Sorry for the longe delay in responding to anything here after last week. Things have been very busy.

| Shadowdale Light Fellowship Chronicles - part XV August 22, 2007
First person narrative by Lannister "the goblin" Lazenby
Okay, we’re hanging out in Shadowdale, divvying up the loot. Cutter offers to chop me up so we can do resurrection again. I kinda like avoiding pain, so I decide to pass. Although to get a chance to get out of being a goblin seems tempting. I don’t think I’ve racked up enough good karma to not come back as a kobold.
So I’m standing around naked, and nobody has a spare pair of pants. Cutter gives me a cloak, and I fashion a loincloth (fancy word for diaper). It’s going to be fun shopping in Shadowdale. I speak up and claim from the party loot a set of magic bracers, magic dagger, hand crossbow, and a pair of daggers. Gawain ouches for me when I go to find some equipment, esp. lock picks (er….locksmiths tools). With a bit of luck I even manage to find a magic silvered shortsword with my earnings from the past adventures. I purchase two new donkeys and name them “Pork Chop” and “Meatsheild III”. I get some fancy clothes made, and get some jewelry, to help make good impressions on the people I meet. I also get some good quality cologne, to help with those first impressions!
I also hire a teamster, Mickofinney, to look after my donkeys. I also get him to take watch for me for a 1 gp bonus per month. I equip him with a chainshirt, silver shortsword and dagger. Veil also hires henchmen. We head out of Shadowdale after 3 days and head south-west. During this time Cutter intimidates Veils henchmen, and they leave us on the 3rd day. And after 3 days, sure enough we hear wolves. Blix wakes me up, and I make sure I have my jeweled scimitar. Cutter and I go and scout it out, and we find a disemboweled halfling. The corpse is fresh, and ill equip for being alone and in the woods. Veil scouted out and finds a halflings arm, by tripping over it. He comes back to camp and tells a story of how he killed a bunch of werewolves and cut one’s arm off, and that it turned back to a halfling. Meanwhile I lead Casey to the corpse, and he tracks signs of struggle to a halfling burrow. The group has been slaughtered by werewolves (we think, it’s odd behavior). Nothing has been taken. We do a thorough search, and there isn’t much to find. This was a poor village of farmers and potters. We find 2 women and 6 children behind closed doors. We calm then down and lead them back to camp.
Meanwhile back at camp, Veil attacks Cutter because Cutter grabbed him to stop him from going back to the woods. Cutter rages (frenzies), but drops Veil, who cries for help, and punches Cutter again (rolls a 1, lol). Cutter power attacks, and drops Veil (too bad it was only subdual damage). Blix heals him by the time Casey and I return. Cutter seems to have enjoyed the sortie. Veil entertains them to cheer them up. I keep thinking if I could see Cutter beat him up again that it would cheer me up. Anyway, I take watch tonight, just because I’m awake anyways. Nallan starts talking to himself in some weird language. Casey hears him, but I don’t. He tells Gawain. Eventually I hear Gawain, Felix and Casey conversing. I sneak around and listen to what they are saying. They wonder what I’m doing and I tell them “I’m on watch”, and for some reason they seem surprised. Apparently Nallan is talking to something evil. Gawain wants us to get ready for combat, as he is going to cast dispel magic. The evil goes away, and when asked, Nallan says he wasn’t talking to anyone. Hmmmm….
Upon further pressure, Nallan says he was talking to an imaginary friend. Have my companions gone stark raving mad? It has been a bizarre night. Veil casts suggestion on Nallan to tell the truth. He was talking to a wizard, whom he still claims is an imaginary friend. They don’t want me to shoot him, but I’m still getting used to these pudgy goblin trigger fingers…..
The plot thickens as the group confrontation escalates. The rest know Nallan is lying, and accuse him of leading us through all those magic portals deliberately getting us into trouble. Cutter tries to intimidate him. Gawain rambles on with paranoia about drow wizards and evil gems, possession and soul transferals. Nallan steps back, casts fly and tries to leave. Blix tries to hit him with his mace. Gawain dispels Nallans fly spell as it is cast. Cutter grapples him. Felix piles on top. I just laugh at this point and ask if they have all gone insane. Nallan disapparates. He left a letter behind, stating (monologues us) that good has failed him, and now he has turned to evil. He’s now joining an evil organization and that he’ll be back to get us. Gee, what an ungrateful mother f***er. He just got a 4200 gp share of loot, and obviously that wasn’t enough. What is it with our arcane spellcasters……On that note, we continue camping for the night. I am definitely not interested in taking watch if this is what goes on…

| That's right. Nallan has 'become' evil (not was evil like Veil said).
The letter was written a couple of days before the gold was divyed up. Stealing 4200 GP was sort of an evil wake up anyways.
Nallan will now be training (for a couple years at least) as a wizard with his evil halfling wizard buddy. When he's ready, he'll be back to destroy all of the 'good' companions he's been with over the years (as a start to evilness) which mostly involves the Shadowdale Light Fellowship. And he'll be back with minons, possibly his halfling friend, much more powerful spells, and especially his Mask of Blindness (which by then will have been made with Heightened Blindness).

I like to think Nallan will do fine. I'll have changed dice by then so I doubt I'd do that bad. You can comfort yourself with those words if you want, but I like to think he'll be back. | |

3x 95 Breaded Chicken, 69 Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, 2x 77 Honey Garlic Pork, 125 Special Chow Mai, 43 Beef Mixed Greens, 34 Chicken Shanghai Noodles plus all the free rice and do a pick up it'll be about $10 a person assuming it's 7 people involved (Rob, Chris, Scott, Garret, Nico, Len, and myself).
