom and working up.

| 6 people out to skirmish today. Garret, Richard, Carson, Rob, Andy, and Me. Richard was our big winner with a come from behind win against me. Vlaakith is definatly worth her points. Van Richten was the rare (out of an ugly booster). All in all a good day. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | [rant] I swear I just saw a kid on my bike (the one that was stolen) about 20 min ago. That's the third time I've seen that same bike. The thing that stands out to me the most is how it always has the same bike lock on it, just like the one it had on it when it was stolen. If I ever got my hands on the kid who stole that bike I'd like to (edited). If that never happened maybe I'd be a happier person without the types of thoughts that go through my head. | Well, I don't have much to trade with.....but I would like to get my hands on a Nentyar Hunter if you've got an extra one of those, or even another Dire Bear...I already have two Stormrage Shamblers.
I don't think I'll be down to the store on Thursday, but you never know. Maybe we can work something out.....anything in particular that you need?

My bike, and my friends was stolen when I was a kid, my friend and I were in a store and we had them chained up outside and we were at the till paying for something and saw them steal them but we couldn't catch them.
A few days later my parents were going into Woolco and saw both bikes chained up outside called the cops and they caught the guys as they came out to get the bikes.
Even if the cops hadn't showed up those bikes weren't going anywhere my dad would have taken care of the a$$hat that stole them.
So if you have the serial number for the bike follow the kid and when he locks it up check to see if it matches or is scratched off, if its yours call the cops. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| @ Shadowlord - I had an experience similair to Rob's. I fond my bike outside a restaurant, serial numbers and all. One call to the RCMP and they came and sat outside until the thief walked out and picked up the bike. Then they picked him up and returned my bike.
@ Dorge - I dunno. The dice thing works, but I'm open to new ideas. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| The way team night works is pretty much like a standard 200 point tournament. Normal warband restrictions.
The difference in this format is you are randomly paired with a partner. Games are played as normal although the pairings are handled slightly differently. The key difference is wins don't count, points do. The team that has the most total points between them wins the night regardless of their win totals.

| Like Mike says, you are paired randomly. Maybe you'll get lucky and she'll get paired with Richard. That way she won't have to play against him.
The points you score in your games are added to what your partner scores. Together that total is what counts. You might not even win any games, but can still win the tournament. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

Although as Richard himself has pointed out he has never won a Team Night yet so getting partnered with him isn't a formula for victory. The key is scoring points.

| I don't feel like spending money today, maybe Saturday. Have fun. And just so I don't have to say it tommorow:
Who won? With what? Who all showed up? What rares were pulled? Did Scott actually make any money? Who's coming on Saturday? Who do you think will win? Who do you think will show up? What rare do you think will be pulled? Who let the dogs out? And do you think I'll actually be able to go till Night Below without looking at a preview, spoiler, or general dead give away? | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | 6 people out last night Tom, Richard, Jonathan, Bram, Garret, and myself. Fairly disappointing for a team night as it was hard to run the tournament with a small turnout. Never the less we pressed ahead. The random pairings ended up being somewhat unfair as I got paired with Richard and we won my Ryld, LBD x2, Quaggoth x2, Orc Wardrumer, Gravehound, and Dark Talon Champion arband being fairly unstoppable.
The prize was a new retailer kit and a fun night of minis. All those who didn't attend will now feel a sense of shame for their entire lives for missing it. For shame.
Dreamblade tongiht. Looks like we'll have a big turnout. Extra warbands will be brought in case anyone new wants to come and try it out. It's a very fun game.

| 8 people out for Dreamblade tonight which was very nice. Paula, Richard, Nico, Kerry, Rob, Garret, Mystery Player X-14, and myself. Richard was the grand winner.
In other Richard news he's coming out to join the League tomorrow, commander yet to be determined. It appears Carson wants to join as well. Not to mention Paula who took the Lyrander Skyfire Captain which in theory bring the League enrollment up to 18 players.
Everyone build up your warbands and I'll see you tomorrow.
