| Sorry I guess I told a story as opposed to just future plans. Hope this was okay Mike ... I enjoyed and I hope you guys did too.
By the way ... I forgot to include. Felix has many an impersonator in Shadowdale who love to mimic his comedic genius on stage LIVE COMEDY. Apparently he sold out the Rust Trollop 7 days straight. But then ... Felix was never shy on vegetables!!! :) | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

| Ahhh...good ole' Felix. We'll keep your barstool warm down at the 'Trollop!
My character background now has 10 more paragraphs of swashbucking excitement. Did you want us to post stats along with backstories?
I've added 2 ranks in profession sailor, as well as a healing potion. I did beat nico as dorge says, but that was Star Wars I think.
I've swapped out improved initiative for track. It fits with my background, and could come in handy as we don't have a ranger. I've posted, and painted, and mused about Lannister's future, and did commentary on our last session. Whatever bonus stuff I've mooched just let me know tomorrow. Just don't ask me to eat another dmitri with fries (without fries, okay). | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| It'll do Nico, it'll do.
Starts aren't necessary. I'll check them all over again tonight.
Only wins in the Ladder League count for free potions. At this point I think everyone has qualified for the +10% bonus for tonight based on backstories.

Equipment - Longsword, Light Crossbow, 10 Bolts, Backpack, Bedroll, Waterskin, Flint & Steel, Wooden Holy Symbol of Correlon Larethian, Potion of Cure Light Wounds, Trail Rations (1), 6 gp.
Background:
Cedrith was born in the year 1342 in a small elven enclave in the forests of Cormanthor. The only child of parents Laurana and Himo, who were simple farmers. The midwife commented on his golden eyes and it was clear that he was different. That differnece became much more clear as he was maturing faster than any other elven child would.
Growing up his father would tell him stories about his Great Great Great grandmother who was a powerful adventuring wizard that had traveled the planes and fallen in love with an angel before returing to Toril. Â
By the age of 18 he had nearly reached adulthood, and had become very involved with the church of Correlon Larethian in the village. His work with the church earned him the privalage of becoming a Cleric at the very young (for an elf) age of 22. He spent a great deal of time helping the sick and injured in the village and surrounding areas and reasearching magic and religion.
Recently he has been having vivid dreams or visions of the sea, many of them involving a large simian and so he set off from the village to the port in Marsember. Where he heard the call to join Salty Pete's Crew. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| Looks good Rob. We'll have time tonight to tweek backgrounds as necessary and mold them together as desired.
I'm still deciding on some bonus skills. Everyone gets ranks in Knowlege (local) equal to their Int modifier +1, half of which must be devoted to their homeland.

| Tales from the Chronicler (Sept. 12 - Night 1)
The Blushing Mermaid Pub
Our tale begins in the Port of Marsember with gathering of 5 sturdy party adventurers in the Blushing Mermaid Pub. Many a men stop over for an Ale and bite between trips out at Sea and this tale is no different for me, the five or thee. Answering an Ad to ship out with renowned Captain Salty Pete are first two of five. The massive Barbarian Migwin the Huge and Beregon Tal a wizard of sorts. Both human in kind one Huge and one taller than small; but not, next to the Barbarian. Their inquires for Salty Pete - as they order and question the local barmaiden -are assured that around he is; but, nay he apparently is not as they wait, wait and wait yet longer. Joined at this table of two is Tharnog the Dwarf and an Apish friend - a Hadozee you see - named simply Grath without a common shipname from me. They too seek Salty Pete and seat themselves to order and wait. Greetings, introductions and stories are both jovail and queer and why Oh why does that bar seated patron stranger stare at our table of peers. At last - they not know it - their party completes itself as Cedrith Elarian a blond golden eyed Elf appears.
All the time the Stranger looks on in interest but declares none even when pressed by the Barbarian for an introduction of sorts. Migwin offeres him Ale and a bite. Grath asks if he wishes companionship from local ladies. At last of late the time grows on and a direct question of whether he be Salty Pete is Aye - Ayed. The renowned Captain Salty Pete offers our friends to ship out with him as crew; however, the mission to recover his stolen boat The Ebon Cutlass from Pirates afar is on hold until our crew proves their ilk to recover the Captains Compass. | | Pounce goes the cat!!! | Tales from the Chronicler (Sept.12 Night 1)
Captain Pete's Dungeon Part I
Supplying themselves for journey with rations enough for a week long ten day trip. Ten Days and no more you have to prove your Ilk utters Salty Pete to one and all. The wizard finds lodgings for all at his mothers home after the Captain's gracious hospitality and his fond wishings.
An uneventfull trip of two days brings our party to a 12 ft high square outpost in declining state of affairs. Itsbases 40 ft by 40 ft. Grath thinks this but an easy task to complete. Not so says his companions Just you wait!
The Rogue Hadozee searches for traps and unlocks the doors. The Barbarian and Dwarf strike forward in pose, down into dark depths of a descending stairwell they go. Not so easy Grath realizes as he tumbles and cartwheels hand over hand with latern in foot. Not like that cries Beregon Tal, that won't do at all as he relieves him of the lantern leads on with the light. A small room leads 3 corridors away at right angles. The wizard leads on with the light straight forward and perceives an old locked warped door encrusted with mold. The Hadozee sees after search that a long time has passed without a budge. Leave it the wizard says, it has not been disturbed in a bit so we can come back afterwards.
On to the right corridor the party moves with Hadozee searching and unlocking and untrapping the doors. The next room has 2 doors at either ends with the right one partial submerged in the swampy murk of outside. Leave it is said again as no one quite trust such a site; but, party members jab away for holes and a depth. And Tharnog the Dwarf ever wary of water swears that he hears and sees ... fish or other .... Stop fishing with moss Hadozee that works not without bait ... never you mind move on to unlock and find.
Grath's picks break off and Migwin the Huge is bored and impatient as he slams through the door to find ... Goblins!!! | | Pounce goes the cat!!! Felix the Flounder strikes! All heed the Drunken Paladin who performs comedy!!!

XP, bonus items, skill points and other things to follow as soon as I have some time to sit down and figure it all out. Probably not until the weekend though unless I give the board game club a pass tomorrow night.

| Tales from the Chronicler (Sept 12. Night 1)
Captain Pete's Dungeon Part II
Into battle Migwin charges and the party crowds the door to bottleneck. A Goblin flees and another goes down. The rogue fails to tumble above and through the fray. Beregon Tal enters lays a sleep spell to the warring Goblins as the battle is in danger of felling Migwin and others; do we have enough healing spells? Nay we do not. Migwin is nearly dead and yet he charges on to the next door after it is deemed safe. An overhead arrow pierces his chest - Oh what a curse to go first! Next moves in the Dwarf and he too recieves the mystery arrow from the high ceiling! And lo what does the rogue discover; but, a foot pressure plate in front of the door to maim intruders!
At the end of the hall, at the end of his wit; but the start of his rage is Migwin full of brutal smashing hate. Into the final two rooms with the last on the right, the Goblins cower in fright - yet on do they fight. Tharnog the Dwarf, Migwin the Barbarian move into the fray of the fight. All hurting but pushing on to the last. Their numbers diminish as the wizard and cedrith render invaluable aid; flanking is had by all, and the party is renewed in might. Migwin kills and kills yet again. The last Goblin is left and SMASH off with his head!!!! :)
Wounds are licked and tempers ... simmer down now ... the room is searched and what is found but a chest and various short spears. The treasure chest is nigh unpickable, but not nigh invincible SAY MIGWIN ... SMASH goes the lock and party loot is found ... BUT SALTY PETE'S COMPASS!!! ARGH :( Upon leaving what is found under the mat? Hey isn't that ... a Brass Key for the chest ..... Which Migwin now wears on his belt ????? Rob could you post treasure??
Back our weary, hurt and dishearted travellors move to the heart of the dungeon to start again. The nearly submerged door is tried again. The Hadozee searches submerged in the brackish water muck. On goes Migwin ... Oh down goes Migwin lost to watery depths he sinks in the middle of the room. Rope is lowered and up comes our Barbarian friend no worse the wear. Half drowned and somewhat the better now he knows ... but wait he thinks their was a strong under tow!!! Upon lowering the rope and stone to the depths ... it concludes a test of 25 ft.
Nearly Mid-day of the third day of 10 our party gathers in the central room of Captain Pete's Dungeon Test Quest. Two halls yet remain and ... maybe a foul underwater passage surmises the wizard ... what happens .... next???? | | Pounce goes the cat!!! Felix the Flounder strikes! | Sorry Garret, I didn't take notes and I wasn't paying super attention. I couldn't quite remember which party member - until you reminded me. Case in point I forgot to mention that Rob's character had dreams of the Hadozee. And Rob's character didn't get much mention in my chronicling.
Very sorry about that - I'll try harder next time. Do you want a retraction ?
(:))
Otherwise it was a really great intro adventure thus far Mike. Can't wait for the continuation - I'll try harder to capture our escapdes.

As for the XP it wasn't enough to have to level so I'll award it at the end of this week and allow you to apply your +10% bonuses to that.

| Okay, a recap on bonus items and skills.
Everyone should have their bonus skill ranks in Knowledge (Local).
I'm going to give Rob 2 ranks of Knowledge (The Planes) for his background. I think otherwise everyone should be covered for skills.
As for Tharnog's bonus item I'm thinking it would be apropriate if it was something that belonged to daddy..... and of course what's Thagnor most known for? His jug playing. :)
With that in mind Garret your special item will be Thagnor's Lucky XXX Moonshine Jug which will allow you to reroll one critical miss per day so long as you spend 1 hour per day playing it. Enjoy. :)
Scott has his although I may offer him a more powerful version if he wants to risk it....
Is everyone good with Georges this week?

No one gets Get Out of Death Free cards to start with this time around although they may be awarded at various times for good roleplaying, well executed DM bribes, or other reasons.
