Me help heal non goblin buddies good.
Cutter am strong like angry ogre, not as smelly yet.
We run around lots, kill dark pointy eared guys. Big spider have yummy good tasty bits.
Lots of shiny port-hole thingies. Me not think Nymagus replacement so smart bout these things. Him half tall as pointy ears, maybe he half smart too.
We goes through one port-hole, lots of nasty elfies there. Lannister there too but he all crazy now, well more crazy. He shoot nasty magics at us, bad mojo. Me knew should not have got Lannister sprung from jail. Snoot never cast lightning bolt at Blix.
We works good as team, kill lots of dark elfies. Cutter real angry again, cut Lannister in half. Blix not too sad yet. | | | |

| Posted By jacksonm on 08/08/2007 9:01 PM Another interesting session folk. Lots of action and high drama and whatnot. For those of you who left early there was a generous 2600 XP handed out.
And because inquiring minds want to know I'll add another 250 to the pot to anyone who gives a nice detailed account of the events of the past session from their characters point of view.
What was the fate of Lannister Lazenby.....?
I was going to update Lannister's character sheet for the session before this one, and was wondering if Lannister gets a share (or portion) of this 2600 xp? Hurling electrical bolts and flinging symbols of pain at a party of stalwart adventurers as they hew down my evil minions must be worth something. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca | |

Seriously though, it was Be'zeezil doing the spell flinging. Lannister's body was just along for the ride and the choping in half of. | | | |

Your only hope is the miraculous return of Felix Flounder. He could have saved Lannister from his terrible fate, instead he lies in twain at your feet.....

| Torchy's Take - Atrox Fatum Lannister Lazenby
Poor bastard, never saw this coming but you knew the end wasn't gonna be pretty. Torchy's sad it had to go down this way, he beats that rap in Urmlaspyr.... starts to make something of himself.... possesed by an evil wizard and now he's lying there in 2 pieces..... makes you think.
Reminds Torchy of the time he was torchbearing for the Sembian Seven. They had them a bard went by the name of Habblederry. He was possesed by the Bone Saber of Zuma Kawa, went all crazy eyed and started hacking away at the rest of the Seven. Poor Chucksworth, their gnomish ranger, never saw it comming.... hacked to pieces before they knew what happened. It was ugly.... Mungu this savage they had with them ended up chopping off the arm carrying the sword. That seemed to break the possession, poor Habblederry.....
Their wizard a fella by the name Skyler teleports the saber with the bard's arm still grimly attached into a nearby volcano. Thinking everything was hunky dorey again the Sembian Seven try and piece their lives back together, deciding to head back to town to make arrangements for Chucksworth's funeral.
One week later when they set up camp on the way back to Urmlaspyr, middle of the night Habbleberry's arms suddenly grows back, Bone Saber of Zuma Kawa in his grizzled hand. He hacked the rest of his companions to death in their sleep..... seems the taint of evil still had a strong hold on him. Always does.... | | | |

| Shadowdale Light Fellowship Chronicles - part XIV August 15, 2007
Picking up the story, the party rests in the chamber with the dead drow. Casey eventually cuts open the dead Lannister to find a glowing green gem in place of his heart. Gawain detecting evil finds the whole chamber area, and Lannisters dead body mildly evil. However the gem is not evil, and Casey cuts it out. Lannister regains some consciousness, in the form of a gem which can communicate telepathically with the holder of the gem. He only vaguely remembers anything, including the spell casting combat. However he has disturbingly vivid memories of being forced to watch while his body has his heart torn out and replaced with the gem. His body was then forced to eat his own heart, for the twisted pleasure of the being known as beezezil.
Back as Lannister....
Well being a gem sucks. Casey has filled me in on the details and life sucks. The group is carrying my body around, and stuffs me in his pocket when I talk too much. Well too bad sensory deprivation is hard to deal with shorty. Anyways, we travel through an evil drow lab, up to a broken castle in the elven courts, and up to the glorious surface. Sky, sun, trees, rocks, moss – all of it so glorious. Of course I’m still a gem. We have to travel through Zhent territory before getting to the dalelands. Finally we’re back in Shadowdale! Gawain asks the clerics of the temple about helping me grow another heart.
Options, destroy gem and release me to my resting place, or destroy the gem release soul to new body, or destroy the gem and reincarnate my body (50-75,000 gp). The cost is a little high, and Gawain can cast reincarnate, and get me a new body that may or may not be human. Sigh….it seems better than life as a gem.
Gawain casts re-incarnate. The verdict is…..goblin. Sigh…it could be worse. The chest hair is gone, and I’m shorter. But I can see in the dark, and pick up goblin chicks (ewww). Well I speak the language. And my new body comes with a deck of magic cards and a jeweled scimitar (yes!). The gods do indeed have a sense of humour!
XP – 1500

| Another interesting session, and for once you end up in the relatively safe confines of Shadowdale. Sure Lannister is a goblin now but the way I see it that just makes Gawain responsible for his shenanigans.
Fun with Werewolves next week.....

And 500 points for posting on whether or not Lannister is better off being a goblin and why or why not, I'll double that for a particularily convincing arguement. | | | |

| Scott, thanks for the PHB (again).
My personal take about our adventures would be that Nallan hasn't done anything yet except Detect Magic. Everytime I want to do something I end up unconcious or I'm in a situation where I can't reasonably do it.
Lannister wouls be good as a goblin because he gets the Dex bonus for being a rogue. That and I can bribe him in my next level to polymorph him back into a human. | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | Iliara Eilther was born in the elven village of Aspenheart on the 20th of Tarsakh, during the year of the Broken Blade, 1260 D.R., to Ta'har and Tamuriel Eilther. Her father Ta'har is a merchant dealing in elven art (pottery, paintings, and silver objects of all sorts), and her elder brother Kafel will one day take over the family business.
Iliara's early life was a happy one. While her family might not have been rich, they certainly weren't poor. Iliara like most elves learned to walk among the treetop walkways of Aspenheart early on, running across the narrow walkways high above the forest without any thought about what would happen if she slipped. She grew up among friends and family, playing games with her brother, and learning to cook from her mother, who she thought must have been the best baker in all of Aspenheart.
Growing up, Iliara showed a keen mind, picking up lessons from her teachers often the first time they were presented, and it her parents decided apprentice her to an old wizard named Elrohir. This turned out to be a minor disaster, to put things mildly. While Iliara was intelligent, she also had an impatient streak wider than the Dessarin River, as well as a tendency to act without thinking through the potential consequences of her actions. After the third explosion, which singed off her eyebrows, Iliara obtained the nickname Cat, and her parents and the frazzled Elrohir came to the mutual agreement that perhaps Iliara wasn't quite suited to the wizard's life.
Time passed, as time generally does, and soon it was time for Iliara’s 100th birthday. Her parents threw a large party, and her mother gave her a special gift, a silver necklace with the symbol of Sehanine Moonbow. Iliara wears the necklace at all times, and the chain can be seen around her neck, although the symbol is usually concealed underneath her tunic.
By this time Iliara had grown up to be a rather pretty girl. Being pretty and smart, she enjoyed going to parties and dancing, talking, and generally having a good time. It was at one of these parties that Iliara met a charming young human man named Garath. She was instantly taken with him. He was good looking, smart, and he had a lot of great stories, some of which might actually have been true. The problem arose with Iliara’s parents. While they weren’t exactly bigots, they would have preferred if Iliara had stayed among elves. But Iliara was in love, or thought she was, and so if her parents were going to constantly interfere she thought she’d run away. She gathered up a few things, including a bow and rapier and together she and Garath fled Aspenheart.
It was during the next couple of years traveling with Garath that Iliara picked up her roguish talents. Garath had an absolutely fascinating talent of getting into (and out of) places he really wasn’t supposed to be. They didn’t really steal all that much, no one got hurt (at least not seriously) and it was fun, so Iliara went along with it.
One day however things did go wrong. Garath and Iliara were traveling through a forest around dusk when they encountered half a dozen orks. The two tried to flee, but Iliara stumbled over a protruding tree root, tripped, and hurt her ankle. Garath looked at Iliara and listened to the orks getting closer and fled, leaving Iliara on her own. She was terrified, knowing she couldn’t outrun the orks, so she crawled off the trail a bit and hid herself as best she could when she felt the cool metal of her necklace pressing against her hot skin. She prayed to the Goddess, and perhaps the Goddess heard her, or perhaps she was just very lucky. The orks walked past not 5 feet from her hiding place but didn’t see her, and Iliara was astonished that they didn't hear her either. She thought that her breathing was audible a mile away, but the orkse kept on following the tracks of Garath.
After that rather hair-raising encounter, Iliara considered returning home, but that would serve to validate her parents concerns about Garath, and Iliara really wasn’t interested in several “I Told You So” lectures. So she continues her wanderings and eventually winds up in Seawatch looking for fun and adventure.
--------------- A slender moon elven lass with alabaster skin, and silvery white hair. Her green eyes glimmer with a mischievous glint and she wears a silver chain about her neck, the end of which is concealed beneath her vest. She's dressed in simple leather armour and carries a rapier and shortbow. (4'11" tall, 99 lbs) | |

And 500 points for posting on whether or not Lannister is better off being a goblin and why or why not, I'll double that for a particularily convincing arguement. Why Lannister is better off as a goblin:
Lannister has now gotten a dose of his own discriminations. He obviously doesn't like goblins, and has only relunctantly come to terms of Blix being a fellow party member. This will give him a chance to feel the shame of discrimination from his fellow humans. His ability to get along with others now will be more dependant on his charisma, which of course needs work.
The goblin community may or may not accept him for his weird "humanisms", and may shun him more if they find out the truth. Will this teach Lannister humility? I doubt it, he's still the same slacker at heart.
If he continues to be a rogue, the nimble dextrous fingers of a goblin will help him with his ability to pick locks and get into those tricky places. A smaller physique makes him harder to spot and harder to hit, also good traits for a rogue.
Why Lannister isn't better off as a goblin:
Lannister isn't going to become a better person in a goblins body. Why would he? He's lazy and doesn't take his career seriously. He's still going to chase the ladies, but now stuck as a goblin he's not going to get any. And goblin ladies......well let's not go there. He's going to get himself tossed out of most "human" bars, and most people will just think he's some goblin whose smoked to much pipeweed!
Waking up each day to realize that he is stuck in a goblins body will only bring a great depression on Lannister. He'll try to cope, but it won't be pretty.
He'll also scheme to become human again. With magic in the realms, this will be a possibility. Can he find a "Wish" spell, a wizard who can polymorph him, or some other form of magic that will transform him back? The possibility is there. Can there be quest he can go on that his friends would be willing to help? Would Elmer Sinsiter will help him?

| The Blix Report - Why Lannister Lazenby is better off being Lannister the Goblin Lazenby by Blix
Lannister am was very ugly. Me want barf when look at him, now he pretty. Almost pretty like Blix.
Lannister was mean to goblins, now he is goblin. Blix wanna see Lannister be mean to himself. Tee Hee.
Blix need new goblin buddy now all others dead thanks to stoping Lannister from being hung.
Now Lannister can get good goblin woman. Lannister only ever with one "pretty" human woman, not turn out good.
Now Lannister is goblin he can do exactly what Gawain sez.
Lannister now smell like sour milk. Very macho.
Lannister now have new chance at life, blessed is Lathander. He can repent sins and stuff.
It just funny. Ha ha ha. Blix happy. | | | |

| | Is Lannister better off? I'm not entirely sure. Lannister was always multi-faceted. As a human, his ability to get to know people, especially the ladies, was remarkable. At the same time, he was a bit more clumsy than I would have expected from a rogue. As a goblin, he'll lose some of his smarminess and will have to lower his expectations among the fairer sex, but he should be more stable footed. In a personal sense, I think he was better off as a human, but professionally, I think he's in a place to see improvement. Of course, then there's his own attitude. I think the fact that he's hated goblins all this time will do wonders for him. He is going to have an awkward phase as he gets used to his new abode, but I think it will work in the end. Lannister, while not a young boy, has some growing up to do. He's now in a position to realize the immaturity of his past and grow up. He will be able to see the negative side of discrimination which will hopefully teach him tolerance. He will hopefully not be so distracted by lustful thoughts and be able to concentrate on his career. As he starts to focus his attention, he will excel. As he sharpens his skill, and stops looking for love, love will find him. I picture the new Lannister becoming a far superior rogue, finding someone special and settling down in Urlamspyr as their first Goblin entrepeneur! | | All hail the mighty Green Rhino! | |

| Torchy's Take - Lannister the Goblin
Torchy has seen a lot of horrible things happen to adventurers over the years, a lot of them. And of all of them Torchy has seen this is one of them.
Sure Lannister had his problems, Torchy knew that. Everyone did. But he was okay for a human, Torchy liked him. Surely he must have angered someone to deserve such a fate.
At least he is a proper decent height now.
Reminds Torchy of the time he was Torchbearing for the Rangers Royale out of Tethyr. Seems the lot of them angered this Calashite witch something fierce. Gorgeous lady, too bad she turned the lot of them into Bullywugs..... On the way back to Tethyr to get cured they were savagely slaughtered by an Amnite border patrol. Seems most civilized folks don't take kindly to people who look like monsters....
At least Lannister has Blix to show him about being a goblin. Things could be worse. | | | |
